Pros: The location was quirky but just what we wanted. Old narrow cobbled streets, interesting houses , the view from the 3rd floor terrace was wonderful and that from the street facing terrace bar/.dining lively and interesting. The castello a short walk and transport nearby was tram or bus not to mention the tuktuks. Taxis were also prevalent. Breakfast was good. Other meals acceptable but not brilliant. Staff were very helpful and we even met the owner, something you don't often have the pleasure of in hotels.

Pros: We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and we do not regret it one bit! The location and very attentive staff of the hotel made this experience an unforgettable one We were surprised by a cake - a very delicious one from the delightful restaurant and bakery at the hotel called Audrey’s- from the staff which we could not get over how heavenly it tasted, when we asked where they got the cake from they sent us another one to the room on the house! The room was always kept neat and clean, the receptionists were always happy to help and guide us around the city. Thank you Santiago De alfama hotel for the remarkable experience

Pros: So many nice little extras to make us feel welcome- snacks in the lobby and hallway; the guided tour by customer service manager was a lot of fun and informative. Pros: This hotel is truly unique and absolutely exceptional. The location is great - walking distance to all attractions. People are so genuinely friendly. There are complimentary snacks, wine and tapas tasting and most importantly a 2 hours walking tour provided by Philipe that shows you the unique places in Lisbon from the local perspective. I wish my stay was longer. I am definitely coming back and bringing my family.

Pros: The best of this hotel is their staff - very polite and friendly. Once arrived they have upgraded our room and gave us a very spacious suite - that was a great start for our first trip in Lisbon, our room was super cozy, bathroom was super clean and had all the necessary appliances including the curling iron for ladies. The Corpo Santo hotel is nice and clean, but don’t expect a big posh lobby like in other 5 star hotels. We also enjoyed our breakfasts at the hotel and 24 hour drinks and snacks at the lobby.

Cons: Probably a bigger and more stylish lobby can be something for the hotel to plan.

Pros: Corpo Santo is a beautiful hotel. The facilities are well kept and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is lovely with a wonderful assortment and service. The hotel is well located. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Nice, homey touches include: snacks and beverages in the lobby, nightly popcorn, sometimes wine tastings and appetizers, and free ice cream.
Cons: The rooms that face the main street are very noisy if the windows are left opened. We arrived to Lisbon on an overnight international flight in the morning before check-in time at the hotel. The staff was nice enough to give us a room as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the room we were given was on the second floor facing the main street where the the old fashioned and modern trams and buses all stopped. It was impossible to sleep in a stuffy room and we couldn't sleep with the street noise all through the night. We asked about the air conditioning and was told housekeeping will turn it on, but either the AC didn't work or had been de-commissioned for the season because the AC was never on. With the exception of the poor location of our room, we really liked the hotel and would recommend it. When booking, travelers should consider requesting a room that doesn't face the main street unless street noise is not a problem for them.

Cons: The only minor issue was that we asked for an official taxi to the airport (which cost 10-12 euro one way), instead the hotel booked some other taxi which costs 20 euro but the driver agreed on 18 euro. It’s better to use the official city taxi or Uber etc.

Pros: View was excellent Restaurant was very good Staff were very helpful , especially concierge Room was quiet
Cons: Buffet : anything outside of the buffet takes a long time and is not consistent. Bathroom "his and hers" sinks were much too confined - set between a pillar and the wall. TV (pop up) was too small and inconvenient Housekeeping was inconsistent : half the time no face towels, coffee & milk not necessarily replaced Being told they would not give an iron to the room due to Fire Safety was absurd.

Pros: My husband and I stayed here on the last day of our honeymoon and it was lovely. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but by no means cramped and very clean, done in a beautiful light blue, light green, and white palette. The lobby is spacious with lovely green tile. The staff was very friendly and helped suggest an affordable local restaurant nearby, which was delicious. We didn't have a chance to go in the pool, but the staff let us in to look at it after it had closed, which was very nice. It looked very lovely as well. We didn't have a lot of money to spend and found a great deal and were treated very well by the staff.

Our price, thanks you, was wonderful.
Cons: Although I checked in on line a day before arrival, our room was not ready. When they gave us a key, someone was in the room.
Finally when we finally got in the room, it was not the twin beds I had requested.
The last full day we were there, we came back to find a key in the electric switch.
This hotel is very careless about keys.
Prices for breakfast in the hotel were ridiculous.

Cons: The view on our room (one of the cheapest ones) did not have a good view, but I guess that is to be expected (it looked out over some flat rooftops with astroturf). One small thing, when we went out during the day my husband was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and one the doormen sort of implied that he was looking for the wrong building, but it wasn't overtly rude, he just tried to stop him and ask if he could help direct him before he went in the door.

Cons: When we (group of six people) book with paid in full and check in to hotel, we DID NOT know that we have to pay the taxes 2 euros per day and the person help to check in did not mention that either.
After we signed our name on the card which we DID NOT see the taxes 2 euros per day on the card, but when we check out someone put that taxes 2 euros per day on the card afterward. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS THE MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.
They can put any amount on the card after we signed.
We REFUSED to pay the taxes. I hope that the hotel do not charge us.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location for getting around Lisb on Excellent staff very attentive. Great room service Beds amazingly comfortable & deluxe rooms very quiet. Only downside for my husband only Super Bock beer & he’s a Sagres man.
Cons: No Sagres
5.7 Okay
Pros: Clean and location
Cons: Staff is ok, but the so called lady executive mgr was not friendly and not try to solve problems. She did not try to make a six dollar error on a 3 nite stay. She said that mistake had to make by their executive DIRECTOR . That six dollar had to charge when we check out( they did not tell us when we checked in. And our was a PREPAID stay).
The washing sink basin was made of kind of soft pastic( in a 4, 5 star hotel ??).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. the omelette is fantastic!
Cons:

Cons: Took us a while to figure out how to operate the room’s internal air conditioning system, it was either too cold or too hot. The water replenished everyday was surely not enough for two people, wish they provided more for free. Very small selection of snacks and drinks in the room. Not enthusiastic about the quality of the food offered (we had lunch and breakfast once), certain things tasted a bit funny.

Pros:
Cons: I ended up at the Altis after a very long day of travel and a disastrous Airbnb experience left me and my friends without a place to stay. Desperate, we found the Altis on Kayak with a 5-star rating and were willing to put a little extra money in given how nice the place looked in the app. Unfortunately, this ended up being a terrible experience. The staff was extremely slow and unhelpful, making us wait a very long time to get to our rooms after a very long day. Moreover, the rooms bore absolutely no resemblance to the photos we saw on the app - they were outdated, dingy, and dirty. There were hairs in our showers, and the floors were stained. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The wifi didn't work, coming in and out every few minutes. In fact, we ended our stay early given how bad the conditions were - though it took ages to do so at reception. There is no way this hotel is 5 stars and it should not be advertised as such. Personally, I would like for the hotel to compensate me in some way for such a misleading and poor experience.

Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Concierge staff were terrific, location of the hotel was close enough to many sights, breakfast was amazing
Cons: Booked a superior room with courtyard view, got a small bed and not view to speak of
Other hotels we stayed in Paris or Warsaw offer complimentary water, here it’s only one time on arrival and they don’t advertise it unless you ask
8.0 Excellent
Pros:
Cons: on the moment that we arrived they where busy with work in a room above out room, that was not funny.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, clean hotel and breakfast was good.
Cons: Rooms aren’t sound proof and we were able to hear the noise from the next room.

The fitness center was not very large but all equipment seemed to be in working order. Location was good with a short walk to the main avenue.
Cons: An unmistakable whiff of moisture/mould from the bathroom/shower in my room. Gym seemed to lack "rules of conduct". People making loud phone- and even videocalls in a (small) gym should not be tolerated.

Pros: We liked the location and the Staff were very helpful. The staff did everything they said they would do and we appreciated their positivity and quick response concerning the bed..
Cons: The bathroom was too small for 2 people. The mattress had to be turned or replaced( not sure which one) because it had dips on both sides.
The restaurant was over priced. The one dinner we had was very good and the presentation was beautiful, however, for 2 vodka tonics with absolute vodka cost 34 euro and the lobster salad, while beautifully presented, was 19 euro for 2 small claws and some greens.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. The breakfast was plentiful and included in the price of my room. There is a large buffet and you can also order off of a menu at no extra cost. The resturant for dinner was excellent as was the food served in the bar. All staff were helpful.
Cons: Service in bar could be hard to get, sometimes waiting for 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged. I think this is due to both low staffing and lay out. If the staff doesn't look around you won't be seen due to pillars and nooks.

Pros: Location is excellent, close to the underground entrance (two lines). The room was very clean and staff polite. Lovely food for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location of the hotel was very good. The breakfast was also very good.
Cons: The rooms was VERY small and tight. The room also had an order that was not pleasant. The door lock mechanism was broken when we arrived.
6.7 Good
Pros: The breakfast is good. The bellboys are helpful and nice.
Cons: The staffs from front desk are impolite, the service is inefficient, it took one hour to process check-in. The hotel facilities are very old.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff really enjoyed our stay
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff were very nice and the location is amazing both for commuting in Lisbon but also with very fast access to the highway for short trips around- e.g. to Sintra.
Cons: Clearly not really focused on service. Facilities are decent- quite basic so the price is not really justified plus charging the parking 10euro/ day over and above. The lady delivering the room service dropped a bottle of water which shattered all over the floor- I waited for 40 minutes and had to call reception 3-4 times only to get a reply that they do not have a cleaner. Not sure what I was supposed to do...as said, not very focused on service and attending to issues.
7.1 Good
Pros: Manager Nelson was terrific. Very accomendating and cheerful.
Cons: Bathtub very difficult to access.

Pros: Location was fine, walking distance to get to tours around the city and close enough to the ocean. The night I stayed property offered dinner with live fado music at night with wine included. While I didn't really enjoyed food ( it was just OK compare to other food I had in Portugal), but fado music was good and wine was fine too. For 25 euros I paid for it I was happy to get what I got and best part it was right inside of property, I didn't have to go anywhere, I was tired at the end of a day. Staff is great, helps with luggage and everything you need. Breakfast is really great. There is a very beautiful common area were they serve breakfast and I enjoyed an hour or two in front of fireplace there in the evening before dinner.

Pros: We stayed in room 2, a tiny twin (8 m²) on the ground floor adjacent to the quiet backyard where birds were singing in the morning. This rooms offers a budget opportunity to experience the charm of this 16th cent building and great team that runs it, I also like the idea of mixing travelers from the luxurious to more affordable. I cannot see any reason not to stay here, the location is great, close to Tram 28 and the metro, breakfast awesome, character unique and shared rooms (a reading room, another with fireplace) just unique. Don't miss out on this, I'm certain to return next time.

Pros: Fabulous hotel in a wonderful city! Fantastic location by Praca Luis de Camoes in the heart of Bairro Alto. We walked around the heart of Lisbon, to Baixa, Alfama etc. Loaded with character - originally a wealthy Spice Merchants house. Friendly staff, willing to chat. Great breakfast, with pianist. Fado meal one evening. Hot Tub & Massage. Our (premium) balcony room on 3rd floor was quiet. Bed was comfortable. 42 bedrooms apparently.
Excellent
8.0
Pros: Breakfast, location, cleanliness, the super helpful staff ... all of it meeting much beyond expectations. The live music with breakfast (piano one day, sax the other) was a nice touch, and the library in the evening for reading was perfect.

Cons: Room a little small, but house has a lot of history and taking into consideration a big common area I was fine. I didn't spent much time in room anyway. I read some complains about stairs, but I stayed in diamond 2 room and didn't have any issues with stairs. What could be better - would be nice if they offered an extra blanked in room - some properties offer it -have it somewhere stored in a closed if you are cold. For me it was a little cold at night. Maybe I could ask staff about it - I never did.

Cons: Stayed there for 3 nights. It was the same selection each morning. A little variety would have been nice.

Fado meal one evening. Hot Tub & Massage. Our (premium) balcony room on 3rd floor was quiet. Bed was comfortable. 42 bedrooms apparently.
Cons: Our room was 'compact' - the 'grand' old room had obviously been divided into 2 bedrooms with en-suites. Clothes storage was limited (hanging space only in wardrobe, no chest of drawers, small side tables). Other bedrooms were along a rabbit warren of stairs and corridors - all part of the character of the place. We did wonder if some guests were in another building as some arrived at breakfast in coats. There are lots of stairs to climb - although they said a lift was planned in a refurb next year or so.

Pros: Breakfast, location, cleanliness, the super helpful staff ... all of it meeting much beyond expectations. The live music with breakfast (piano one day, sax the other) was a nice touch, and the library in the evening for reading was perfect.
Cons: Not a quiet hotel, at all, and so for the light sleeper, a better spot is needed (especially for New Year’s Eve when the streets party til 6am).

Cons: Shower. Breakfast so crowded. Tv not loud enough. No English statio but news
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, the room were all great.
Cons: Kayak says there’s a free airport shuttle, which is the main reason I booked this hotel. There is a shuttle, but it’s not free. It’s 13€. If it wasn’t for that, I would have nothing bad to say.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very central, nice and clean. Good bar and staff in there lovely. Plenty of choice at breakfast
Cons: Our room was a very long walk from reception- the window in the bathroom didn’t shut so it was very cold in the room. There was a tv but despite many tries it did not work. Staff at reception weren’t interested in customer service.

Pros: Staff very helpful. Breakfast a very good choice.
Cons: I would have preferred a room on the front but otherwise very comfortable, central and clean.
6.5 Good
Pros: great location in city and re airport bus/metro transport
Cons: reception looks like an office with staff chatting and interrupting each other while tending to guests; facilities old (shower hot/cold spurts); no kettle in room, limited charging points; slow elevators; looks more like a hotel focused upon large tour groups than individuals.

Pros: This is great hotel in every way, except breakfast room. Good location, nice classic, i would say, old fashioned interior, welcoming staff.
Cons: In 5 star hotel we expect not so tiny place with lot of eaters + query of guests at entrance, who wait on tables. Also breakfast itself are pretty basic. So if You have chance, skip included breakfast! Any cafe in neighbourhood are far better choice. Also its not hotel fault, but be ready to overflying aircraft noise all time, so better take Your earplugs.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The only good thing about this hotel is it’s location
Cons: It was grubby old fashioned the bath didn’t work the front of house staff were so rude, I emailed a few times asking could we get champagne on arrival for my boyfriends birthday and nobody replied. Then the woman at the front of desk asked me for my card details “to secure the extras” - THAT I NEVER AGREED TO PAYING!!! In front of my boyfriend (it was clearly a surprise) they sent a bottle of champagne to my room that I never confirmed I would pay for and the note on it was for a totally different person - so annoying. Nobody knew what they were doing in terms of staff. It felt like a decent three star and nowhere near a five star, will never return.

Cons: The room temperature is impossible to control. I was unable to sleep the 2 nights I have been there (the goal of an hotel is to sleep, and when that is not possible there not so much left good in a hotel) even tough the hotel is clean, there is almost no amenities, just one coffee sachet, the hotel is extremely hot, minibar with not much choice and too much expensive. From all the staff I encountered only one lady was nice, all the rest are inexperienced, rude and lack of professionalism. I won’t recommend this hotel and it will be my last time in this hotel chain.

Pros: The room had its own bathroom. Tgd room was clean and comfortable. There was a blow dryer. There was an elevator. Dora, at reception was very helpful.
Cons: The suites were not well marked from the street, especially at night and the number marking was confusing as there was an 89 and an 89A. I found locating it at night on my own very stressful. I took a taxi and would not have felt safe arriving on my own to check in.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The area is safe There is hot water There is room steward service daily. Automatic window shades
Cons: I had the feeling that the owners only care about money. Overpriced. We stayed there for 4 nights. No one asked how was our stay. Only they asked for money (city taxes) You need to climb a 100-150m hill (40% incline) to get there. Well, most of the city is like this. On the top floor of the building there are many apartments and all very small, even we were in the biggest room, still. The lighting is depressing and the bed sheets and linen need to be cleaner. There are multiple code locks to get into the building, into the floor and into your room, and up to the terrace which has no views are nothing there. This place needs maintenance.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was excellent. Helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: Steps in the hallway and very small elavator (not suitable for a wheelchair - luckily I can still get up and do a few steps, but perhaps this could be indicated better ...)
7.5 Good
Pros: Free upgrade!
Cons: The bed was really small, we are both 1.90m and could bearly fit.

Pros: New renovated room all accessories first class. Located at the top floor of an old building
Cons: The WIFI did not work in the room. Staff not helpful a little walk from the center and from transportation
4.6 Okay
Pros:
Cons: We were not given with the code to open the building nor the room door, they did not answer the phone. We spent at least one hour to finally be able to get the room. It was around 10 pm, coming back from a long trip, we were very tired and were not able to get the room. The shower door does not close causing the bathroom to flood making it slippery.

Pros: We had the "attic" apartment for 7 (I think even 8 would squeeze in) and we had one bathroom and fully equiped kitchen for ourselves. The apartment is very spacious and as we were two families we loved that there were 2 separate (bed)rooms so we still could have some privacy. There is also a terrace which we unfortunately did not have a chance to use as it was raining when we were in the apartment. The hostel (for us more like 4* ! hotel) is located very close to a metro station and within a walkable distance to the centre. Nearby is Lidl and Auchan where we did our shopping for Porto wine ;-) (and other things). Our plane was leaving early in the morning and the metro starts 6:30 so we had to use the bus - 208 which stops almost in front of the hostel! (as of October 2019). Everything in this apartment exceeded our expectations and for a similar group (two families) I would not choose anything else!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds, helpful staff, easy check-in and check-out.
Cons: There was a problem with hot water when we arrived ( i guess we just unlucky )), other than that - everything was fine.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location was okay. Close to the metro and bus terminals
Cons: The hot water wasn’t working for 2 full days. Only was fixed on the last day of my stay. No compensation or anything. You can’t run a hotel without hot water. Was not happy!
7.5 Good
Pros: The early check-in (8:00)
Cons:
3.0 Mediocre
Pros:
Cons: no hot water. cement floors. no soap. bad neighborhood. decrepit furniture
4.0 Okay
Pros: Close to a subway station, relatively central location.
Cons: No hot water for the entire week. No compensation offered, nothing, not even a good explanation for what happened and when would be fixed. When asked for an invoice for my company, I received a wrong total in EUR, with a wrong card number used for the payment, took them few days to issue that. I replied that those details were wrong, asked for a new correct invoice to be issued. Never heard from the property again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Prime location
Cons: Room service very bad
7.1 Good
Pros: We were 3 days in Lisbon and the room was good. Localization was great and we had great time.
Cons: The only one thing was that was a bit loud with open window form the street
9.2 Excellent
Everything in this apartment exceeded our expectations and for a similar group (two families) I would not choose anything else!
Cons: Small issue with a slow shower water outflow was fixed by my husband when he cleaned the drain ;-) We would appreciate some tablecloth. Otherwise everything was just perfect!
