Like a journeyman who’s picked up great stories along the way, The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel is full of fun things to discover — like ceramic pooches in the rooms. Head to rooftop restaurant and bar The Outsider for a game of shuffleboard, or to Mediterranean-inspired modern American restaurant Tre Rivali for a plate of pasta. Any time of day, the chandelier-bedecked lobby has a communal feel that’s always conducive to conversation.

Pros: They were very gracious to change my room to a higher floor when initially given a room that was level with a back roof top . Also liked the complimentary happy hour.
Cons: They never mentioned the rooftop when I checked in so had no idea and completely missed it. Thought $14+ a lot for a glass of wine.

Cons: No. The hotel was perfect.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and first impression of this hotel was fantastic. The staff on check in and throughout our stay was also superb and they were helpful with every request.
Cons: The sheets on the bed had holes in and were frayed on the edges, but they did change them when I brought it to their attention. The cleaning staff were a bit neglectful as they did not replenish the toilet paper or amenities in the bathroom every day. When I asked for more bath towels they delivered them but then left them on the bathroom floor instead of hanging them up. I had to request numerous times for more towels, robes and slippers as they simply took forever to bring it to the room or simply forgot. It sounds like Im a princess but I can assure you these were very simple requests.

Pros: Excellent hotel. Convenient, clean, staff were very fro and helpful.
Cons: I would recommend that the side entrance remove the shiny slick substance that was on the paver stones. It is very slippery when wet and difficult to get traction when walking because it is on a slight incline. You sure wouldn't want a guest to fall or twist their ankle.

Pros: It was clean.
Cons: The pillows deflated so your head was resting basically on the mattress, the bathroom was awkward and narrow, and the elevators lurched excessively. We felt like the room wasn't worth what we paid for it, and we even avoided the add on of $23/day parking.

Cons: The price - still high even with the discount.

Pros: Excellent staff and location. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Really made my stay in downtown Milwaukee a pleasant one. I will be back in the future.
Cons:
6.8 Good
Pros: Great location. Good restaurant inside.
Cons: Paid $1000 for two nights, and we still had to pay for anything a bit extra. $10/day for Internet, $2.50 for a bottle of water, $33/day for parking.
7.0 Good
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Pool was super small, parking was a little pricey. Didn't like needing a room key for basically everywhere, pool, elevator, etc.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: From the beginning, the staff was very inviting and friendly. We were hoping to check in a little early, and the process was super easy. The rooms were clean and stylish and the products they use felt intentional, it felt like a high end hotel.
Cons: When booking.com gave me the option to communicate with the hotel, I tried to make arrangements to check in early. I never heard back and had to just hope it would work out for our plans. Also parking was very expensive for a Wisconsin city and given we already paid for a hotel, it seemed like an unnecessary added expense. Especially if a lot of people don't use it, or use it only for a day without staying at the hotel.

7.0 Good
Pros: The location was perfect for our needs and I chose it over other locations because of the concierge level room.
Cons: Tiny pool. Concierge level, although very nice, was not stocked and the garbage overflowing. The rooms were nice, but not of the same level as other similarly priced hotels in the area.

Cons: Although you can tell they have great smoke cleaners, the amount of smoke encountered in the casino is still noticeable, and the only way to the restaurants is through the casino!
The checking out process needs some help - I haven't had to physically check out at the front desk in years, unless I wanted to. Usually there is a receipt under your door the day of checkout.

While you’re there, be sure to grab a drink in the lobby bar and then head to the rooftop terrace for a beautiful nighttime view of the city. Great location, terrific value, and overall a fun place to stay
Cons:
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was perfect for a concert at The Riverside. The Aveda toiletries were a nice touch. The rooftop bar area was great.
Cons: The hotel smelled musty and it definitely needs updated to meet its 4 star rating. It was expensive for what it was. We were wishing we had paid the little bit extra to stay at the Pfister.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and very comfortable.
Cons: It would have been nice to have had cream and sugar available to go with coffee.
7.1 Good
Pros: Historical, nice size of hotel, room size, staff very friendly and helpful, location
Cons: Bathroom could use more shelves, hooks, black out curtains torn and not working correctly. Heating and air not the best hard to control and air flow needs looked at. Restaurant room service trays let in hall way to long. Reservations said there were slippers there were none except to purchase, for the amount charged for room they should be included.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful and I love the location of The Astor.
Cons: I know I got a deal on the room through booking.com, but the floor I was on looked like something out of a second rate The Shining movie. It was a floor where people also rent the rooms as apartments so I don’t know if less care was taken for some reason. I have stayed here before, but on lower floors and they were fine. This is an older hotel, which I love, but do not stay on the 8th floor unless you like to be creeped out.

Pros: Location and decor
Cons: Room too hot and couldn’t control the temp
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was great! The staff was very friendly, and I loved the feel of the building. It was an overall very pleasant stay.
Cons: My first key tag into the building didn't work, so I had to walk back around to get a new one, and the elevator got stuck closed our first try so we used the stairs the whole time. We stayed on the third floor. Luckily, stairs are nothing new to me, so it wasn't horrible.

Cons: Parking could be better @ 10 dollars a day....the needs re-paving.
7.5 Good
Pros: I like this hotel mostly for the location! It is right in downtown in a very nice neighborhood. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly enough.
Cons: We didn’t like the room temperature! First the receptionist gave us a very cold room and there was no thermostat to adjust it, but after we complained about it he changed our room, this time it was the hottest room in the hotel and again no thermostat to adjust it. It is a very old hotel and they need to update some fixtures and most importantly the heating and cooling system. And the bed even if it is comfortable every time when you change positions it makes noise. After all, I still like old charming hotels like Astor, just needs update!
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was great. Hotel was built almost 100 years ago. Quirky, cool in many ways.
Cons: Hot water took a long time to get to the room on the fifth floor. Cleaning staff did not see the coffee maker had been used. Not a huge issue, just annoying. I m recommending this hotel because of the location and the quirkinesses.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel is a dump and in need of a major renovation
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to great shopping and attractions. Beautiful Facility! We liked the kitchenette in the room.
Cons: Staff (all 3) at front desk were unfriendly and impatient. They seemed bothered to help. Needed to ring bell 1-3 times to get attention of staff from down the back hall.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location, it was a 10 mins drive to the Mexican Fiesta.
Cons: Pay a little more and stay at a nicer hotel. Front desk staff was rude. Hotel/rooms are outdated. The hallways and room had a funky smell. Bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible. Tub paint was chipping and it had mold. Just a terrible hotel.

Pros: The location is terrific as it is within walking distance of Summerfest and the Knick cafe for breakfast. The complementary shuttle service and driver were very nice.
Cons: The staff were not especially nice or observant. We waited to check in as both were on the phone. We were especially alarmed at a 6:09am fire alarm bolting is out of bed. It was quite alarming that there may be a fire, but also the nonchalance of the s
