10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was awesome. We had to book last minute and after looking at other reviews I was a bit worried. When we arrived, all desk staff spoke English. They were very friendly and kind. Our room was on the forth floor and it was gorgeous. The king was extremely comfortable. The room had everything you need and was very very clean. They have a great pool area, tennis court and hot tub area. They also have a great gym. We workout regularly and being at a hotel gym, we were very surprised with the equipment provided. This is a very safe area to walk around. There is a Starbucks and other cute restaurants and shops just down the street. Across the street is Walmart. We went there to grab alcohol and snacks, as the stuff in the mini fridge seemed a bit over priced. We stayed at this hotel for 3 night and absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it, it you are traveling through or just need a nice, safe place to stay.

Pros: Gorgeous and very beatiful hotel with own history. Placed in very old historical building. Best place to stay in Merida. Ideal location. Parking. Hospitable staff, nice swimming pool, really good restaraunt.
Cons: Our room was above the restaraunt and square, so until 23-00 we were listening music and voices on the street and at 6-00 in the morning we were awaken because of the drum concert, which ended only at 9-00(it was music support for Sundays maraphon) Also sound isulation isnt good in the hotel, so if you want silence - ask the rooms far from the main entrance.

Pros: Staff were excellent and extremely helpful.
Cons: The place was incredible. Second to none.
7.5 Good
Pros: Attractive
Cons: Has to eat outside .bitten by mosquitos. No way to escape
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is beautifully maintained building. The road on the Main Street isn’t that great but once you get in, it’s quiet and chilled place. The breakfast was amazing and huge volume, and staff were very helpful to meet my requests. My room was massive, but seating ideas might be required for more than 2 travelers. The internet worked perfectly, and enough pressure of the hot water.
Cons: It’s a bit off from the main square, and particularly the first 2 blocks to the center were sort of deserted and I worried a bit to walk back in the evening. It was probably the off season but the pool wasn’t maintained.

Cons: The staff was responsive and helpful when asked, but could have done more to help us navigate the city given mobility issues that one in our party had.
4.0 Okay
Pros: It is really hard to say, but the staff were nice but still failed in the competence.
Cons: Everything in a nutshell, the room we paid for on booking.com was still under renovation and we had to pay for an upgrade to the 17th floor with the awful American-breakfast. The eggs scrambled eggs were cold and not properly cooked and we had to ask that they be put in a microwave. The room we upgraded to had a tiny window.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The buffet was excellent as was the wait staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the fact the hotel is quiet and the beach is beautiful. This was a pleasure trip, but I also stay here for company business. The staff is attentive and friendly.
Cons: My stay was perfect 👌
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice lobby, and fine breakfast. Friendly staff. Free use of parking garage.
Cons: Had to ask three times before they fixed the bathtub so I couldn’t use the bath until my last day. Water pressure very low. AC did not work. And rooms aren’t isolated at all so you can hear you neighbors and people in the hallways. Definitely not worth the cost.

Explore historic Yucatán and the tree-lined splendor of Paseo de Montejo, once Mexico’s wealthiest district. This Merida luxury hotel is also well placed to explore the area’s fascinating heritage, including Uxmal and the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza.
6.2 Good
Pros: Location, quietness
Cons: Bathroom, a/c, concierge service, quality
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, service and food
Cons: Room location 231 quite noisy coming from crowd at the bar in lobby and slightly bad smell of hotel in 2nd floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome hotel. Like staying in a museum.
Cons: No fridge in room unless you unlocked mini bar.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Lobby is not beautiful and it was full of big “art objects” occupying the space
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is great, very clean, great location, anazing rooms, amazing breakfast. All the staff members are very helpful, always there to help you!
Cons: However, not all the staff members speak a good English. Some of them find it difficult to explain even simple things.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: Overcharged £160 and when I questioned it I was told I was wrong three times despite showing 3 emails and my bank statement to prove I had already paid. Totally unacceptable customer service. The pool has no sun at any point of the day. Mini bar advertised with the room, non existent at all. Paid for a film to watch couldn’t watch it due to poor connection.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It is a luxury hotel with plenty of additional services and amenities at (close to) Mexican prices. The location of it is very convenient, right at the beginning of one main street with lots of cafes and eateries, leading into historic Merida.
Cons: The swimming pool area was a bit of a disappointment. It is a very small deck with like 6 loungers crammed right between the hotel wings. No sun reaches there at any time and having two people on the deck already feels crowded so don't count on using it. Also, the WiFi signal was strong everywhere but the connection was inconsistent, constantly cutting out for short periods of time. Checking mail and messaging was fine, but not good at all for VoIP calls or god forbid, streaming.
6.2 Good
Pros: Location, easy check-in, check-out, breakfast buffet
Cons: Bathroom design, surroundings outside window
6.3 Good
Pros: THE BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT. THE HOTEL IS WELL LOCATED. BUT THE BUILDING, ELEVATORS, POOL, ROOM SERVICES ARE OLD AND SLOW. THE POOL TOO SMALL AND THE LOBBY BAR TO SMALL ALSO. I WOULD RATHER STAY AT THE FIESTA AMERICANA ONE BLOCK AWAY NEXT TIME AND I AM AN IHG MEMBER.
Cons: THE ROOM TOO LOUSY, IT WAS COMMUNICATED WITH THE OTHER ROOM.THE LIGHTING IS OLD. THERE IS NO SERVIBAR SERVICE. AND THE ROOM SERVICE IS TOO SLOW. THE POOL IS TOO SMALL AND A LOT OF CHILDREN FOR SUCH AN SMALL POOL. THE GYMNASIUM IS REALLY RIDICULOUS. ONLY 4 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AND NO BODY BULIDING AND IT WAS ALWAYS CLOSED AND HOT.

Pros: Food
Cons: Long walk to rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We chose the option for breakfast to be included in our stay. The breakfast was delicious, although it’s not your typical continental breakfast. It was all local and regional type food, along with some of your basics, like an omelet station. Great way to try the local food!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, great staff, clean. No negatives in my opinion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is superbly located, and paired with great service, you can't go wrong.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: I appreciated the quality of maid service. The mural was extraordinary!
Cons: The room itself had a musty smell.. a repulsive musty stench came out whenever you turned on the sink or tub faucets....the air conditioner was so loud we didn't have an uninterrupted sleep our entire stay, we reported the problem, maintenance was sent to our room but nothing was done... there is a sewage processing facility with an open sludge vat by the pool area that is separated by a fence, which explains the nasty odor that permeated the air, the restaurant service was slow and unattentive, yet they were quick to give us our bill before we were even finished with our meal. The restaurant itself was not very clean. Even though a score of 3.8 was given based on booking.com calculations, I would rate this place 2.0 based on my experience during my stay.
5.0 Okay
Pros: the pool and updated floor and lobby. the person that checked us in was very knowledgeable and pleasant. was able answer all our questions.
Cons: our room was dirty. the lamp same was dirty and on the sheets can see the dirt. our floor needed to be upgraded. the first floor was nice, bright and updated. our floor had dirty carpet and very dark.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was simpathetic to my complaints and were happy to cancel the contract without charging any fee.
Cons: The whole hotel smelled of Mold from the corridors to the rooms. Curtains were stained. Maintainance is urgently needed there. It didn't have a mini bar. It is overpriced for what it offers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff.
Cons: No free Breakfast as many other Holiday Inns in U.S.- Need to be more clear about this in Ad.

The food in the restaurant is much better than places outside and the stores stock some really beautiful pieces- do check it out. A big thank you from me to the owner and staff of Casa San Angel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is wonderful. We had a room overlooking the park, it was spacious, clean, had great a/c, the beds are super comfy and it has a great hot shower. Breakfast is huge and delicious. The cafe area is beautiful and a relaxing space to have an afternoon beer. The staff are lovely, Leo went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed for our stay and Delicia was a goldmine of information and suggestions for things to do and places to eat. The hotel is well located and an easy walk to all the main areas. If you plan to stay in Mérida then book here, we’re so glad that we did.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners and staff could not be nicer and more attentive. Great location and delicious breakfast. So happy it was recommended to me.
Cons: Steep stairs with no handrail to my room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little hotel, wonderful breakfast. Only ten minutes walk from centre of town. Leo the owner is a mine of useful information. Chill out with a beer looking out over the quiet square. We will definitely be back. Chris and Linda. Australia
Cons: Everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the Hotel La Piazetti made me feel like family. Everyone was so welcoming and the owner would sit down with me to discuss different travel options, helping me plan out days of travel to see what he thought were the best sights in the area based on what I wanted to see. And the fresh squeezed juices at breakfast and homemade mango marmalade were exceptional. And very affordable.
Cons: It was a few blocks walk to the town square which wasn't that big a deal, but just to be aware. And parking can be a little tricky around there. If the parking attendant helps you park at night, be sure to tip him about 5 pesos or so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel with attention to detail and lovely and supportive owner. Located in the city center with great value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great place with great staff! We liked it so much we went back! Exceeded our expectations with the spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable rooms. They have thought of everything you need with a comfortable bed, towels, hairdryer etc. and very importantly have thought of enough space to put your things with a table, drawer, hangers and lots of hooks for towels. The staff were really friendly and the star of the place for us was Delicia who was lovely to talk to and gave us great recommendations for our time in Merida. Thanks Delicia!

Pros: A perfect hacienda retreat. Romantic, quiet, elegant, gracious. The food was very good and the dining experience a treat. Very gracious service.
Cons: If one were to nit pick, the pool area was not serviced quite as frequently as it should have been. Pool towels were a bit difficult to come by. A house phone at the pool would be welcome. Some of the public toilets scattered on the property were not up to par. Not an issue around the restaurant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful!! Like a dream. It was clean in general. The service was good but slow. But considering they are yucas. It's expected. The food it's good but it could be better.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The receptionists speak English and are very nice and wiling to help with any problem. We have booked a room with two double beds, but since it was three of us, we've automatically received a room with an additional bed, so each of us got its own bed - that was very nice, thank you! The hotel is in a close walking distance from the main city square. The rooms actually look better than on the enclosed pictures!
Cons: The neighbourhood of the hotel is not exactly nice and doesn't feel like a city centre; it offers some cheap eating options, though. The breakfast could be much improved. The swimming pool is not very clean.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool was really nice surrounded by mosaics. Room was large and comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the pool. Loved all the frida kahlo prints in the lobby.
Cons: The surrounding area is not so nice as other parts of merida. Many Mexican hotels allow free water refills from a 5 gallon jug but not here, requiring the use of so many small plastic water bottles.
7.0 Good
Pros: What I did like ,it was like an oasis in the center of that City. ,pool area was lovely.
Cons: The hotel was okay, what I didn't like is when I left the hotel looking for a place to eat, it was extremely crowded and busy.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location and staff are very friendly. The swimming pool looks nice.
Cons: The rooms are old; the furniture is old. Though it was very clean. The breakfast is not good :( fake orange juice; fresh fruit at least but the rest was very weird (eggs looked weird; and like a mashed potato thing that didn’t look appealing at all); always the same food.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Hotel is old, rooms are dated... Breakfast is uneatable. Everything very dirty on breakfast, and no choice. Disgusting.. Also notice to the smokers : dont go to this hotel, only place you can Smoke is dirty parking lot. Avoid this hotel!

Pros: If you're looking for a clean base to rest your head at night, this is it. No frills- you get a bed and a bathroom. Staff are nice and helpful, food is good, bed was always made, and excellent location.
Cons: Noisy at times. Thin walls.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, and nice historic building
Cons: Small rooms
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The best thing about El Caribe is its location. We have been staying there for 20 years, and there is some improvement this year. The A/C is better and the bathrooms are better. When you pay little money for a room you shouldn't expect the Marriott or a similar hotel.
Cons: I think there should be a lamp on the bedside table. I know there is back lighting, but a lamp would be nice. I also think some drawers would be helpful to be able to store your clothes and not have to leave them in your suitcase.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location in the nicest square of Merida - comfortable and clean rooms, private parking spot in crowded Merida center, beautiful swimming pool with-a-view, relaxing environment and generally nice vibe.
Cons: Breakfast isn't special - and while the hotel staff is particularly nice and friendly, the bar staff doesn't really stand out.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful courtyard views Grimaldo romos. nice pool with incredible view. Comfortable beds. Very nice. Good full breakfast, help yourself. It’s a nice older hotel excellent value.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is perfect. It's on a lovely square with a Starbuck's and ice cream parlour.
Cons: Breakfast had almost no vegetarian options. They put ham in everything. Room was kind of dark. First room was small and dark with a door that didn't work so we asked for a better one and got one. Staff were not helpful on telling us where the Merida Fest events were. Room needs updating. No real window. The wi fi didn't work at all in the room.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great. It was clean and the airconditioner worked great. The hotel is in a really convenient location, easy walking distance to the main plaza and some really good restaurants. It was quiet and I had a nice balcony with a street view. I didn't swim in the pool but it looked like it was well maintained. The breakfast buffet was reasonably priced and the food was tasty
Cons: The bathroom was small but the shower always had hot water and it was clean.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and areas, close location to center square and cathedral, good breakfast
Cons: Parking 4 blocks away, credit card hold on room could not be reversed to pay in cash at time of arrival
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice rooftop lounge and good location.
Cons: Washroom was so small could do all your business at once. Rooms really aren’t what is pictured.
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful every morning. The location was very convenient since it was close to down-town.
Cons: The bath room was too small for two person.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: This was our 3rd stay at this hotel. We had such a great balcony room both other times and we tell our friends about this place being great for the price and location. I wont go in deep conversation on this experience but we WONT BE BACK EVER.. It was ugly gross tiny bathroom you have to step in shower to shut the door. The front desk guy was so rude when we told him about not getting the rooms we reserved!!! The rooms were not ready even at the 3:00 check in time. JUST TOTALLY EMBARASSED that we drug friends here with great expectations..
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All of the staff was absolutely wonderful! Extremely helpful and kind. We speak little Spanish but there was always someone to help. I would definitely use this hotel again. Great location especially if it is your first time in the area. Restaurants and convenience stores very close by. Breakfast buffet very good at about $7 US in the hotel.
Cons: Our bathroom was a bit small for my 6"4'' husband but I noticed some other rooms had larger bathrooms as we passed rooms that were being cleaned. I will request this next time we stay here. It seemed many of the rooms had different configurations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The building and facilities are not in real as sgowed in the pictures. Not beaty hotel, bathroom was too little, not comfortable and floor too noisy. I can hear qhile someone in the other room was at the phone. The parking is a nightmare experience since at the momento you arrive you cannot park so you have to take off your luggage in the middle of the street with a traffic and a very busy street. The parking lot is only 10 minutes walking from the hotel, it wouldn’t matter if the hotels would at least have some parking lots to park for a few minutes. The ones for now are very difficult to access and are blocked by the time you arrive. Too busy the lobby when breakfast in a little space. If you have a room in front of the street is very noisy and difficult to relax during the night (specially if wkeneds). Not a good experience for the value.
