Pros: Comfort and luxury in a historic building that's been updated to accommodate today's discerning business traveler. Helpful and friendly staff. The lobby bar also attracted recognizable federal officials and notable DC power brokers.
Cons: I got lost trying to find the elevator but that experience added to my sense of security (and awe) while staying the hotel.

Pros: I love everything about the hotel- the staffs, the room is specious and beatifly decorated, room, bed, bathroom are comfortable. The staffs are friendly. They’re great with kids too. Breakfast is good. Location is perfect. It’s close to sightseeing places but a little tucked away from trafffic and craziness. I love the hotel setting that is next to the water. Everything about this hotel is just 7 star standard I was looking for.

Pros: The checking was quick and easy and the staff friendly. We only saw the concierge once, so not much help there-we asked the taxi drivers when we had questions. The room was clean and when we asked for one extra towel to be left we got an entire stack of towels within 5 minutes. We also appreciated the vending machine & ice machine down the hallway.
Cons: Unfortunately our room was on the street side (I did ask for a room with a view) and even though we were on an upper floor, the street noise was much more than expected. Sirens and honking and back-up beeping kept us up most of the three nights we stayed. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable as well. There were no lights on the desk and tv side of the room-only on the bed side. We found that odd as it was difficult to see while reading or writing at the desk. The bathroom was spacious, but I would have liked a "night" light or dimmer in the bathroom for at night.

Pros: Metro attached to hotel Liked comfort and flexibility of restaurant and bar. Very accommodating to our family of 15 for dinner.
Cons: As an Ohio State Buckeye fan, there on the annual rival between OSU and Michigan, we wore our OSU gear and decided we liked the hotel bar nooks of chairs around TV. We were so disappointed the bar only plays music and the TV’s are muted. There were other guests also asking to hear the game. First staff said they can’t play the TV volume. Then they said they would try but there was no one in house that knew how to. We certainly would have spent the time at another establishment. I’m glad I wasn’t hearing impaired. No one on site even knew how to put on subtitles to follow the story. Didn’t expect that negative experience.

Pros: The front desk staff was extremely friendly when I asked if I could check in early. My room wasn't ready yet, and they explained about a dozen people were ahead of me, but they did offer to take care of all of the paperwork up front so all I'd need to do was pick up my key when they called me. The waiting/lobby area was really nice. There was a restaurant and a separate bar and plenty of seating. Perfect way to get in from the heat outside.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like wasn't really the hotel's fault. The proximity to a Metro station was quite a hike. However, there were plenty of cabs should I have needed them.

Pros: Location is good and central. Price was o.k.-ish. Doormen friendly.

Pros: Most convenient location. A short walk from Union Station where our bus dropped us. A short walk to the memorials and the mall. The lobby was huge and welcoming, though some of the couches were a bit worn and needs to be replaced. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and there was a Keurig coffee maker in our room! The bathroom was very spacious and the showers were awesome.
Cons: A safe would have been helpful to store passports, money and small electronics instead of lugging everything around while touring. A small refrigerator would have been a good enity to have. My 5 yr old grandson had milk and snacks that needed c

Pros: The hotel was nice. I stayed on the top floor, in the back, which was quiet. It’s a basic hotel, so there were not too many things I could critique. Overall it was decent, and bar was small and intimate. I parked using the Spot Hero app, which saved me a lot of money. Gone are the days when I pay $45-$60/night for parking. I paid $45 for the whole weekend just down the street.
Cons: I didn’t like the pillows (personal preference) and the door knob to the room, which was very hard to open. How would handicapped people open the door? Also, I didn’t see any recycling, a must in today’s world. The room could use a refrigerator.

Pros: Location, excellent door men.
Cons: No premium channels. Broken toilet that was "fixed" twice but I had to fix it myself a couple times. No water pressure. House keeping only left us with 1 towel. Pros: The people at the front desk, the concierges, the doormen, and the housekeeps were truly concerned about my comfort and seeing that I had the best possible time in Washington. Your concierges are extremely knowledgeable and took the time necessary to help me find stores and restaurants; making phone calls for me to get things done. My own family doesn't care for me that well!
Cons: Cannot think of anything. Oh, there is one little thing, the front door to my room, number 302, sticks. I meant to inform the front desk, but it was so insignificant compared to everything else, that I forgot.

Pros: We experienced the sweetest women at the front desk, both named Anna. One even kindly gave us a room with a view at no additional charge since it was my boyfriends first time to DC. She recommended some great dinner spots which we loved. Also, the gentleman outside the next morning were so friendly, we chatted with them for a while before our Uber came. Kudos to everyone for welcoming us home after a long trip abroad. Made us feel so happy to be back.
Cons: Hair dryer could use an upgrade but was definitely sufficient to get the job done.

Pros: I liked everything. The room was modern, well appointed, with a comfortable bed, and spacious bath. The staff was as pleasant and helpful as any I have encountered in some time. The location is great! I ate in the restaurant once and I enjoyed my meal. I look forward to my next visit.
Cons: The closet space in the room I had was limited and would probably be tight for two people. This is a very small fault in an otherwise very pleasant stay.

Pros: was in town on business. Staff was polite and helpful even though I checked in around midnight. Room and decor were average at best. Not enough easily usable outlets next to nightstands. Central air system was noisy. a Pubic hair left on the sink and a couple in the shower was gross. Morning complimentary coffee was actually decent which was appreciated since I had to be up at 5. All in all, fine for me as a solo business traveler billing the client for accommodation. However if I was looking for a romantic getaway with my lady, or on vacation with the kids, i'd look for somewhere with a more unique and fun vibe and higher standards.

Pros: The hot apple cider in the lobby. Great location.
Cons: The room was filthy. It was NYE so we didn't make a big fuss about it but we were not happy right away. Random sprays of stuff on the walls, a nice little white stain on the bed skirt. The first thing we did was check for bed bugs and luckily there were none. We went out for a nice dinner and when we got back there were security guards in the lobby who stopped us and asked if we were guests but we just nodded and he let us right by. We spent the rest of the night listening to one of our neighbors break glass and toss furniture around- I get it it's NYE but we didn't think this hotel was that kind of place or we never would have paid this much to stay here. The only thing the front desk did was offer us comped breakfast and to have security "look around". The final blow came upon checkout when we found out the valet fee was $50! $50?! Why not offer to comp that instead of breakfast no way we were gonna eat something made in this filthy place.

Pros: The doormen/bell captains, and all the staff were incredibly gracious and helpful. The room was good-sized and well appointed. The location is great with many restaurants in walking distance. The Metro is about 3 blocks away.
Cons: The view from our room was not great, but we didn't care.

Pros: Stanley, along with anyone else I met within management was just absolutely amazing. Everyone there made me feel like a VIP. I had a bad experience in the past, last August, while staying there on business. Whereas, this time on leisure, the hotel staff redeemed themselves, and I look forward to doing business with the Melrose again in the future!
Cons: The bed. Way too uncomfortable. I'm in the mattress business (Sleepy's), if you need new mattresses, let me know!

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at The Melrose very much. The room was great. The location was perfect, close to Georgetown but also good access to the metro and buses going to the Mall. The wait/bar staff were great -- we had good experiences in the afternoon and evenings. The in-house, homemade limoncello was excellent.
Cons: No negatives really. We did have a problem control the air temperature/freshness at night, but that might have been because it was a warm weekend in spring -- maybe the air conditioners weren't on yet?

Pros: after checking into the hotel I went downstairs to have dinner the food was very good almost blew me away that this was from a hotel. The rooms are very nice beds are very comfortable to sleep in
Cons: breakfast service downstairs extremely slow I ordered smoked salmon bagel and cream cheese with C it took over 30 minutes to get it to me the serverwas very flustered I asked for a to go box she just gave me just the box with no wax paper to take away my food.

Pros: Hotel facilities were very nice, location is perfect for going to GW. The staff were very helpful, I had a problem with the reservation, as even though I booked the reservation using getroom.com, it was not found in the hotel's records. I spent an hour on the phone with getaroom and the hotel staff to get it resolved. They recommended that I use Hotels Tonight instead.
Cons: One comment, the cleaning staff woke us up at 8AM to ask us what time we wanted the room cleaned. I thought that was a little weird... would generally prefer they just come when we're not there.

Pros: The decor was excellent. I recommend using the subway, it's a short walk away.
Cons: If it had a pool it would have been perfect, but otherwise it was fantastic. Service at the in-hotel restaurant was slow and food was a little overpriced compared to the excellent food you could get around town.

We are just so pleased and are excited to know we no longer need to search for a place when we come to DC in the future. It will always be The Melrose.

Pros: Everything about my stay at The Watergate was top notch. The hotel and rooms really are as nice as in the pictures. Most hotels never seem to be as they present themselves. The Watergate, however, does NOT disappoint! Opening my room door for the first time felt as if I was walking into the photos themselves. The staff are incredible. There was an unforeseen issue with my flight coming into town, making me a day late. A simple 2 minute phone call to the hotel (no BS wait times) to give them a heads up was all it took. Upon arrival the next day, the very first person I interacted with had full knowledge of my situation, knew me by name, and already had my room key in-hand. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Can't beat the location (a short walk and I was at the White House) and the restaurant downstairs (Kingbird) is phenomenal. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Cons: Experienced late check-in - room wasn't ready for 2 hours. Limited hot water. Location not convenient for tourist activities, although okay for Georgetown.

Pros: From the moment we stepped out of our rental car the hotel staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We had just come in to DC from two days of flying and driving and right away the hotel staff made us feel right at home. They carried our bags, helped us with transportation in DC by pointing us in the right direction, and even gave us apples on our way out for the day. We had never been to DC and have 2 small children and did all the sight seeing we could pack in for 2 days. The location of the hotel was great. One night the weather was great and we all enjoyed the walk through the city back and forth from the Washington Monument. It is quite the walk, so if you are not up for it we also took a cab and used Lyft in which every place only cost about 10.00 to get a ride to and from the hotel. I also feel compelled to mention that maybe it was the look on our faces when we stepped out of our car after the long traveling experince with 2 small kids, but whatever it was they upgraded our room to a balcony! I think her name was Elena that offered the upgrade, and it was very much appreciated!

Pros: Comfy bed, clean, good location.
Cons: Wireless Internet unusable. Even just casual surfing was painful. Don't even think about streaming video. Wired internet was plenty fast. Seems to be a wireless congestion issue. TV remote was VERY frustrating. Anything other than standing directly in front of the TV from about 3 feet away and the remote wouldn't work. The heater in my room did not work, just blew cold air. Rooms are tiny...don't seem like great value for the price. ($300/day average for one week's stay).

Pros: The hotel and staff were nice and excellent in that order. Two negatives... Biking with other than the hotel does not give the hotel recourse for problems. AC did not stay on all the time when it was set as such on thermostat. Hotel could not give any refunds or comps. Also it was quite obvious that a couple of women in the restaurant/bar were of dubious occupation and I heard one guy tell one of them "I can tell you whatever the "F" I want. Took away from the family atmosphere add this took place in the lobby area.

Pros: Really liked how clean the entire hotel was, the rooms were amazing! I asked one of the staff members if all the rooms were like that because I had read some reviews that said the hotel was a little out dated. That was definitely one of my concerns when booking the rooms, thankfully I was put on the floor that was fully remodeled. He proceeded to tell me that the entire hotel was gonna be remodeled. This is great news because I booked 3 rooms for my friends and I. We had nothing bad to say about the rooms! Clean white sheets, with working air in every room and not to mention the bathrooms! AWESOME! Clean and remodeled as well! Which is something that makes me really happy because I'm big on bathrooms being clean when I stay at a hotel! I had a huge cake that needed to be stored and the staff also took care of that with no problem! If you are looking for a long stay or even short stay in Washington DC this is your place! I have nothing bad to say about the place! I will for sure be recommending this hotel and will be coming back for sure! Thank you Holiday Inn!
Cons: The parking was 37 dollars a night for one car. It wasn't really an issue to me though since I parked right on the sidewalk the hotel was on! It was free after 6:30 p.m. Saturday night. I'm pretty sure Sunday is free I wanna say until 5 p.m. We left around 1:00 p.m. Sunday morning and didn't have any trouble with parking tickets! It says it on the meter just can't remember! Again not a big fall back but something to be aware of 37 per night per car!

I stood for 22 minutes as the two people working the counter dealt with 2 customers The staff would not make eye contact with those of us in line Poor customer service training The staff should always acknowledge those waiting with eye contact and a few words Such as " we will be with you as soon as we can thankuou for your patience" They did not get anyone to come help and deal with the issues of the two people that were wanting satisfaction over their bill or Parking fee Etc. Just a poor introduction to a nicely appointed hotel

Nowhere did I see that when I booked the trip. $8 for a draft beer that should be $3, I get a call from security in the evening waking me up, stating that the policy is to call if the do not disturb sign is out. The do not disturb sign was out, I didn't want to be disturbed. Couldn't go back to sleep. I'm a small business owner, if I treated my customers that way, I would be out of business. Pros: That staff was very helpful and friendly. Also, the location was great. Very close to the Capitol building.
Cons: We upgraded to a buffet breakfast, which was lacking and the hot food was cold. Not a good value at $25/ person, but at a hotel, I understand the price, but if the food is cold, then it was a waste of money.

Pros: Walking to distance to good lunch and dinner choices
Cons: Hotel lobby shop was typical "airport prices" for anything you'd want, making You feel like a fool if you didn't to walk across the street and buy a snack or coffee at 1/3 price.

Pros: Overall clean and comfortable stay with friendly staff. Room was average. Close to capitol. Pool was clean.
Cons: Some areas close to the hotel didn't feel the safest for walking. Quickly figured out which direction was best to walk to avoid those areas. TV was broken (didn't complain while we were there because I only tried to watch the day we were packing to leave).

Pros: I requested an early check-in. I love that the hotel texted me about my room availability the morning of check-in. I texted them when I was a few minutes away and they informed me that the room was ready.
Cons: The bathroom wasn't fully clean upon check-in. I called the front desk and they quickly moved us to a new room.

Pros: The staff was far above any expectation and the facility was very nice and comfortable. The staff made the experience better than any 5 star hotels I have been to.
Cons: The location was not good. I did not feel safe walking back to the hotel day or night. The hotel was surrounded by homeless.

Pros: The room was nice until we looked out the window and found we had a great view of the roof... (sarcasm)
Cons: Valet constantly begging for tips. Being from Vegas I tip almost excessively however if someone begs for it or nearly has his hand out the entire time it is not coming. It's called a gratuity for a reason. Then when delivering the vehicle no opening the trunk, and doesn't return the seat to where they found it or at least close. Not much effort in valet.

Pros: We were in a suite and it was spacious and nicely furnished. Most staff were nice. Great having a Starbucks in the lobby. Nice central location.

Pros: The actual hotel was clean and updated, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the actual stay was great. Nice little happy hour offered at the bar.
Cons: Valet parked my car for 1 night, and took it upon themselves to charge $50 to my credit card, plus a $17 convenience fee. No lot in the surrounding area exceeded $25 for overnight parking. I should have parked my own car. I feel that the hotel was nervy and rude to charge us double the going rate for parking - without notifying me. I felt taken advantage of, since we were already paying top dollar for a 1 night stay. The hotel was nice, but not that nice. I stay in DC all the time, but I may not return unless this problem is rectified.

Cons: The drain in the bath tub would clog when I took a shower. The cable TV selection was spotty and I had to go down to the bar to watch Monday night football. Some of the wall paper is old and coming off of the wall. but other then that, no major complaints.

Pros: Location couldnt be better. Comfortable, un-frenzied, elegant. Rooms a little small but adequate. Staff super friendly. Breakfast a good value.

Pros: Old fashioned charm but with all the modern touches you would expect in this day and age. Very friendly staff at reception, helpful with local knowledge and directions. My wife was flummoxed by the complicated tap in the shower but that has been her experience with all shower taps in the US! We were lucky to get an early checkin and a bit later to checkout both of which we appreciated.

Pros: The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I stepped through the door with my 12 year old. I detest the hold hotels put on your credit card and don't release for days and was told I could pay the $50 incidental in cash (which I received back at checkout before the housekeeper had even cleaned the room). The room was indeed small with only 1 bed which would have been a problem if I hadn't been traveling with family. However, it was clean, along with the bathroom. I did whack my elbow against the wall as I was showering as the stall was a bit cramped. We received great instructions on how to make our way to the White House and monuments - - all within walking distance. We finished our running around a bit early so we took advantage of the 2nd floor lounge for about a half hour before heading back to Union Station. There was an industrial coffee/espresso/cappuccino maker, tea bags, newspapers, a big screen tv set to CNN, a charging station, computers etc. The rooms are too small for friends to convene comfortably so the lounge is a nice spot. Convenience: A block away from the Circulator, a block away from the Farragut North and Farragut West station (it is actually on top of the Farragut West station, however, the entrance is closed so it's necessary to walk to the other side a block down). The complimentary bottled water saved us some money and we surely took advantage.
Cons: The shower was uncomfortably small for a tall lanky person like me. Whacking my elbow against the wall isn't something I expect to happen in a hotel (usually hotel bathrooms are more comfy than my micro bathroom at home in NYC). Also, the room did not have a mini fridge which would have been nice for our leftovers. The hotel is downtown so the area at night is sparse (still feels safe though). You'll need to take a little walk to find some good breakfast if you set out early on a weekend because the nearby places are either never open on the weekends or only open closer to 9 am.

I arrived at noon and a staff gave a room just cleaned-up for an early check-in. official check-in time is 4pm. staffs are super-friendly. location is just behind the whitehouse and at the K street known as a DC's splendid street. we could find every kinds of restaurants within 10-min walk. Cons: When I opened room door, I found directly two beds. if there were a person at the corridor, he could have seen anything going on in the room.

Pros: The room was made up in typical Hilton style with decent bedding/bathroom stuff.
Cons: This hotels has seen better days. One of the elevators was out of service (seemingly for a long time - a piece of tape covering the outside) the button to the elevator was cracked, and the whole thign was worryingly slowly and creaky. The room itself smelled musty - like it hadn't been aired out in years. Outside the window was the HVAC system which was *loud*. It was a crazy-horrible room. My best guess is that because Kayak booked the room through Priceline Hilton felt it was okay to give me the worst room they could find. I checked out immediately and went to another hotel nearby for the same price, but with a much nicer room and hotel in general.

Cons: Around Midnight my room filled with old cigarette smoke as someone began smoking in the stairwell. The air quality overall in my particular room was poor, requiring the windows to be opened as much as possible. Pros: This is a luxury hotel for an unbelievable price. The hotel is centrally located to about everything you want to see or do. What first caught our attention is the fact that you can look down the street and see the White House just a few short blocks away. Pros: Friendly, attentive staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Location is within walking distance of many places to eat and a short ride from the national mall. Would stay again.

Pros: The rooftop bar was the only positive experience I had while staying at this hotel.
Cons: The hotel's front desk staff was rude and very inhospitable. When we arrived they didn't have the room I booked available and since I booked through a third party (kayak.com) they were extremely unaccomodating. We were a group of 4 adults and they would only offer us one room with one double bed. (Large enough to fit two but it's smaller than a queen. ) We did not understand how they expected 4 grown adults to fit in one bed but they offered us nothing else. As this was our first night in DC after traveling for 5 hours, we were extremely unhappy with this hotel's service.

Pros: The location The rooftop pool//bar//lounge area was nice
Cons: I was shocked to find out upon check-in that there is a $45 per night parking fee....as well as a $9.95 daily fee for the use of "free" Wi-fi at this hotel. Needless to say, we went and found a nice, safe place to park our car for 2 days in a residential neighborhood. Our toilet did not flush...there was no fan//vent in the bathroom. Our A/C unit crapped out at about 7:15 a.m. Sunday and water came gushing out of the ceiling for about 20 minutes...took 3 calls back and forth to the front desk for them to actually send someone to repair the unit. The free breakfast was nice, but would have been better if we had actually been informed that it was only from 7a - 10a we (foolishly) "assumed" it would be till 11 a.m. The additional "charges" make this on-line bargain NOT such a bargain. Will be going to DC again in the fall and will find other accommodations.

Pros: Location
Cons: The Embassy Row Hotel Website shows pictures of what the hotel is suppose to look like after a renovation that is coming in the Spring of 2015. As of Fall 2014, the rooms are small with poor lighting. Needless to say, the amenities are outdated. I stayed here over Labor Day Weekend 2014 and the base boards in the hallways on every guest floor were ripped off. Dehumidifiers were set up in the hallways by a company named Flood Tech. For the price, I thought I would be staying in a new, modern boutique hotel. However, until the renovation is complete The Embassy Row Hotel is old, dilapidated and apparently has a flooding problem.

Pros: The free breakfast is excellent and substantial. The hotel is affordable, clean, and in a great location! There is a neat little pool on the roof; unfortunately, we didn't get to use it because of the weather.
Cons: The only bar is on the rooftop, which is OK except during inclement weather, the bar is closed. There was a light wind on Friday evening (no rain) and the bar was closed before 7pm. Pros: location, walked to many fine restaurants METRO very handy
Cons: breakfast was included but boring. each morning, same uninteresting basics. exercise room was useless. inadequate.

Pros: The location is excellent.
Cons: The service is poor with many of their desk staff having trouble with English particularly on the evening/night shift. The breakfast area is so small that not once did I get a table for breakfast. There were flies floating in the juice one morning and the toaster smoking for over 10 minutes another morning making a terrible smell. The hotel is under construction at present as well, which they don't tell you until you step off the evaluator at your floor into a construction zone. My hopes are not high for the product as I had what appeared to be a renovated room and their were numerous poor construction problems e.g. one can't turn on the tap in the sink without holding down the base. I could go on. Finally when there was a problem the hotel staff blamed getaroom who I used to book ad getaroom blamed the hotel. Net net nothing was done. I will try not to stay here again and never use getaroom.

Pros: The rooftop pool
Cons: Tired and shabby hotel under renovation. Small dark room with scarce amenities. Public space and room smelled of insect repellent. Inadequatesecurity; the room key was only required to access the pool floor. Several steps and no elevator to the lobby. They hit you with a $10 "facilities fee" before you check out for "using the phone etc" which is in the fine print when you check in and not shown in the rate quoted for Kayak.

Pros: The renovation & new decor is pretty much complete! The hotel looks beautiful! The facility is great, comfy, and has a lot to offer. Our stay was okay and went smoothly. The young man who checked us out on Sunday was super friendly and very nice! (wish we would've had him at check in)
Cons: Check in at 1am was a bit rough and staff was not very friendly. Being giving some information or offer of any help or to answer questions would have been nice. Knowing about the breakfast foods in the AM would have made things a little nicer also.

Pros: Beautiful and clean
Cons: We were given a handicapped room and the bathroom facilities made it difficult to shower and relax. We were also told there was no charge on parking when booking and then charged.

Pros: Conveniently located in Dupont, but ...
Cons: The hotel is in poor shape. Outdated, poorly staffed, and lacking facilities. The rooms are old and the bathrooms moldy. The elevators don't work. The staff was rude and very hard to find. It took forever just to check in. Also beware they charge an extra "service fee" which is not included in the price to cover "amenities" but you can't opt out and it charges separately to your card.

Pros: It was a beautiful hotel, and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: There were no ice machines, the wifi never worked the whole time we were there and they charged you for it. We had to call maintenance 4 times because AC would not turn off.

Pros: Great location, close to Dupont Circle and the Metro line
Cons: Can't believe the hotel is still under renovation which is why I initially hesitated to book it. Areas near the elevator look terrible and my bathroom wall had holes in it. Front desk person seemed irritated when I was checking out early the next morning and needed to get my car out of valet. Overrnight parking is $45 plus add'l tax, ouch!

Pros: Good location.
Cons: the hotel was in a very poor shape. The room was not clean and while the staff is friendly the hotel is overall in a poor condition. Not worth the price paid. There's also a 'service fee' which they make you aware of and charge it on your card only during check-out (therefore you are given no option of opting out). Also there is no breakfast even though they advertise it on their booking site.

Cons: The heating was loud, uncomfortable, hard to adjust. They also don’t tell you that several of their rooms face into an interior atrium. If I had known that - I probably would have gone elsewhere.

Cons: Staff attitude was terrible. It took over 25 minutes to check in at one o'clock in the morning. The lobby was dirty and dusty and the construction elevator came to bring me to my room had all sorts of debris . I was woken up to a fire alarm and walked down 8 flights of partially (dangerous) lit stairwell. When I arrived in the lobby it was thankfully declared a false alarm . I checked out of the hotel out of breath unshowered and a disheveled mess.

Pros: The location was good. The decor was nice and what you would expect from a 4star hotel.
Cons: They tried to charge us for umbrellas that were returned to the front desk. When I returned the umbrellas to the front desk, the lady was very rude for no reason. Two of the elevators were out of service and the other two seemed as if they would break soon. It was scary everytime getting into the elevator because it would shake and make a noise. Twice the door didn't close all the way completely, leaving a small crack, and the elevator would not move. I highly doubt I would stay here again because of the lady I dealt with that was rude and tried to charge me for umbrellas that were returned.

Pros: The hotel is very nice and up to date overall. FYI if you get a good deal your going to get a small room with a even smaller bathroom.
Cons: While checking in, a friend and myself was told the pool for closed for an event(it was 98 degrees )! One of the main reasons we even picked the hotel was for there rooftop pool. After getting in the room I then called the operator because the staff at the front desk seemed unsure and it was three of them. All i asked was, when was the event going to end ? We then went to the roof top for drinks and seem guest kids etc in the pool. We then asked the bartender about the event, she had no clue what we were talking about.

Cons: There was a hidden "Service Fee" $52.00 tacked on at the end. When I booked I thought I was getting the real price.

Pros: Either the hotel or this booking service gave misleading info. Internet was listed along with TV, sofa, etc., as included. But then the hotel said internet was $14.95/day. They eventually agreed to not charge me for it.

Pros: I liked the decor and unique style of the hotel. I checked in at night so when we arrived we were able to appreciate the dim lighting and music. There was a lot of activity going on over at the bar/restaurant. People seemed to be enjoying them selves. The room was nice and clean. I liked the products in the bathroom. The bed was comfy and the lighting was modern and unique.
Cons: It took 20 minutes of standing in a very short line before I was checked in. There was a jug with fruit infused water for guests to enjoy. But there was also an overflowing trash can of plastic cups right next to it. There was only one person assisting customers. When I gave my name and info, the representative had a hard time. I showed her my reservation on my phone. She looked at it for at least 3 minutes and then told me that I need to call Kayak to get my confirmation#. I was confused and asked shouldn't she call them (since I stood in line for so long). Luckily I found what she missed on my reservation and she was able to check me in. Later that evening, we were given the number to a local restaurant that delivers. We ordered food. The next morning there is a receipt for a long distance call on the floor near the door. When I called the front desk about it, the rep said they would talk to their manager. When I checked out that day, I mentioned it and the representative at the desk dismissively said that her boss took care of it. No apology or friendly demeanor to spare I suppose. The carpet in the lobby needed vacuuming. It looked like the day after a party in the lobby.

Pros: The rooftop pool cannot be beat. It is a beautiful space with cabana and plenty of seating. The room was on the 10th floor making the pool and fitness center easily accessible. Within walking distance to the capital and the mall.
Cons: Hidden fees, and outrageous parking price, poor attitudes of front desk staff, "free coffee" pretty pathetic, coffee maker in the room not ideal. We couldn't take personal food up to pool despite no signs saying so. I felt like a teenager being reprimanded for sneaking candy into a movie theater. Bar at pool does have food, but be prepared to pay high dollar for pretty average food, without a lot of options. Poor communication regarding hotel activities, woke up for yoga class early only to find it must have been canceled without anyone letting us know. Pool was closed at 5 pm, we weren't even allowed to put our feet in because there wasn't a lifeguard. Website clearly says pool open until 10. It overall was fine, nothing miserable, but some of these details led to a less then impressive stay.

Cons: They didn't let us into our hotel room until very late in the day we arrived due to slow housekeeping service. Upon checkout, we realized we had forgotten a few items in the closet. I called the front desk to tell them of the issue and they said they would take care of it, but when I showed up a few hours later to grab my bags from the coat room and go to the airport, they had no record of me having called and couldn't locate our items left in the closet. One bellman went out of his way to help out and was able to find some but not all of our clothes.

Pros: The best part of my stay was the consierge! She was amazing... Extremely knowledgeable and nice. Although the restaurant was overpriced the food was tasty. The location is impeccable. I was able to walk to several sights and get to union station in minutes to take public transport. The decor is nice, and the water gets very hot. Tv was very nice.
Cons: The hotel was nice, I do think I would have gotten a suite if I'd known how small the rooms were. Definitely not for an extended stay. Perfect for a single person on business. Are rate was 200$ a night AND YOU DONT GET ANYTHING EXTRA!!!! Wifi is extra, the business center is extra, breakfast not included, no shuttle of any kind, they charge 10$ + 18% tip to BRING FOOD UPSTAIRS (from Art&Soul), bottled water in room is extra! Our stay was overall average, nothing wowed me. Walls are thin I could hear a crying baby that woke me. If you are able to get a low rate off season then this facility is good. Average hotel for an above average price

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at the Washington court hotel after the liaison did not have a room for us.
Cons: We arrived at the liaison at 12 am hoping to get into our room quickly and get some rest. We waited in line for at least 30 minutes to check in, as other guests appeared to be having issues with check in. After finally reaching the check in desk, we were told that the room we had reserved was not available. The only available room had no bed, just a pull out couch that could only sleep one person. This situation was the same for another 5-6 parties attempting to check in after us. We were given the option of staying at another hotel down the street and switching back to the liaison for the second night of our stay. We decided to cancel our liaison reservation and stay at the other hotel for both nights. The entire situation was handled in a very unprofessional manor, adding stress and confusion to what we hoped to be a relaxing weekend.

Pros: The service was great.
Cons: The overall hotel was just blah. The walls are thin and the hotel is located next to a fire station and so we heard sirens all night. Our hotel room overlooked dumpsters but we weren’t expecting much more. The room overall just felt shabby and needing updates - wall paper bubbling, chipping tub tiles, etc the bed wasn’t the most comfortable either but it was good for what we needed - a place to sleep. However the parking situation was the most irritating because to park is $50 but we were told if we stayed less than 24 hours we would only be charged the hours we parked. This was not the case and still had to pay the $50 for only being parked there for 18 hours.

Pros: Decor was nice.
Cons: They were 2 hours late for check in and did not offer any type of reconciliation for that. When we finally got to the room I noticed the tv and dresser was a little dusty. The location is terrible, right next to a firehouse. There were loud noises of people and the fire engines at night. Also, right next to a homeless center with people just hanging out in the streets nearby. The room decor was nice but sheets felt like paper. I would not stay here again.

Pros: The exterior and common areas were nice and well maintained. The location was great. Close to museums, the state capital, Union station, and restaurants. The room was fairly clean and reasonably comfortable.
Cons: For the price, the room we had was not adequately maintained. The bathroom door was heavily chipped at the bottom, the carpet sagged in some locations, and some of fixtures were dated. Not what I would expect from a "boutique" hotel in this price range. In addition, the room we reserved (and paid for ahead of time) was not available when we checked in (we reserved a king deluxe room) and we had to switch to a room with queen beds and no refund was offered.

Pros: Exceptionally helpful, friendly staff and the location. The rooftop pool and casual seating areas were family friendly.

Pros: Nothing. You live and learn.
Cons: Dirty, toilet didn't work, expensive with no value, bad service by manager. Uncomfortable bed. Pillows horrible. Can easily hear sound from other guests through the walls. Crazy expensive parking. Valet only. No refund after staying one of the two nights even with a 24 hour notice before the 2nd night checkout. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. So bad I will not be re-visiting DC anytime soon. Stay Away.

Pros: The patio bar was wonderful. The food at Art & Soul was worth trying. If you need to stay on Capitol Hill or be near Union Station, this is a good choice.
Cons: The "rooftop bar" isn't much of a bar. No free wi-fi in the rooms, and for only one day in the lobby. The bathrooms are tiny - no counter space. No great restaurants on the street except Art & Soul. Union Station has a wide range of restaurants, but after that you'll have to walk a ways.

Pros: Very clean, good concierge help, great value, rooftop pool and bar were very cool! I would come back again...
Cons: The area. Just a block down from the hotel it looked like a rough part of town. After the first night, definitely wanted to be back in my room before the sun came down or take a cab to the front door of the hotel. Also, no accessibility to water unless you were willing to pay $6 for the fiji bottle in your room.

Pros: Value for money was good. There wasn't anything over-the-top in terms of luxury or "wow" factors, but it was just fine and comfortable. Also, a good value.
