Pros: The cleansers were super nice people Dear Madame. Cons: We booked a suit got there realized it was small, stayed 2 nights and took an extra room.Day 3 we booked a two bedroom suit which really isn't it's just them bringing two rooms together. We were shown a suit with a balcony & since my artist is super claustrophobic and has a lot of luggage we agreed to that.Upon going to pay they claimed someone booked that particular room for 2 nights and we booked it right with them less than an hr ago for 3 nights. These super racist hotel people just because the person was black almost even lied they never showed us the room.We left the hotel and booked a huge 3 bedroom penthouse suit somewhere else.Mind u we had no issues we these people we just decided to leave after realizing it was more of a racist thing, I forgot to mention their services suck, they barely help with anything like umbrellas and opening doors smh we never even had a conversation with any one except the manager the day we left but go this email today claiming we were rude to their guests.

Pros: The double tree is a nice hotel at first glance. I found the staff at the front desk were not the most welcoming but that wasn't the biggest problem. The room was comfortable for the most part and me and my companion were looking foward to a nice stay.
Cons: The shower had two choices, freeze or burn. It was nearly impossible to get the shower at a normal temperature which was a huge issue. But we were only there for 2 nights so decided it would be better to give it another try than moving rooms. On our second night which was a Saturday we were awoken at 4 am by a group of drunk girls that were screaming down the hallway. I felt like I was transported to the worst spring break all inclusive. I called the reception 3 times and in all fairness they came up every time to get those stupid girls to shut up. Then their guy friends came from the party minutes later and started retaliating to help their skanky girlfriends. They were standing outside of our door yelling obscenities. I called again and eventually the noise stopped but at that point I had one more hour before having to get on a train to the airport so my entire night was ruined. While they were definitely responsive to the times I called they should have kicked these people out. What kind of reputation do you want to have? I know that on my next visit to Manchester staying at the double tree and staying at the hatters is pretty much the same. If you want to maintain an upscale reputation then be more selective about who you let stay in you hotel or at the very least have your front staff make the rules clear when these drunken idiots tumble in through the door of your hotel.

Pros: The Midland Hotel is an impressive building in an excellent location. I found the staff invariably professional, courteous and attentive at all times, no matter what their area of expertise. My room was large, sumptuous and beautifully quiet. Ample desk and coffee table space with several arm chairs, and a dressing area, beyond which was the spacious en-suite bathroom. Plenty of available electrical outlets, good sized TV, mini fridge, tea/coffee facilities and sparkly glassware rounded off the in-room facilities very nicely. Room service food was priced fairly and arrived promptly and piping hot.
Cons: There could have been better / more lighting in the dressing area in order to take advantage of the full length mirrors. And the air-conditioning controls were a bit fiddly to adjust - a remote control might have been a better option.

Pros: The room was comfortable and clean.
Cons: The Parking was extortionate in price, not that there was any space to park which was ridiculous! Got to the hotel and found out there was a £20 charge for using the spa facilities which were 4 tiny rooms which were not appropriate in terms of temperature as you would expect a steam room or a sauna to be! There was no pool or other spa facilities apart from these 4 rooms for which the price was ridiculous! The lady at the spa reception didnt charge us thankfully as less than 10 mins into the quite dim, squashed and awfully miniature "spa" me and my husband were out of there very disappointed in having paid extortionate prices for the stay and then the parking issue and then on top of that the sadly tarnished expectations of the spa! We left the hotel the same night we checked in without staying at the hotel just flavergasted with the lack of explanation in regards to the facities and staff demeanour and attitude.

Pros: On arrival, the check-in process was very speedy and straightforward. We found the room to be very clean but smaller than we'd expected but this didn't matter as we were only staying for one night. The buffet breakfast was very tasty and had plenty variety.
Cons: The mattress and pillows were a little hard. The main issue we had though was that people in the next room complained about us being too noisy. We had returned to our room at 11.30 pm and were chatting with the TV on for half an hour - we were definitely NOT making a lot of noise with our voices and the TV volume was quite low. I would therefore suggest the rooms are inadequetely sound proofed

Pros: I really didn't like any aspect of this hotel or my stay there.
Cons: No outlets by the bed - I have a CPAP machine and the staff was completely baffled as to how to solve my problem. My traveling companion insisted on an extension cord, which they were eventually able to provide, but this is the first hotel EVER in my experience where there were no outlets by the bed. The beds were sized for children, not adults, and were in dismal shape. The rooms were too small to allow for much movement, I had booked a single room with two beds, and the staff screwed up our reservation and put us in two separate rooms. I'm deaf and depended on my companion to assist me, so this left me in a bad place. Both of our rooms were directly above a nightclub - neither of us could get any sleep until the club closed at 2:30. And I didn't need to hear the music booming up from downstairs - the entire room vibrated. The entire place felt worn out, old, and used. The chairs in the lobby had cracked vinyl, and it felt like a dump. Our stay was ruined because of our lack of sleep, the management only offered a measly 10% discount (we're asking for a full refund from the owners), and we ended up returning to London early because we were both so tired and fed up. Stay away from this place - it markets itself on character and charm, but it's only surface veneer - it has neither.

After some complaining at the reception they eventually moved us but the room was now a double instead of a twin which they'd told us it would be at reception.
