The location is superb and the service from the hotel staff is incredible. We first ended up in the wrong building and they took us by the auto to another building immediately. The surrounding neighborhood has very nice restaurants. The room is very spacious.

Great location, huge room (however very hard to book the right building)
Very hard to book the right building. Staff were rude and unhelpful despite the fact that I am fluent in Chinese. We were overcharged for deposit and also could not use our debit card to pay. Overall very stressful experience. Don't bother leaving booking instructions through booking.com as they will not be read.

This is a historical building near French Consession and Middle HuaiHai, consist of few buildings, i stayed at the main cathay building. Very quiet, lots of greeneries. It is clean and no smell, but toilet equipment is outdated and falling apart. Walking to South Shaanxi mrt only 5 mins away.
The sliding door at toilet always jam, shower head is broken, the pull string for clothe hanging is broken too, we made a complained to the hotel and they get it fixed within 1 hour. When we ask for directions to nearby tourist spots, the front desk always suggest to take taxi, but it is only 15 to 20 mins walk to reach, places like TianZi Fang, Sinan Mansion, Starbucks Reserve etc. I got a shocked for an additional $150 charge to my credit card after i check out and return to my country, I wonder if they charge me for the repair?! It was faulty on the first day we stayed.

Non-smiling non-English speaking staff. A 3 star lobby in a 5 star hotel. Location is far from the Bund and other touristic places of the city.
