Pros: I loved the set up of the room, the classical music on arrival, and the aroma (bergamot) in the room. Space and comfort was perfect after a long drive.
Cons: I could hear the guest in the next room (thin walls) and layout for using coffee/kettle could be better placed, plus the lamps in the lounge area of the room were not working for some reason.

Pros: Great staff and wonderful service always friendly and willing to help. Lovely rooms and great bar.
Cons: Like anything coild have been a bit cheaper. Had to change from sat to a friday as a wedding party had the bar booked. Found out it would have been cheaper if i cancelled then re booked.

Pros: Classy decor, clean throughout. Location is great in central manchester. Rooms are well equipped, we had cheapest room but it still had a bathroom bigger than most hotel rooms in manchester! Pros: What an absolutely fabulous themed hotel.I loved all the little additions to authenticate its namesake. I loved the newspapers pointing out the rooms. I liked the security aspects of swiping the keys to allow you to your room. The guys on consierge were so helpful and attention to detail was superb. They parked our car for us and when we got back to the hotel after shopping all day they had already put our suitcases into our car. Absolutely brilliant customer care. The girls on the reception were smilling and helpful and even though we were in a quewe they still acknowledged us. We spent a few hours in the bar upstairs and again the staff were exceptional .I have stayed in some pretty amazing hotels all around the world but this is definatly one of my favourites. The only negative I have is that our room was very small and the bed was pushed up against the wall but I was told that it was the last room in the hotel that I could book and was told that it was a small room. Overall a brilliant stay . Well done . Kind Regards Elaine Charles

Cons: We booked a suit got there realized it was small, stayed 2 nights and took an extra room.Day 3 we booked a two bedroom suit which really isn't it's just them bringing two rooms together. We were shown a suit with a balcony & since my artist is super claustrophobic and has a lot of luggage we agreed to that.Upon going to pay they claimed someone booked that particular room for 2 nights and we booked it right with them less than an hr ago for 3 nights. These super racist hotel people just because the person was black almost even lied they never showed us the room.We left the hotel and booked a huge 3 bedroom penthouse suit somewhere else.Mind u we had no issues we these people we just decided to leave after realizing it was more of a racist thing, I forgot to mention their services suck, they barely help with anything like umbrellas and opening doors smh we never even had a conversation with any one except the manager the day we left but go this email today claiming we were rude to their guests.

Pros: Lovely building in a good location
Cons: Fire alarm at 3am, squeaky floorboards in room above kept us awake most of the night - no double glazing. Lots of noise from Oxford Road into the early hours. No parking on site. Lukewarm breakfast buffet despite being first in dining room waiting for food to come out of kitchen.

Cons: The air conditioning wasn’t working in the room, and because of the size of the room it was very cold. When reception were notified they did provide a heater. The shower tap also fell off, and the water was lukewarm in the morning. To be fair to the hotel when I told them this in the morning on checkout that did take some money from the total bill.

Pros: Fast, tasty room service. Staff were professional.
Cons: Radiators in room were on, on hottest day of the year the staff could have done more to turn it off. Construction happening outside room from early morning so could not open window either, no transfer offered. The room was nowhere near a 'deluxe' room.

Pros:
Cons: The fire alarm went on twice at mid-night and there was no clear explanation at all. I had to ask when I checked out to find out what happened last night and the receptionist told me it was gas leaking and there was no sincere apologies for that when she told me what happened. I was expecting a relaxing night instead I didn’t sleep well at all.

Pros: The double tree is a nice hotel at first glance. I found the staff at the front desk were not the most welcoming but that wasn't the biggest problem. The room was comfortable for the most part and me and my companion were looking foward to a nice stay.
Cons: The shower had two choices, freeze or burn. It was nearly impossible to get the shower at a normal temperature which was a huge issue. But we were only there for 2 nights so decided it would be better to give it another try than moving rooms. On our second night which was a Saturday we were awoken at 4 am by a group of drunk girls that were screaming down the hallway. I felt like I was transported to the worst spring break all inclusive. I called the reception 3 times and in all fairness they came up every time to get those stupid girls to shut up. Then their guy friends came from the party minutes later and started retaliating to help their skanky girlfriends. They were standing outside of our door yelling obscenities. I called again and eventually the noise stopped but at that point I had one more hour before having to get on a train to the airport so my entire night was ruined. While they were definitely responsive to the times I called they should have kicked these people out. What kind of reputation do you want to have? I know that on my next visit to Manchester staying at the double tree and staying at the hatters is pretty much the same. If you want to maintain an upscale reputation then be more selective about who you let stay in you hotel or at the very least have your front staff make the rules clear when these drunken idiots tumble in through the door of your hotel.

Cons: I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms in the hotel. The lobby area has been renovated recently but the carpets and rooms seemed dirty and already dated. The bed was also uncomfortable.

Pros: Breakfast choice is great and relaxed atmosphere sets you up for the day. Bed was super comfy.
Cons: Traffic is a good wake up call.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location mainly
Cons: The shower was super temperamental, too hot or cold. Also I did not have a remote in my room therefore couldn’t operate tv. Not good after long day and when I called reception I was told I should have one and to look for it. Assuming I hadn’t already looked. Was a little dated and toilet would not flush. Not in keeping with cost, stayed at much better in Manchester.

Pros: Close to the trains. Clean. Excellent staff.
Cons: Rooms are tiny. Bathroom is like a cruise ship's.

My room was large, sumptuous and beautifully quiet. Ample desk and coffee table space with several arm chairs, and a dressing area, beyond which was the spacious en-suite bathroom. Pros: The breakfast was excellent and all embers of staff were very attentive and helpful. The location is excellent for the city centre. At a reasonable charge for a city centre (£17.50 24hrs) your car is parked securely for you and returned when ready to leave.
Cons: Nothing - very happy with the whole experience.
7.7 Good
Pros: Service. Upgrade to suite. Although they didn't bring the car round to reception like last time.
Cons: Noisy, roadworks, wedding party again. Same as last time. Disco till all hours.
Hotel parking is £17. If you are paying £160 to stay there, the parking should be free. Where else do they expect you to park except the hotel you are staying with?
Bathrooms are tiny.
Breakfasts are very pricey.
So for £160....a bed, yes comfy, a small bathroom, and a noisy nights sleep.
If parking had been included, and breakfast, would be different.
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was good although building work nearby was a pain.
Cons: The shower was cold and therefore i would not go back here. This is a essential for me.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of character with the building.
Cons: A bit expensive. No courtesy bottled water.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good clean facilities
Cons: Too noisy from early morning to late evening and beyond. Complains to night staff and promised someone from management would speak to me about the problem! Still waiting for that conversation, checked out and not mentioned intend to follow it up directly with Marriot
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff
Cons: Good but currently surrounded by a lot of building works and no mini bar or fridges in the rooms
8.0 Excellent
Pros: all round good service
Cons: Probably good do with a decorate in some areas

Pros: Great location, easy to walk to town and pretty local to train station too.
Cons: Breakfast wasn’t great, we came in late and had to buzz to get in.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Central location
Cons: Very dirty and rundown. Sofa in room was so dirty I couldn’t sit on it and had to ask for it to be replaced. Carpets were dirty and stained. Rooms in desperate need of refurbishment and not worth the money - I paid £300 for the night. Not worth more than £50 for the night. Television was not working properly and room was noisy when I clearly specified I wanted a quiet one. There was no place at the restaurant so had to eat bar food. The restaurant manager was rude and unaccommodating. The bar on the top floor was fully prebooked so couldn’t enjoy a drink there.

Pros: Everything. Staff we’re extremely pleasant and efficient. Room was lovely with a great view. Pool and hydro pool was fantastic. Maybe not for everyone but for us yes
Cons: The only thing I didn’t like was the pillows and for someone who has a disability due to her spine comfort I extremely important. But when to told about a problem it was sorted immediately
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely staff, modern and clean guest areas, great breakfast
Cons: The hotel room wasn’t very clean and I didn’t feel it was ‘Hilton’ standards. Dirty stains on carpet, bathroom wasn’t very clean and the toilet smelt and as soon as you walked in the room the smell hit you, only four sachets if milk so we could only have one hot drink each ( no biscuits). We only stayed for one night as a treat for our wedding anniversary, we have an eight month old baby so was looking forward to no early wake up call, however the house keeper knocked on our door at 8:30am to clean our room but check out isn’t until 12 noon. The hotel did however refund me £11.00
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: The cost to park a car was exorbitant.

Pros: Good location and nice staff
Cons: My bathroom had a very musty smell
3.1 Mediocre
Pros: The room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: The Parking was extortionate in price, not that there was any space to park which was ridiculous!
Got to the hotel and found out there was a £20 charge for using the spa facilities which were 4 tiny rooms which were not appropriate in terms of temperature as you would expect a steam room or a sauna to be!
There was no pool or other spa facilities apart from these 4 rooms for which the price was ridiculous!
The lady at the spa reception didnt charge us thankfully as less than 10 mins into the quite dim, squashed and awfully miniature "spa" me and my husband were out of there very disappointed in having paid extortionate prices for the stay and then the parking issue and then on top of that the sadly tarnished expectations of the spa!
We left the hotel the same night we checked in without staying at the hotel just flavergasted with the lack of explanation in regards to the facities and staff demeanour and attitude.

Pros: Perfect location, very roomy corridors, excellent lifts, very helpfull staff. Excellent sleep.
Cons: The rooms could have more lights in them. The Breakfast table is set far too high, the lids on the pots are far too heavy, I consider this to be very dangerous to persons of a height disadvantage.

Pros: Breakfast was ok.
Cons: The heating in our room did not work. Had to request a heater was did not get hot. We also got an extra blanket to try and keep warm The day after checking out I had £80 taken out of my account by the Hotel. This was a mistake but it would take 3-4 days to get my money back!! Plus I incurred a bank charge which they refused to re-imburse. Not happy at all.

Pros: On arrival, the check-in process was very speedy and straightforward. We found the room to be very clean but smaller than we'd expected but this didn't matter as we were only staying for one night. The buffet breakfast was very tasty and had plenty variety.
Cons: The mattress and pillows were a little hard. The main issue we had though was that people in the next room complained about us being too noisy. We had returned to our room at 11.30 pm and were chatting with the TV on for half an hour - we were definitely NOT making a lot of noise with our voices and the TV volume was quite low. I would therefore suggest the rooms are inadequetely sound proofed

Also at breakfast ,the melon was hard, we had to wait for eggs and bacon and when they eventually arrived the server had a unfortunate attitude. Also you need to have more more llights in the car park ,my husband fell over a step which wasn't lit and cut his head .

Pros: Grand staircase, would have been lovely to visit in the 50's.
Cons: Really dated. Room smelled like weed. I say in manchester monthly and for the price I paid I could stay at the crowne plaza with change. Unfortunately the crowne plaza was full. I would say it would be worth staying here for £40 per night including breakfast. Because breakfast isn't that great either.

Pros: The location and thats it
Cons: Everything else. Staff unfriendly, filthy, uncomfortable beds, bad breakfast, water stopped running after 18:00, kitchen almost no materials and nasty.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: When checked in, we got the double room so therefore it was the more expensive room. When we got to the room it hadn't been cleaned, the beds still had the bed clothes on from the previous people, rubbish all over the room and the window was broken so it was freezing all night. When I went to reception to get this sorted I was asked did i want a refund as there was nothing else the lady could do because she tried to ring the cleaners and the manager but the wouldnt answer there phones. We waited for an extra hour so the room could be cleaned. When it was "cleaned" it was still very very poor standards. There were grapes lying on the floor and the rubbish had actually just been moved from the room to the hallway outside the room. In general the whole place was filthy. I would highly recommend anybody considering staying here to look elsewhere in Manchester.
