Pros: This is a fantastic hotel! If you like antiques in your room and helpful staff attentiveness, this is the place to stay.
The restraint is fantastic. Don't go to it if you want new fusion type food. The menu is very traditional. Each meal was prepared as if your Gran muter was in the kitchen herself. ( I don't know the German word for grand mother, I'm just guessing.)

Cons: Parking was not convenient by the hotel, but the hotel took care of it all with free valet parking, so this was not a major issue.

Pros: The location is excellent, very central.
Cons: The hotel is located on commercial street of the city, an area with restricted car access. Consequently, I lost at least 30 minutes trying to identify the address where I could not reach by car. Finally I called the hotel and they indicate me a different address for car navigation and so I got behind the hotel. Then I realized that the hotel has no parking and I was sent to a public parking (relatively close to ~ 200 meters). A very unpleasant experience, amplified by the fact that rain in that day and walk with luggage from the public parking to the hotel it was not the favorite part of a holliday day.

Pros: The Hotel Sacher was a charming hotel with an interesting history. We did lots of walking and It was conveniently located to shopping, site seeing and restaurants. The staff was great and very helpful during our stay. In the evenings we enjoyed having cocktails in the bar while listening to pianist play. The Hotel Sacher is a great place to stay!!

Pros: Stadtkrug is in a great location on a quite pedestrian lane in Salzburg. Only steps to outdoor cafe's and shops as well as Mirabell Palace and garden and the river. Desk staff was quite helpful including warming up our leftover pizza from another restaurant and seating us near the window. We enjoyed the outdoor rooftop dinner of beef stroganoff and spätzle. Room was clean but small and modern.

Pros: Stadtkrug is in a great location on a quite pedestrian lane in Salzburg. Only steps to outdoor cafe's and shops as well as Mirabell Palace and garden and the river. Desk staff was quite helpful including warming up our leftover pizza from another restaurant and seating us near the window. We enjoyed the outdoor rooftop dinner of beef stroganoff and spätzle. Room was clean but small and modern.

Cons: You can not park at the hotel because its in a pedestrian zone, but there are parking ramps and lots available fairly close to the hotel. I did not like the fact that you can smoke in the hotel bar which is by the checkin desk, but we found that you were able to smoke in some restaurants as well, very surprised by this.

Cons: The room was dark and dingy on the basement floor. My room was off a dark hall that had a door that opened directly to the street and was insecure. The hall was very noisy with the sounds from the street. The room had a overwhelming musty smell. The staff was not helpful with my concerns about the room stating that there was nothing they could do because they were full.

Cons: We booked a 4 person room but it was really just a large room with a pull-out couch that was very uncomfortable, as they normally are. The room was quite drab with nothing on the walls. Also the shower head was not functioning. We sort of got the impression that this 4 person room is not booked very often and the hotel treated it as such.

Pros: My wife and I had never been to Salzburg but chose Hotel Markus Sittikus based on its location and price. Overall we were very pleased with our choice. The price was one of the most reasonable we were able to find in central Salzburg, and we felt the combination of price and location was just right for us. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the Salzburg Altstadt (old town) but it is a very easy route along a main road to get there.
We had tons of questions when we first arrived and the front desk staff was extremely helpful and polite. The hotel is a representative for Panorama Tours (the main provider in town), and they will book the tours and make arrangements for you, which was also very convenient.
The breakfast service provided by the hotel is somewhat pricey but is one of the best european-style continental breakfasts I have ever had, with a great selection of fresh breads, cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, and delicious spreads. Great fresh-ground coffee tops it off.
Finally, due to the Syrian refugee crisis there were no trains leaving from the Salzburg Hbf for Germany, so the hotel staff arranged a taxi to take us across the border to Freilassing, Germany where we caught a train to Munich. They even negotiated a fixed price for us so we would not get overcharged due to the heavy traffic at the border. Overall we were very pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Cons: The only downside to the hotel is that the interior and rooms seem to be a little bit dated. The lobby, sitting room, and other communal areas were comfortable but could really use some updates. The bedroom was also comfortable but felt like it hadn't been updated since the '90's.

Cons: My girlfriend contacted the hotel in advance of our stay to organise a surprise cake and bubbly on arrival as a surprise. The hotel forgot this and she was really upset as she had to speak to the hotel and then the receptionist did not even apologise despite acknowledging it was their mistake. Despite cancelling it - the cake and bubbly was there when we returned to our room, but warm and by then we didn't want it - we were still charged for it!! This did take the edge off our stay unfortunately.

That’s one thing when you can keep your Windows shut but when it’s 30+ C, you can’t lead you suffocate. This hotels solution to cooling the room in sweltering heat was a tiny desk fan (10cm, seriously). Too hot and too noisy to sleep. Never again and I honestly think they owe us some credit back for the misery and lack of notice on the situation.

Cons: I booked on the same time, on the same name two double rooms for my family. They split us. One of the rooms was in a different building with 2 other rooms which was not exposed on the Internet. The room was not a 4 star room had not a proper access, without elevator and was located above their garages. They don't have an air conditioning system. The stuff was offal and only after we told them that we'll reclaim the situation they offered us after 2 h or arguing a 10% discount. I'll reclaim the entire situation with pictures to a higher institution.

Cons: I had made a dinner reservation for 20.00hrs on Christmas Eve which was confirmed by email before we arrived. However at 19.10hrs on Christmas Eve we received a phone call from reception asking where we were and that it was a communal dinner starting from 19.00hrs promptly. They were not interested in our explanantion. Also the one night we ordered Room Service an hour after ordering we phoned and were told they hadnt got our room number. It took a further hour to get our food by which time I had lost my appetite.

The sound was mainly come from that the hotel staff loaded the materials from the trucks, the rubbish truck collected the rubbish and the staff cleaned the leaves by using the leaf blower. This make us hard to sleep well in the morning.

Pros: Perfect location, 8 minutes away from the cathedral square, the river and the castle's funicular. It was quite clean next, to a bus station, and the staff was very helpful and polite.
Cons: The fact that the pictures of the hotel are showing only the new rooms, and not the old ones.

Pros: Walking distance to Old Town for sightseeing and restaurants. Free wifi plus terminal in lobby. Seperate toilet and bathroom, limited free parking on site. Friendly receptionist.
Cons: Breakfast not included in our room rate and was extra 11 euro per person, so unable to comment on selection.

Pros: The staff were very nice. The breakfast was lovely and there was a variety available to eat. There was a bus service outside the hotel which was very convenient.
Cons: I expected that the hotel would be alot nicer than it was judging from their website. The hotel is composed of two buildings. We stayed in the building across from the main hotel. It wasn't as well kept as the main hotel.
