My husband and I took a ride share from our hotel to the f Pick up location which was permanently closed We then paid the driver to take us to the posted alternate location and they had no cars! After asking the employee what was going to happen I suggested we go to the airport so we paid another ride share to drop us off at the terminal return! In line at the airport they made ME call customer service to remedy the issue and get back in a long line to get the vehicle! This was a 3 hour rocess altogether and a costly experience. It was mentioned that because we booked through a 2nd party the reservation could not be changed by Budget making us feel even more dissatisfiedReviewed 13 Nov 2025

We waited in line for 40 minutes, only to be told there were no cars available. Most people in line had prepaid contracts for a rental car and Budget breeched the contracts. HORRIBLE! The oil light came on during our drive to the beach. We called roadside assistance. They told us to get an oil change and keep the receipt-- we'd be reimbursed up to $100. So we spent an hour of our 4-hour beach trip getting an oil change. Afterwards we submitted the receipt and NOW THEY'RE SAYING THEY DON'T HAVE AUTHORIZATION TO REIMBURSE US! I'm going to be filing a small claims suit, I guess. No way I'm paying $90 out-of-pocket to service THEIR car. I'm so disappointed this is their choice of outcome.Reviewed 29 Jul 2025

The ease of picking up and dropping off the car was great, My only reason for not giving an excellent on all of my ratings is that there was no inspection at the time of pickup to review any existing damage to the car (small chip in windshield, paint damage to the bumper) so I was worried as I noticed things along the way because I was afraid it was going to be blamed on me. The service light also popped on once I got to my destination and it indicated that it was 5k over the last service. I know these are typically just oil change reminders most of the time, however I was paranoid the whole time. I must add that the two gentlemen working there were both very kind and professional. Car was dirty with bugs crawling around in it and we found a previous occupants dirty underwear under front seat - when looking for a hotel key. Also low air pressure on Left rear as well as low on windshield washer fluid. Manger at HHI airport was courteous, but more interested in charging g me and my insurance for a low tire vs trying to make the situation better for this customer.
