Drop off location was excellent. Car had 30K+ miles, and very low tire pressure with bad handling. That should be checked EVERY turnover. 20 min wait at counter, then 20 more minutes with car check in guy. Then 5 minutes to get out of parking lot. Stupid system.

Clerk at rental center in Logan Airport was not personable at all. Did not answer any questions asked by me. She was only going through motions. At car pickup and drop off, Lady pointed me to a Kia Rio and I asked if it was an Intermediate class car. She said yes. Only later did I find out it wasn’t. When I contacted Enterprise, to dispute being given wrong size car, I was told I would receive a call, straightening things out. Never got the call. When I returned the car, I finally got a credit. My argument is that I wasn’t treated at all like a customer should have been, until the very end of my rental experience. This is an easy way to lose customers.

Counter representative was great. However, the Car needed service per the dash information screen. Car also vibrated very badly probably due to poor wheel alignment and/or tire balance. Cost for 5 days was outrageously expensive.

Took a while to get the car at the airport. The counters weren't manned and had to go to competitors to get someone to call them. Return was great - couple of minutes. Car was nice and very clean.

Arrived late at Boston Logan with my family of five (~12:45 AM). Small line of travelers in front of us at the Enterprise kiosk in the garage, and apparently there was only one clerk to handle all of the reservations for 2 different companies, one of which was Enterprise. After waiting there for over an hour (which included watching 2 gentlemen inside the kiosk talk to the clerk for about 45 minutes with no one being given cars), I asked my wife to go inside (it was around 2AM now) and see if any companies had cars available right now. AVIS was able to put us in a minivan immediately, for nearly $200 less than our online reservation with Enterprise through KAYAK. We left the Enterprise line and had a pleasant experience with AVIS.

Customer service agents for Alamo are impatient and unhelpful. Adding to this, they constantly try to upsell you while they’re treating you like you annoy them. This is not my first experience like this with Alamo. I will avoid booking with them in the future.

Pros: easy pickup; easy drop-off; tireless roadside assistance team that communicated clearly and got the job done. Cons: the first car they gave us died halfway through the rental period; it took about 12 hours to swap out this car with a new one. Here's what happened: We had an easy pickup, and at first the car we rented worked great. Halfway through the rental period, though, the car died about ten seconds after starting it up. Alamo's roadside assistance worked tirelessly to get a jump, but it was the day after Thanksgiving and a service provider was hard to come by. We were also in a rural location, so that may have made things more difficult. Alamo then arranged for us to get an Uber to an Enterprise rental to pick up a new car; later, they had the old car towed. The whole thing took a while; from start to finish it took about 12 hours from calling roadside assistance to getting the replacement car and the tow. Thankfully we weren't planning on going anywhere, so we could afford to hang around while Alamo got everything sorted out. The new car worked great, and dropping it off at the end of the journey was easy. They knocked about 15% off the final price for the faulty car and the trouble it caused us.

I ordered a mid-sized SUV -- what I received was a full size SUV. It worked okay was comfortable and met my needs, but the gas mileage was horrible and it took up a lot of room. No information was provided to prepare for return of the car. no address, or procedures. As it turned out, it was quite simple, but when I tried to get information, about what to expect in terms of time to return the car and to get to our flight, the agent was not very helpful. I have rented cars with a GPS screen which had been pre-programmed for the return. that was most helpful.

Beware of all of the options which cost lots of money. They also tried to give me a car with bad brakes and they didn't explain the $200 deposit. Terrible customer service and no one to talk with on the phone.

Long lines at car rental in BOS, only one employee. I understand short staffing but it made the experience unpleasant at 10pm. Also car was reserved in my name (non driver) since I made the reservation, but had to add my husband (driver) as an additional driver since he said he could not change the reservation into the drivers name. That was a $100 mistake.

The woman who I rented the car through tried, without asking, to charge me for items I didn't want: tolls, prepaid gas, insurance. She insisted my insurance did not cover the "out of use" charges I would incur if the car were damaged even after I told her my insurance would cover it. After she insisted my insurance would not cover the costs I relented and told her to write it up so we could get out of there. Then, I received a text message saying my credit card had been charged ~$400 more than the contact stated. I immediately went online with my credit card to dispute the charge. Then, when we got to the car in the parking lot, another woman showed up with paperwork stating she had the car we were given. After consulting with a very nice lady working in the garage, I agreed to allow the other woman to have the first car. I was given another car. As soon as I started it up and drove away, the "CHECK ENGINE - Maintenance required" light came on. I returned the car and requested another one. Another garage attendant gave me a Jeep, which I didn't want due to the bad gas mileage. We took it anyway so we could get to our destination. The next time I started the Jeep the "OIL CHANGE REQUIRED" light came on. Now what do I do. I'm not in Boston anymore. A couple days later I noticed new oil spots in the driveway where I was parking my car. A nice gift for the people we were renting their house from. When I returned the car to the Portland, ME, office, I was greeted by a very nice gentleman who quickly checked us in and wished us well. An experience I do not want to repeat so I will no longer, ever, rent a car from Budget. It was the first, and last, time I used your agency. Very poorly managed at the initial desk, obviously not in control to rent the same car to two different people, and obviously poor maintenance on the vehicles. I truly doubt anyone will read this. Or care.

Had a small problem dropping off the car. I used the address on the invoice rather than letting my Garmin find the drop off directly. I big help would be for Budget to provide instructions on this for their infrequent customers. Nice car.

Too long line to pick up car. I had a similar problem in Charleston. Rep was polite and helpful. Car was suitable. Drop off at LGA was poor. Rental car return signage did not apply to Budget. When dropping off the car, the attendant was busy texting and ignored my questions. I just left the car. The shuttle went only to the outlying Terminal.

Easy access to and from rental car terminal. The car given to my sister and I was well below average! It was a 2018 model. I felt it was someone’s personal car that they had placed into the rental market….There were all other newer cars and the two Senior ladies gets the worse.

The advertised rate was low and that's why I chose it. I was added extra fees without being asked; like tolls, full insurance, etc and didn't realise until I received a note from the bank for the amount charged. When I called the help center, I was told that there was nothing they can do as I had signed the contract. A bit furious for having to pay double the price I was expecting to pay.

Upside: It was not obscenely expensive. That's good. Downside: Took over an hour to pick up my car, and they seemed to be the only rental team overwhelmed. When I called to say I had to catch a later flight, they told me it was fine and they would hold it for 24 hours. But when I showed up they said they do not do that. This delayed me further. The website was broken and could not find my reservation when I needed to extend. The automated phone was unable to understand me, and it took a while to get an operator. The operator was fine and extended my reservation without problem. Overall everything worked, but nothing was easy.

Arrived for pickup and the line of guests wanting cars was very long. So long wait. Finally got a girl who didn’t appear to know what she was as doing. She finally confirmed the reservation and told me the letter & number of the car. Went out and loaded lots of luggage into the car and went to checkout. Went to checkout and the electronic cellphone gate QRC code didn’t work. Eventually with a long line of cars behind me, a guy came by and stated we had the wrong number. Had to look it up and stated we took the wrong car. It was your girl at the front reservation desk that got it wrong! We got the car and the guy stated to put the first car back in the original spot. Drove around again and now it was occupied. Drove to new car and reloaded all the luggage again into a different car. The guy at the departure booth told us the right number but we ended up leaving the car in the driveway. With many people walking around, we attempted to ask and no one could assist. What a nightmare in using this system without some better training or service. Returning the car to a different location was fine.

Main issue was that the reservation came up with much higher price than my booking with Costco. Luckily I had the confirmation email from Costco with all the prices and the desk agent honored that price for me. It was a difference of about $250, so was significantly higher. The minivan was very clean outside but was not as clean inside - some dirt in seats and feet areas and dusty. So would have been better to have correct costs attached to reservation and a cleaner vehicle inside, however the Alamo reps at Logan pickup were very friendly and helpful so overall good experience

Massive queue to get car. Over an hour standoff line, after long flight and terrible shuttle trip to the car rental centre. No help from anyone and almost impossible to work out what to do. Worst service I’ve ever experienced when renting a car. Not Avis or Kayak’s fault though - it’s the system at Boston!

At the ticket counter we had to wait, as there was one agent and 30 minutes later two more showed up. There were no cars availale when we got to the garage and about 12 car customers waiting. It was ridiculous. . They had some cars parked there that were available but required upgrades. So we did that just too not have to wait hours for our promised car. It sucked If nothing is available then at least they could let the customer know ahead of time

We NEVER got the car. We made the reservation through Kayak in MAY, which sent us to priceline. We showed up after a 10 hour overnight flight with our 3 year old and priceline had even sent us a confirmation before we got onto said flight that the car was ready to go. We went up to the counter and there was ZERO trace of our reservation. When we called priceline they said our reservation was there and fulfilled and the ONLY thing they could do was cancel it. What. Cancel a reservation that doesn't even exist as far as Dollar rental car was concerned? We were on the phone for an hour. They refused to help us in any way and were unapologetic. We had to pay double the price AND cut the time we had reserved the car for in half. I will never, ever, ever do a rental car through a 3rd party again. If you see a price here - don't do it. The car made an awful rattling sound that was loud and embarrassing and the service light came on every time we started up the car. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. If it was based on staff alone -5 stars. The car itself was sub-par.

The line to pick up the car was so long (over 40 people) taking an average of 5-10 mins per person that I had to give up and cancel my rental. Completely unacceptable. They need an pick-up option like Hertz where you can go directly to your car or need to staff more people at peak times. No other rental car company had a line even approaching this long.

Drop off at Newark was a disaster. Signs show dollar and thrifty so I went there to drop off. Parked, walked into the building only to be told to go around and circle around the complex to drop it off at Hertz. Why am I dropping off at Hertz of I've rented from dollar? Also directions given by workers of where to turn right and go into the drop off were inaccurate. Almost missed my flight because of this.

It took as almost an hour in the line to get to the agent. Then after we received the contract and went to the garage, we were told that there were no cars available. The garage agent said that a car would come up every 10 to 15 minutes and we either took what came or wait for the next one. The next car that came up was not the type we booked but we were just frustrated and took it and left. Never had an experience as bad as this before.

Unfortunately, there was no chance for me to like anything as E-Z did not have my reservation on file. I spent over an hour at the counter looking to see if the order was wrongfully placed for a different day, if it was set for a different pickup location, or if the rental company had been changed (I individually checked with Alamo, Advantage, Hertz, Enterprise, and more) to unfortunately find out there no company had my reservation on file. By the time the entire ordeal was done, and the option was to reserve a new car, we were so late that we decided to completely change plans and not rent a car for the day. This put extreme stress on myself with family visiting town and I am incredibly frustrated with this experience. The signage for the desk was difficult to find, the car exterior was dirty including windows and mirrors. The gas wasn t full and was low about 100 miles, I filled it a day later and drove that far before gauge returned to the point where I picked it up

Staff at counter was good, requested a vehicle with "in" state tags. Was told the vehicle had "Massachusetts tags".... it did not, then the gentleman in garage fought with me when I got to the vehicle with "Virginia tags!!!"..... He was very rude and he had 6 vehicles of same model with "Massachusetts tags" but wouldn't let me switch!!!! Ridiculous.....Using another rental company bc upon returning the vehicle I couldnt find anyone to check me out???? So I proceeded to the rental counter and NO ONE there either at 730am in the morning, it's been a few days and yet to recieve my receipt..... Last time I will use a second rate rental company, I travel for a living and if your a businessman dont use EZ car rentals!!!!

There was one staffers who was helpful and apologetic regarding poor signage at the airport. I also appreciated the man who checked the car out and was careful and helpfulThe counter staff were rude and simply did not care. They blamed me for missing the counter sign and could not have been more dismissive and unhelpful. With that attitude, I will avoid EZ rental in the future.

There is always a long line & a long wait to register. The staff is friendly & helpful. I asked about specials; I was told I could upgrade for $45 but was not told that was based on $15 per day. My total was greater than $45. I want a refund for the overage. Returning the car was super simple.

I reserved a Camry and was offered a Mustang or pickup truck or Wrangler, none of which suited the size of car I needed for my trip. And Payless was just as expensive as the other companies, so I didn't pay less, and I got a car I didn't want. Last time with this company (which is also owned by Avis/Budget).

It took almost 2 hours to pick up my vehicle at Boston Logan Airport. I had to stand in line with customers who did not have a reservation and I had to cancel my evening plans because Payless, Budget, and Avis were the only companies taking customers without reservations. I wish there was a separate line for customers who had all of their rental paperwork done in advance.

I spent 2hrs waiting in line and missed a meeting because there were over 50 people in line. Then as I tried to change my car I realized you redirected me through Price Line and they would not allow me to change my reservation and then spoke to Payless and they too would not budge even though the line was wrapped 4 times back and forth 50ft and they only had one agent working when I got there... I will NEVER use them or anyone affiliated with them again. I will use another service other than Kayak if they ever redirect me to Price Line (even after I chose a different source for my purchase)

I had to wait in line for exactly an hour and ten minutes with many other frustrated travelers in order to do the paperwork and pick up the car. The clerk proceeded to try to “upswell” the usual prepaid tank of gas scam and to manipulate me into purchasing additional insurance The car had not been properly cleaned. There were what looked like crumbs both in the driver door handle and center console, but also my wife found a discarded face mask in the passenger door storage area. Coming in contact with it was very disconcerting given the COVID pandemic. The visible dust on the exterior was a non-issue for me, however it indicates sloppy cleaning

I was able to cancel my reservationI have no confidence in renting with Advantage after my last week experience in Denver. I was given a vehicle in disrepair and was very unsafe, putting me in danger and great discomfort and inconvenience.

The staff at the counter were really great. I was in a hurry and a panicky mess, but they helped me with check in and got me to my car (I even made it to my meeting on time).The signage about where the desks were for check-in versus where the cars are could be clearer. However, I found the staff to be helpful in finding the correct location.

I reserved luxury but our luggage didn’t fit so we were able to get a Ram Rebel full size truck. It made the vacation much easier and we loved the truck.

Great experience! Worried about using a intermediary like Kayak and had not used National before. Entire rental went flawless. Was able to see rental on the kayak app as well as the National app. Would do again.

Drop off was EASY. Airport shuttles were often. I appreciated that the shuttle driver to the airport reminded everyone to check for personal items we may have left in the rentals before he departed.

I didn't rent from National. I made a res a few weeks ago, but I cancelled it. I got conflicting emails saying it was cancelled and others saying it was still pending. I rented a car from Sixt at BOS airport. Bob 415 663-8305

Excellent staff at pick up and drop off.Car smelled like cigarette smoke and wasn't very clean. Line to pick up car at the airport was VERY long, took over an hour to get the car.

Easy pick up and drop off for the most part at the airport except the National employees weren’t at the counter when flights got in making a great many people standing in line for both National and Alamo so the Alamo people could help us.Car smelled like something had been either in the car and got moldy or a wet animal had been inside causing the first day to be almost Unbearable to drive in.

Left iPad in glove compartment. When I returned to the car rental area the iPad hadn't been handed in to the manager or lost property after the car was cleaned which was disappointing. I couldn't check car myself as it had been rented out even though I had returned within 3 hours of having left the car back

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Vehicle was very nice and at an affordable rate.There were some staffing issues on the return, but nothing unbearable and nothing abnormal in this climate. It was apparent the staff was doing everything they could to help and I appreciated their efforts.

They gave me a car that broke down half way to destination. They then hung up on me twice after I was trying to tell them the car wasn’t working. On the third call, they basically had no idea what to do and finally figured they needed to call a tow truck. But now I was being told I had to come back with the car in the tow truck. Meaning I had to wait up 90 minutes for the tow to arrive, and then ride an hour back to Boston, pick up a new car and drive another 2 hours to where I was going. The car battery died at some point during all this and it was below freezing. I asked at least two employees if I could leave the car where it was at with the keys inside, so that I could head to another rental agency and just move on from there, and both said yes. I then get a phone call from a number that’s not even associated with silvercar saying that if I leave the car before the tow arrives I’m responsible to anything that happens to it. At that point I was already in an Uber on the way to an airport car rental. They had no idea what they telling me. They eventually got the car back. And I don’t know how, but they were going to charge me 4 times more than what I agreed to, because the guy at check out kept accidentally updating my reservation and adding more days to my reservation. That probably wouldn’t happen anywhere else, because this place is trying do all their business through smart phones. They are at least reimbursing me. And whoever the female worker was on Sunday during the whole situation was totally rude.Basically everything. I’m sure it’s fine if your rental car doesn’t break down, but if it does it’s a nightmare.

NOTHING!!!!! I sent a text to the number to have my car brought to me. I was informed they weren't taking 3rd party reservations and that it didn't matter that I had a confirmation number. The person on the other end was less than friendly and was sarcastic. I did receive several "We apologize for the inconvenience". My reply was "An inconvenience is me having to wait 15 minutes for my car to arrive" to which they replied "well have a nice day" Which I replied with an angry emoji and let them know I was given the a poor review and would NEVER use them again!EVERYTHING! An actual car when I arrived, you know, the one I reserved! The fact that this company could've cared less about me being stranded in Boston with no means to get to my destination. This is poor customer service on steroids. I rent a car just about every week for my work since I'm constantly traveling. Hertz made the mistake of giving away my rental because I was 30 minutes later than I had said I would be (my plane was delayed). It was spring break and they could charge another customer more. I have never rented another vehicle from them or their affiliates. That was almost a year ago. I have now placed Silvercar on this boycott list. Thank you AVIS for coming to my aid and helping me get to my destination. Not only did they have a similar vehicle, but when I explained what happened, THEY honored Silvercar's price! THAT's customer service!!!
