Cons: The bad thing: as usual, the Intercontinental provided a Handy mobile phone that the guest can take with him when going outside the hotel and this time was the same... except for when, after about 4 days, they just took the phone from the room. I had left it to charge in its cradle, went downstairs while housekeeping cleaned the room and when I returned there was no phone! At first I thought maybe I forgot it somewhere, or maybe someone had stolen it. When I called reception, they said they removed the phone due to some request by Handy... without telling me!!! I stated my displeasure at the fact that they did not notify me, or that they did not even leave a note that they were taking the phone. They apologized and afterwards they brought some drink to remedy the situation and also gave me a pocket Wi-Fi device that I could take with me when going out of the hotel. Well, it makes up for the lack of the Handy phone... I suppose I can accept their apologies for the lack of notification... it just left a bad taste in my mouth that they did not tell me they took the phone.

The service provided to us is warm, welcoming and genuine. The staffs in the Club Horizon were empeccable, professional and friendly. Special shout out to Derek at the club (not too sure if that’s the correct spelling). He is a gem in your hotel. He provided a very professional, informative and empeccable service to us throughout our stay from the moment we step in the club floor. The food were amazing. The cocktails are good too. The room is clean and spacious. The location is perfect as it is walking distance only if you want to catch the train, shopping is everywhere close by, restaurants as well but not in a too crowded way. I would definitely recommends to all my friends and family to stay at Shangri La Kowloon! I will definitely come back to stay when im in town again.

Pros: The hotel is located in a nice area, if you do not mind walking, it is possible to access the city without necessarily using a taxi. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, the staff was helpful. There is also an outdoor pool and it is open until 11 pm, great to have a swim. Breakfast was excellent although it is quite expensive so it is best to get it included in the price of the room. It had a hug variety of food and drinks, probably one of the best breakfasts I have seen in a hotel.

Cons: We booked a triple room but there was only a king bed and they asked us for additional fee for the very small additional bed. The hotel room is nice but maybe needs a renewal, I guess this is common for Hotels in central areas of HK

Pros: The hotel is located in a nice area, if you do not mind walking, it is possible to access the city without necessarily using a taxi. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, the staff was helpful. There is also an outdoor pool and it is open until 11 pm, great to have a swim. Breakfast was excellent although it is quite expensive so it is best to get it included in the price of the room. It had a hug variety of food and drinks, probably one of the best breakfasts I have seen in a hotel.
Cons: Overall, the hotel is quite old fashioned, the style is really old, the room and bathroom design is also old fashioned and a could certainly be freshened up. I expected something a lot more contemporary and modern especially when you consider the room rate, I thought it was way too expensive for the type of room that we were provided with. The photos do look much better than reality for both the hotel facilities and rooms. Be aware that also on the day of check in you will be asked to put down a 4000 HKD deposit which is again quite high in comparison to other hotels I have stayed in the past. Room service, food, drinks are also way too expensive in my opinion. For instance, a small bowl of berries ( which was supposed to come with coconut and brown sugar ) was 130 HKD. The bowl came, without coconut, without brown sugar and was a small mix of strawberries, a few blueberries and perhaps 3 raspberries... The following day, no coconut, no brown sugar, no raspberries but same price. It is not a hotel I would go back to as I did not think it was value for money and for the price of the room, I would prefer to look at somewhere more modern.

Cons: Food and beverage all too expensive. Minibar prices just crazy, like 70 HKD for a very small chocolate, and 85 HKD (USD 11) for mini box of Pringles. About USD 50 for a breakfast. All hotel bars are closing too early, end even earlier than announced. The rooms also neeed som redecoration soon, as they are unchanged over at least the last two decades.

Pool side half hour for drinks. We seemed to wait forever for any service very disappointing. Would not stay again

The staff were lovely, the room was small (& we had been upgraded to a medium room so would hate to see a small one) but clean and had what we needed. Pros: We had a beautiful view from our room facing Kowloon. The large window in the morning brings in so much light (The photo attached is the view from our room) <3 The staff were great and very helpful, especially with giving advice during the protests. The hotel is super close to the Metro station, convenience stores and also very close to the Macau Ferry terminal.
Cons: - There could be some simple refreshments in the mini fridge, apart from water - There wasn't enough places for us to hang clothes, we wash our clothes as we travel so a place to hang/dry them would have been good

Pros: I love the location and it is incredibly close to some world class restaurants and scenery. If you want to go further than you can walk to quickly, the MTR is super close and brings the rest of HK easily in reach. The hotel was clean and the staff was incredibly helpful.

Pros: Very nice hotel. All facilities and rooms are quite new. The rooms are spacious and equipped very well. The hotel is located very close to the next metro station. Just 5 minutes by foot.

Cons: I stayed with yourselves at Butterfly on Waterfront, Sheung Wan from Monday 2nd September to Thursday 5th September. I was attracted to the hotel as it had advertised great views, ideal location and clean rooms. Upon arrival, we got in our room early which was great after the long red-eye flight from Dubai. However, upon entering our room for the next three nights - I couldn’t help but feel let down upon discovering the reality of the room. The general appearance seemed decent, okay at best - but upon closer inspection it was clear to see that corners have been cut. Don’t get me wrong. I understand the odd missed corner when cleaning but what I endured in my room was utter dismay. Such a lack of maintenance. I would let this pass if it was simply a lack of quality and effort in cleaning but this is simply dangerous and inhabitable. The floor tiles, mainly in the shower but one or two on the bathroom floor were missing. One in the shower was still hanging on and was only discovered when I had unknowingly kicked it, it came off and my toe was left bleeding. There is such a lack of safety. Additionally - there was a massive crack in the glass pane of the shower door. There had been no effort made to seal it properly and was jagged around the edges. I am not one to complain and will make the most out of many situations but in this case it just seems alarming that you would allow a paying customer to stay in such unkept circumstances. Cons: The hotel facilities are getting old and very little updates. The rooms are very small compared with some other Hong Kong hotels, for example I paid for a double room for one and even then it is very small with no room for your suitcase. If there had been two people it would have been very tight. On that note, there does not seem to be any allowance for single travellers because I effectively paid for two persons for breakfast and use of the lounge whereas a couple paid exactly the same price.

Cons: Very disappointed in room size, we received a room upgrade which was no different to the room type we purchased. Rooms extremely small and pokey. No room to put suitcases or ample cupboard space to unpack anything. Bed was only a double not traditional queen size like in most hotels. Bathroom also very tiny with shower over tub and toilet jammed up against vanity area. Hair dryer under powered. When expressed disappointment to desk was advised that all room types with exception to the suites and all the same small room size. Property had no pool, for a hot and humid destination this was very disappointing. Had a community pool close by at YMCA but had to pay daily to use. All other surrounding hotels had pools but not this property. Staff on tour desk in reception very poor with English and knowledge of surrounding area and attractions.

Pros: The location is a couple of stops from the hustle and bustle areas of Hong Kong. It's acceptable for every form of transportation. The tram and bus run in front of the hotel. The HKG airport bus is located diagonally across the street. The MTR station entrance is two blocks away but the walk to the actual MTR train after entering the station is about 9 minutes walk so allow yourself some extra travel time. The Tramway and bus that runs in front will take you to most parts of Hong Kong.

Cons: The rooftop closed at 6.45pm so unable for viewing the Harbour Nights show.

Cons: Bed is a sofa bed, and although it’s double, it has a hard bump in the middle that didn’t allow you to sleep. Rooms are not very clean at arrival and are not cleaned properly daily (carpet, sink, towels). Staff is at times rude and not flexible (as most don’t speak English). The gym is a joke, the only 3 machines are old and tiny and the water dispenser only has hot and very hot water. Elevators are a nightmare, as it takes always between 5&10 minutes to go up or down.

Cons: In such an amazing city, the Ramada name is certainly not well represented at this property in the room that we were given. Very small and dingy. The property seems quite dated. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable.
