Car was dirty, customer service was terriblePros:The car was ok and didn't have any issues as far as driving was concerned.Cons:The customer service was very poor. I was initially greeted and helped by the manager of the location. When I told him I had a reservation and my last name the first thing he did was make a rude comment about how I was scheduled to pick the car up 45 minutes prior, and why didn't I respond to the voicemail they left me. The tone of voice he used made it seem as if I had somehow ruined his entire day. Moving forward to pick up the vehicle I was informed that I would need to have two extra forms of ID besides my DL in order to pay with a debit card, this was an issue for me because I don't have any utilities in my name and credit card or cell phone bills are not acceptable proof of address for some reason. I had to get on the phone to my mother's insurance whose plan I am on and have them fax a copy of the policy over, and pull up my pay stub online to show them. Ok, we get that sorted after about 30 minutes and then I'm told I need to provide 3 personal references as well. What for? Am I inadvertently applying for a job at this location? Whatever. He kept asking what we were renting the car for and where we would be traveling/ how many occupants. I've never had to submit to questions like that when renting before and the way that they were asked seemed more like an interrogation than friendly chit chat. Then I am taken out to a vehicle that is covered in dust and the rental agent opens it, gets inside and turns it on, then informs me that there "should be enough in the tank to get me to a gas station, it's got about 10 miles before it's empty". What?! I had to ask at that point what refueling option they had me down for, I was so distracted by the other setbacks that I didn't even realize it hadn't been discussed yet. He said I just need to bring it back with whatever was in the tank at the time, which was less than 1/8 full. Once actually in the vehicle and on my trip I noticed that there was a sticky mess all over the center console and inside one of the cup holders from the previous renter. So not only was I chastised for being late to pick up the car, they couldn't even clean it before I arrived. The only thing that stopped me from canceling my reservation and renting from somewhere else was the major difference in price at such short notice. I have frequently rented cars to travel for work in the past few months and I have never had so much trouble picking up a vehicle. It took over an hour from the time I arrived to the time I finally drove away. I can honestly see why they keep their prices so low, otherwise they wouldn't have any business at all. I'm blown away that the extremely poor customer service was coming from the manager of the location. When I returned the car he was grilling another set of customers about occupants and destinations, and getting references from them as well. It was extremely unprofessional and I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone looking to rent a car unless they are desperate.Reviewed 22 Jul 2016

Rental Car ExperiencePros:I liked the price, and the staff at offsite location were nice.Cons:I did not like the fact that it wasn't brought to my attention that the rental car was offsite and the airport location did not offer a shuttle to the offsite location. The taxis at the airport wanted an outrageous amount to go to the offsite location which was only a 1 and a half away! We used Uber to pick up the car and a friend picked us up when we dropped off the car and took us to the airport. Had I known the rental car was located off site I would have paid more just for the convenience of picking up the car at the airport. The cars at the offsite were not very clean on the outside and the cleanliness of the inside of the car was mediocre.Reviewed 2 Feb 2017

Very Bad Customer Service National Call CenterCons:I could not extend the car for two days despite my contract stating my rate for extra day. Extortion rates given to me by Customer Service. Even had one customer service rep. insult me knowing you guys do not monitor him. He put me on indefinite hold. Never lost my cool. Simply asked a question. His reply, "this is not Mac Donalds" and "Find a Lawyer" After noticing my contract had a extended day rate. Alamo wanted close to $500 for the extra two days. I used Uber to get back home. Cons:We rented for a month an SUV in order to go from CA to FL. The internal electrical stopped working on our way there. When I called to alert the problem in California, they told me to go to the nearest airport enterprise location in FL. Here, their first answer was that I should take it to a Firestone store to get it checked. I called the nearest Firestone and they told me they couldn't touch the car being so new and low milage; it was the dealership's problem. I called enterprise again and they told me to take it to the nearest dealership. At the dealership they told me that they can't service a car brought in by the customer. With enough frustration built, and the original San Jose office shinning by their absence, I demanded a simple swap of the car but they made me call 4 different enterprise locations in FL looking for an SUV replacement. An assistant manager in Daytona finally managed to put us in a minivan, but all of this took 20 calls and 3 days of painful dodging by their representatives. I will definitely be dodging their service in their future. Not recommend.Reviewed 4 Oct 2020

Pros:Friendly staff.Cons:1. Someone picking up the phone (called two open locations, no answer, one said to leave a message). 2. Being given instructions for one-way drop off at airport at time of rental or at least posted in rental car drop off lot. I had to call Enterprise to find out what to do once I parked the car as there was no attendant (Medford, OR). 3. Receiving revised receipt. There "special" car was a huge, double-cab pick up truck. Basically, no trunk and this was an airport pick up. So, I upgraded to a Toyota Corolla. When I dropped off the car, I was told a receipt would automatically be emailed to me but I never received and had to contact customer report for a copy.Reviewed 17 Jul 2020

Great experience overallPros:Daily rate was significantly lower than picking up at the airport. Staff was friendly. Got a free upgrade in vehicle type, which was unexpected and fun (we got a FIAT!) Car was clean.Cons:Ended up not liking the car (not Enterprise's fault). It shifted horribly which made getting a freeways kind of scary. The vehicle only had half a tank in in when we picked it up, not a huge deal, because it meant we had less to put into it upon return. No shuttle service to and from airport was offered, I even asked about it and the answer was "no" but when picking up I saw a shuttle? Just meant when it was time to drop off we had to schedule in extra time to get to the airport on time while we picked up an uber. Lastly, on return day, we were there to drop off at 7:15, they don't open until 7:30 am. There were a handful of employees coming in and out, only one person greeted us. I get that, they weren't open yet. But we needed to get going, so we dropped the keys in the key drop box, and grabbed our uber to the airport. Then that evening (after literally the whole day) I received a call from them to let me know my total charges, and they tried to charge me for an extra day. I clarified with them very easily that I dropped the car off prior to them even opening, and most definitely did not keep it an extra day, and they fixed the issue immediately and I did not incur a charge. Pros:Drop off was a nightmare. I dropped it off at another location as the original reservation was, but I was not registered in the system when I picked up the car. The manager and staff did not know what to do and couldn’t assist me. They could not get a hold of the original airport I rented from to finish my registration so they could close my account. I had to call enterprise customer service personally standing in the enterprise office to speak to customer service to help. I spent nearly 2 hours there just trying to drop off my car. Staff and manager were not helpful and did not apologize once.Cons:The car was great and clean, no issues there. See above for why I am rating a poorly.Reviewed 5 Jan 2020
