Pros: The property is absolutely lovely. We used the lounge area and the pool a few times to relax after long hot days of sightseeing. The beds and linens were very comfortable. I loved the rainfall shower. Breakfast was delicious every day! And the staff were always conscious of dietary restrictions, which is a huge plus. But what stands out is how helpful and friendly the staff is. Santiago helped us so much getting around and even helped us book a car to get to Chichén-Itzá, after we realized all the tours were sold out.

Pros: Greeted by Jordy and Steve - they insisted on taking our bags to the room (and when we left, they insisted on taking the bags back to the front door).
Rooms are newly redecorated and nicely furnished.

Breakfast is excellent. Jody makes some delicious homemade cinnamon rolls. The main dish always has some local flavor.
Plenty of places to relax (siesta) in the afternoon
While pool is too small to do laps, it is very clean and personal

Cons: We knew there was none, but the lack of TV is wierd and something to keep in mind. We also knew the hotel was vegan-oriented, which is very good, but this is to keep in mind too: breakfast is all but a typical one, and if you're not vegan, you get fed up after a little while.
