Pros: We liked basically everything about this hotel and wish it had been more than a qiuick overnight stay. It was a special birthday trip for me, and I had chocolate strawberries, Prosecco, and a lovely little chocolate cake upon arrival. Our suite was large with a very comfortable bed and huge sofa. Great overall vibe. Our friends had a small but well-apportioned corner room with windows on two full sides and an amazing 20th floor view. Staff was friendly and helpful and bar was comfortable with good drinks. We did not have the opportunity to try the restaurant, but will next time. Great location.

Pros: The location and proximity to MDAnderson Cancer Hospital was ok, less than 15 minutes to drive there. The decor, though older, was nice too. There was a full size gingerbread house in the lobby, all edible, which we thought was really cool too.

Pros: The location and proximity to MDAnderson Cancer Hospital was ok, less than 15 minutes to drive there. The decor, though older, was nice too. There was a full size gingerbread house in the lobby, all edible, which we thought was really cool too.
Cons: Reading online that this hotel had a remodel in 2011, I wasn't expecting it to be perfect and pristine, but it was even less than I expected. The carpets coming off the elevator to our floor were stained and looked dirty. Entering the room, everything looked ok, but there was a definite smell to the room. Not overpowering, but not good either. Kind of musty/humid/moldy smelling. The tv was on a dresser not facing the bed, or any of the chairs in the room, so I'm not sure how one is supposed to view it. We were there for one night before our appointment at the MDAnderson Cancer Center, and though we will be making many trips there over the next few years, I'm not sure we will stay at this hotel again. For the price ($156 after taxes), I was expecting better.

Pros: We really enjoyed the room and the location. It was 2 adults and a 5 yr old. We were there to catch an Astros game and to visit NASA which was only a 30 minute drive away. Minute Maid was within walking distance. Concierge said we could use the complimentary shuttle but we walked to ballpark instead. Hotel was also next to the northbound and southbound light rail so we hopped on that to the museum district. We would definitely stay there again. We didn't use the valet for $36, we found street parking around the corner.

Cons: Got locked out of room at noon even though we had a late check out scheduled. Was no big deal though. They had a bus boy sent up to give us new room keys and they apologized.

Cons: I did not like the cramped quarters at the entrance. Due to the train, the narrow lanes for auto & valet made for a cluster. There were no bell carts available and the bell men seemed too busy. I did not like the small size of the sleeping room. Very cramped quarters.

Cons: I did not like that they charged me two times for my stay. When I called I was told I would be refunded and the manager would call me and they still have not called me back or contacted me about refunding my money. This was seven days ago. I will update this when I get my refund

Cons: The valet was decent. It's about $34 a night after tax for one car, but it is downtown Houston. They are very quick about getting your car ready for you when you call for it. At night we called valet for a cab and went down 10 minutes later and they said it had not arrived yet. My group waited 10 more minutes inside the garage before the valet guy told us to stand on the street and try to get one. What is the point of calling ahead for a cab if they wanted us to go flag one down ourselves. There is no on site self parking, but there is a small private owned parking lot connected to the right of the hotel which is $10/ a day where my friend left his car.
Check your bill before you leave!! I was charged an extra $20 dollars for "long distance calls." I didn't realize it was considered long distance to call valet down stairs... They were happy to take it off, but I'm glad I checked it.

Cons: I booked well in advance, but was given the room next to the elevator because they were sold out. The front desk person did try to be honest about it when I checked in, but didn't have any alternatives. The shower made a horrible chugging noise, and fixtures in the bathroom had visible rust. Also, although downtown Houston is not a walkers' paradise anyway, we were barely in the downtown center and had to walk 20 minutes or more to get to decent restaurants.

Cons: Rooms were not good. Beds were terrible. Possibly the worst hotel beds I have slept in. Noisy and kept the kids up as they are light sleepers. The hotel itself smelled old and the rooms did as well. There was mold in the inside bath/shower unit.
We left the hotel as soon as we could. Staff were fantastic. The employees in the hotel did a great job.

Cons: Our room was supposed to be ready for check in at 3, but upon arrival at 4:30, our room still wasn’t ready! The first person we came in contact with told us she was sorry the room wasn’t ready, and then the second guy said they didn’t have 500 maids that could clean them all at once. He did comp our breakfast and gave us two free drinks, but we had to wait for a room to come available. Extremely aggravating!
The lighting was terrible in the bathroom and I could hardly see to put on my makeup.

Maria and the staff in the kitchen during the breakfast and in assisting in attempting to rectify a mistake made by other staff (see 'What didn't you like').
Cons: I called ahead to find out whether I needed to bring our coffee brewer for our own, in room, coffee, and was told they had actual brewers (not those pod-type things). They didn't, and couldn't locate any, and didn't have any answers for how to get what we wanted and what they said they had.
They did brew our coffee in their kitchen for us, which was apparently the best they could do.
We almost didn't get the early check in they had also promised over the phone; luckily I had the name of the person who granted it, who happened to be the one at the front desk and who initially told us they couldn't check us in early.

Cons: The staff inside seemed a bit on edge from the double weddings in the restaurant, clerk told us we could order at the bar tender stand downstairs and the bartender seemed offended and said she's a liar, it's room service only that night. I was not fond of the prices for waffles and french toast on the menu, seemed an awful high price for such a simple food. The view from my room was construction and graffiti ' ed windows on the building next to us.

Cons: The pool closes before 10:00, and it's a main attraction, it's coming apart, and it's SUPER cold even in August. The smoke detectors go off when you dry your hair. Very annoying. No complimentary breakfast unless you pay a LOT extra for some overly-fancy room. This place looks so much better than it actually is. Very expensive and doesn't offer anything special.

Cons: Valet a little pricey. Did not end up leaving my car overnight so they charged me daily rate instead of over night rate. Although my car was literally parked to drop off my bags and change and then again to get my bags the next morning. So probably a combined hour of parking. But they were all really nice and helpful in changing it from the overnight rate to the daily rate.

There was no separation from bathroom sink to living and the lights for the entire bathroom area was on one switch. So I couldn’t take a shower without disturbingly waking up my other half. Lastly the music in the lounge on Friday night was LOUD and made us not want to sit down there and enjoy drinks.

Pros: I attended a conference here and felt pampered throughout. The hotel itself is beautiful and every person working there was friendly and super helpful The conference area was open and welcoming with wide staircases linking the 3 main floors.

Cons: Hotel is older. Rooms are a bit small for my liking. Maintenance has to come to your room to open vents to allow HVAC to work (bit of a hassle). Bathroom sink smaller (can't put much on it).
