Budget refused to honor my rental of a small SUV, saying it was simply an economy class car and that it was kayaks fault for indicating the type of cars listed were small suvs. They told me they were “upgrading” me to a Toyota Corolla but it absolutely was a down grade and the car was as basic and underwhelming as they come. I asked to see the manager. I showed my small SUV reservation. He too said it was an economy class reservation and refused to answer whether they had my reserved type of suv in the lot. Also refused to give a different suv. He then with a straight face offered me a minivan. They were disparaging. They tried to upsell prepaid tolls and demanded to know who my insurance provider is when I declined additional coverage. It was the worst rental car experience I’ve had.Reviewed 4 Feb 2026

I can't say enough good things about the Boston Seaport budget rental car agency. John was immensely patient and thorough with my Very Many questions! I originally booked them by mistake, I thought I was booking through the airport. But this branch was much cheaper, Flexible and responsive. Best experience I've ever had with a car agency!. Spent an hour and a half in line, such a slow and inefficient process. Then wasted 10 more minutes on my time on top of that pushing rental car coverage down my throat after I said I had it through a third party, and was lied to about that coverage not being adequate.Reviewed 26 Oct 2025

Super long, slow moving line to pickup the car in Boston. We had booked at another location that closed super early (I should have double checked their hours), so we had to go out to the airport location and wait in line for nearly 45 minutes and pay more than double our original booked price, so that was a bit annoying. Maybe side-issue: my email service (gmail) converted local times to my home time, so I was under the impression our car was booked for 5pm, when it was booked for 3pm, so it added to the confusion...Reviewed 25 Sept 2025

The service was terrible. It truly was. The service desk took over an hour long. The lineup to get cars for all of us took over an hour. It was crazy. There were no cars available at all. Some had waited from 11:30 am to 2:30pm. Mine was for 12:30. The car had huge scratches down the side. And your staff that drove the cars in after being washed. Well you should see how they drive in the pick up spot. Like nascar. And I’m surprised they haven’t smashed into the wall and damaged your cars.Reviewed 4 Sept 2025
