Top tips for finding the perfect Hong Kong hotel

  • The peak for tourism in Hong Kong is from October to December, as well as around the Lunar New Year, which occurs between late January and early February. If you are interested in visiting Hong Kong when it is a little calmer, then we recommend that you visit outside of the peak tourism season, as there will be more hotels available and better rates for rooms.
  • The hottest time of the year in Hong Kong is from May to September, with temperatures regularly reaching around 31°C. The weather is generally cooler in March-April and in October-November, so we recommend visiting Hong Kong in these months, or consider staying at a hotel that has air conditioning, such as The Cityview or ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan.
  • If you would like to stay somewhere with a swimming pool so that you can refresh yourself from the hot, humid weather of Hong Kong, then we recommend staying at Hilton Garden Inn Hong Kong Mongkok or Novotel Century Hong Kong.
  • Hong Kong is a well-connected city, with plenty of options for affordable and reliable public transport. The most common way of getting around is to take the MTR (Mass transit Railway). If you are interested in staying somewhere close to Hong Kong Central Station, then we recommend Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, as it is within about a 2min walk of the station.
  • There are plenty of hotels that offer spa facilities in Hong Kong, so if you are looking to relax and get pampered during your stay, then we recommend Kowloon Shangri-la, Hong Kong or The Langham Hong Kong.
  • The cheapest 3-star hotel room in Hong Kong found on KAYAK in the last 2 weeks was $46, while the most expensive was $46.
  • How long should you stay? KAYAK users usually book their accommodation in Hong Kong for 4 days.
  • If you’re looking for a cheap hotel in Hong Kong, you should consider visiting during the low season. You'll find cheaper accommodations in Hong Kong in July and December.
  • Book more than 90 days before your stay begins to get the best price for your Hong Kong accommodation.
  • Hotel room prices vary depending on many factors but you’ll most likely find the best hotel deals in Hong Kong if you stay on a Tuesday. The opposite is true for, Friday, which is usually the most expensive day.
