The lobby and other common areas - including the spa - are beautiful and very clean. The spa has a nice atmosphere with drinks and snacks on offer. I loved the green garden view from the spa, very relaxing. The breakfast was amazing and service good!

Cons: We had an unfortunate start, as our room was missing bathrobes, the king bed sheet had a big rip on it and the table had no chairs to go with it. They immediately fixed this upon mentioning, with a nice note and chocolates to compensate. Some furniture were clearly worn out and stained. Shower nobs accidentally came of whilst turning. The lights and TV functions were a little too clever for their own good - it took us several minutes to find TV channels and to turn the TV off, on both nights. We don't generally struggle with such things... I feel they spent too much effort on the wrong things. We would've loved to have spent some time at the roof terrace, even if the pool was closed for winter. It's unfortunate that we couldn't enter that area. Spa services were priced way over what we're used to seeing in Finland, which was quite a shock. For more moderate prices, I would've loved to have booked massages.

Pros: My husband and I stayed here on the last day of our honeymoon and it was lovely. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but by no means cramped and very clean, done in a beautiful light blue, light green, and white palette. The lobby is spacious with lovely green tile. The staff was very friendly and helped suggest an affordable local restaurant nearby, which was delicious. We didn't have a chance to go in the pool, but the staff let us in to look at it after it had closed, which was very nice. It looked very lovely as well. We didn't have a lot of money to spend and found a great deal and were treated very well by the staff.

Pros: We had a smooth check in and check out experience. The service from the doorman, concierge, receptionists, room service and spa all exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was definitely worth having with your booking. There is a big variety of hot food to cold food and the service once again, was excellent. Comfy beds and room is well equipped with robes, slippers, hairdryers, coffee&tea making facilities, desk, towels and toiletries. The one thing that stood out to me was the bathroom. Water pressure and temperature was extremely good - you can adjust it to whatever your preference. Water pressure is strong and the shower has 2 types of shower heads. Rook service food was prompt and good quality. We had deep tissue massages at the spa and it was one of the best massage I have had in a long time. All in all, everything was spectacular and I would definitely recommend this hotel to travellers who seek amazing location, wonderful service and live up to the expectations of 5 stars hotel.

Cons: Although I checked in on line a day before arrival, our room was not ready. When they gave us a key, someone was in the room.
Finally when we finally got in the room, it was not the twin beds I had requested.
The last full day we were there, we came back to find a key in the electric switch.
This hotel is very careless about keys.
Prices for breakfast in the hotel were ridiculous.

Cons: The view on our room (one of the cheapest ones) did not have a good view, but I guess that is to be expected (it looked out over some flat rooftops with astroturf). One small thing, when we went out during the day my husband was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and one the doormen sort of implied that he was looking for the wrong building, but it wasn't overtly rude, he just tried to stop him and ask if he could help direct him before he went in the door.

Cons: When we (group of six people) book with paid in full and check in to hotel, we DID NOT know that we have to pay the taxes 2 euros per day and the person help to check in did not mention that either.
After we signed our name on the card which we DID NOT see the taxes 2 euros per day on the card, but when we check out someone put that taxes 2 euros per day on the card afterward. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS THE MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.
They can put any amount on the card after we signed.
We REFUSED to pay the taxes. I hope that the hotel do not charge us.

Cons: Eighth floor is very noisy over New Year as a result of the 9th floor bar. Bathroom a bit faded. Toilet needed Attention. Even As a resident, unable to get reservation in an in-house restaurant. Plastic found in food- no apologies or gestures from any senior staff members. Nespresso machine and complimentary capsules in room, but no milk- €4.00 for a glass of milk via room service, seems a bit excessive.

Cons: Staff is ok, but the so called lady executive mgr was not friendly and not try to solve problems. She did not try to make a six dollar error on a 3 nite stay. She said that mistake had to make by their executive DIRECTOR . That six dollar had to charge when we check out( they did not tell us when we checked in. And our was a PREPAID stay).
The washing sink basin was made of kind of soft pastic( in a 4, 5 star hotel ??).

We have stayed here before about 2 years ago and it was just a nice as it was then. The buffet breakfast is good an has a wide variety of different choices. We don't each much for breakfast so we found it better value for us to buy a pastry and coffee from a coffee shop just around the corner.

Cons: I ended up at the Altis after a very long day of travel and a disastrous Airbnb experience left me and my friends without a place to stay. Desperate, we found the Altis on Kayak with a 5-star rating and were willing to put a little extra money in given how nice the place looked in the app. Unfortunately, this ended up being a terrible experience. The staff was extremely slow and unhelpful, making us wait a very long time to get to our rooms after a very long day. Moreover, the rooms bore absolutely no resemblance to the photos we saw on the app - they were outdated, dingy, and dirty. There were hairs in our showers, and the floors were stained. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The wifi didn't work, coming in and out every few minutes. In fact, we ended our stay early given how bad the conditions were - though it took ages to do so at reception. There is no way this hotel is 5 stars and it should not be advertised as such. Personally, I would like for the hotel to compensate me in some way for such a misleading and poor experience.

I left a night earlier than my reservation. I hated this hotel. Waste of money. This hotel and its area are not at all a true representation of Lisbon or Portugal at all.

We thought that the staff didn;t seem overly friendly no smiles apart from a lovely girl serving breakfast Renate who helped us with suggestions for travel etc the doorman never said hello the reception staff let you wait before they served you - maybe that in normal in Portugal but no one really seemed happy .

Food is good quality and presentable,if a little pricey. €6.00 for a large beer.€26.00 for an average Rose wine, and not the one we ordered. Breakfast is taken in the basement, not on the what would be obvious ground floor dining area, again a reasonable choice but certainly not even 4 star standards. There has to be an economy drive on currently, as the dining room was chilly each morning and bedroom cold at night. The heating system when used,actually lowered the temp. of our room rather than increased it. An 'engineer' sorted it on the first day, but from then on it did not work even on max. settings. The lifts can be temperamental and you could get stuck in one for a few minutes, if your pass card malfunctions. Try not to panic. The hotel location is ideal for metro and bus connections although we preferred walking each day. It's about 45 - 50 minutes to the centre. 10 minutes to El Corte Inglis, which has a fabulous 7th. floor. Well worth a visit.

Cons: Our first room was very loud - because of traffic noise, but mainly because construction/renovation work was ongoing in the upper storeys. Cons: Only one small thing. I like coffee and milk on arrival, when I wake up, when I am lazing about... I like coffee and milk. But the chambermaid doesn't leave more than 2 or 3 sachets and 3 milk pots. I just wanted double that and a big box in reception so I could pop down and just ask for more if necessary. I know this is only a small thing and not worth troubling anybody but it would have helped me personally. Other than that I had no complaints at all.

Cons: My family of 4 were booked in two rooms with me & my wife in one and two boys in another. After a couple of days my youngest son aged 20 joined us and I wanted to accommodate him in the same room with my other two sons with an extra bed. However, the hotel staff did not allow that saying extra bed were provided only to smaller children. So, I had to hire another room for 2 daysStay.

Cons: The overall condition of the hotel was poor, quite dirty and the rooms (we asked for a change) were quite "beaten up". The carpets were stained, dust everywhere and the bathrooms need a good cleaning with new caulking in around the shower.The staff we found to have "low moral" which may be a direct result from poor management. Which is quite disappointing as some were quite nice. It just seems like the owners of the hotel (who ever they may be) have given up in terms of the basics. Not a 5 star by all means; this hotel needs a big wake up!

Only they asked for money (city taxes) You need to climb a 100-150m hill (40% incline) to get there. Well, most of the city is like this. On the top floor of the building there are many apartments and all very small, even we were in the biggest room, still. The lighting is depressing and the bed sheets and linen need to be cleaner. There are multiple code locks to get into the building, into the floor and into your room, and up to the terrace which has no views are nothing there. This place needs maintenance.

With easy access to the city center, and close to the airport. The breakfast was the nicest Novotel breakfast I've had. Made to order omelettes and a variety of nice food. Clean rooms and a good rate for when we were there.

Pros: Some staffs on the breakfast are nice, others are not at all. The staff that come to unblock the sink was incredible, she was taking 2 lids and an lolly ice stick from the blocked sink with her fingers. The sink was blocked and smelling bad. The towels are good the bed is confortable. The playground for small kids is ok.

Cons: We understand the reservation was booked for the incorrect date. We contacted hotel to request a cancellation without penalty; however, they were not able to make an exception to cancellation policy which makes your reservation non-refundable.

Cons: The view isn't pretty, and the area of town is just so so right around the hotel. But when you are in a big city you can't expect too much more.

Cons: EXTREMELY dirty carpets all over the hotel, the room had a certain stench, , they charge 3 Euros for almost anything in the mini bar , If it wasn't for the filthy carpets in the room and throughout the hotel, I would have felt more comfortable. See the carpets in the picture.

Cons: Air-conditioning did not work well so the room was very hot and was kept awake by the sound of doors closing and other hotel rooms. Hotel would be wise to invest in some little rubber bumpers to keep the doors from slamming closed

Cons: The internet connection is extremely slowly. So if you need work in this place forget it. The size of the queue for the breakfast was ridiculous on Saturday. People would wait around 20/30 minutes. It was like an ant house. They probably may fit a thousand people in 11 floors. The juices are not natural. No much Vegan options. For no vegan people it is good. The Gym was out of order and the pool was closed. When we use the filter looking for a place with a gym and swimming pool the booking.com gave me this option. The booking.com is very neglected too as I sent a complain to them and they didn't care at all. We chose this place because the pool and Gym for exercising too. I am still waiting for some answer about my query from booking.com for sell a place with no pool and gym when it has been promised through the filter system. The view from the windows are not nice at all.
