Cons: Our first impression on checking in was awful. We asked for a bucket of ice for our room, the woman checking us I told us to ask at the bar. When we asked at the bar the woman proceeded to get one and give it to us. We still had our luggage with us so asked could it be sent up please. The response was yes for a service charge.then the meal in the bar and grill, for some reason the menu had no prices on it ?? We opted for the burger and chips, burger was great but onion rings were saturated in fat. Yes they are deep fried but these had been then left to sit in the fat before serving.

Cons: I have been travelling to Liverpool for the past 25 years or more, the Crowne Plaza, was arguably the best Hotel in the City for many years, however, I think that the competition is fresher, newer and better value for money. It needs a good refurb to keep up? The breakfast was an embarrassment for £15.50 each!!

Cons: There wasn't much room for bags or storage. There just wasn't enough room to get around the end of the bed comfortably. The bathroom, although beautiful, the shower was over the bath and was very high and not easy to get in or out of. The glass surround half the bath was not moveable so you actually had to get in the bath to run the water. If you have any slight restrictions on movement then this all beomes very difficult.

Cons: Staff was incredibly unhelpful - they ignored my wife as she struggled with two bags through the doors and up the 10-12 stairs required to get into the hotel. One of the same people who ignored her later made an extra effort to walk over and stop us from walking down a staircase to view the Beatles memorabilia. Overall, the experience was off-putting.

Cons: Arriving with a car and having to park so far away from the hotel with luggage was not ideal. For the cost of a two night stay you would expect a higher standard of bed linen and pillows as advertised 'luxury'in the description. Carpets rippled in corners holes in sheer curtains. Complimentary toiletries sub standard looked cheap and tacky. No bar fridge in room, booked a balcony room expecting a view of something...... only to see the back of buildings with fire escapes no seating or table on balcony so pretty useless really. Our stay was also disrupted by the inadequate sound proofing being disturbed by other guests above walking and moving around, all in all we were quite disappointed with the experience after looking forward to our that the blurb promised.

Staff didn’t understand restaurant bill and tried to over charge us for breakfast that we had paid for already.got it sorted but the billing system is confusing. Thank goodness I had asked in restaurant as I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND MY BILL EITHER. Once it was explained to me I could then rectify my total with the receptionist. Didn’t get an apology for the over charging as receptionist was flustered on how to fix it! We all got there in the end. The staff are all lovely but the billing system is not clear. While we were sitting outside at the bar a lit cigarette flew down from above and bounced off our brolly, onto the ledge outside the bar. When looking up the outside brollies are all holes or burn marks from the carelessness of others. What a pity as this reflects on the hotel.

Cons: There was no full length mirror in the room, we rang and requested one but it wasn’t until our second night (and several phone calls chasing it) until they provided us one. With three girls getting ready for a night out and only one mirror in the bathroom was difficult! One other minor thing is that there is no air con, fans were provided but rooms were very hot.

Cons: A step back in time. Antiquated as needs a lot of money invested in it. Paint peeling off walls, tired decor, old toilets and bath. Shower ok if your short, couldn't open window and no welcome pack. Could have been so much more than it is. It could be stunning.

Cons: When I check in the hotel and I go to my room at 5pm, I found my room was not cleaned at all. But when I back to room at 9pm, it still has not signal to be cleaned. So I have to change the room

Cons: The room while spacious could of done with an update. Bed was a little rickety and the wall paper was peeling In places. The bathroom was large and clean but very dated.
