Cons: When i arrived in Seattle i was told they only had a commercial cargo van. No back seats, no windows. A white panel van for three days driving through Seattle. The only other option was to spend $40 more a day to “upgrade” to a mid size. Terrible service. Will never rent from hertz again.
Pros: Yes, everybody that we spoke with was friendly and helful
Cons: Lower prices are always accepted
Pros: Staff was friendly and the car pick-up and drop-off is seamless.
Pros: staff was great pick up and drop was fast
Cons: I reserved through priceline at a very good rate. The catch being that I could not choose car and had to accept what Hertz offered. On arrival we were told that at the rate we paid we could only get a two seat cargo van. ( which on the Hertz site goes for more than almost any other choice) There was three of us so we couldn't take the cargo van even if we wanted to. We had to pay extra for an "upgrade". It is an obvious scam. Overall the amount we paid was still reasonable but nobody likes being scammed. The car was not clean. It smelled like we were driving around in an ashtray and there were empty Bud Lite cans under the seats. Did learn something though. When you rent "offsite" instead of at the airport it is much cheaper. A $14 Uber ride to a hertz 7 miles from the airport saved us hundreds on the rental fee.
Cons: I booked this car rental for pick up at the SeaTac airport. Once I arrived, there was no rental waiting for me even though I prepaid for it. Turns out, this website booked it for the hertz in NORTHERN SEATTLE. And since my flight was delayed, I had a half an hour to get to northern seattle to pick up the car I paid for before they closed. Not to mention I had my 4 kids and husband with me. We were then stuck between a rock and a hard place, so we had to rent another car. Once trying to get a refund because of the mess up, I was told since it was after the scheduled pickup I couldn’t cancel or get my money back. We will NEVER use this website ever again. Especially for car rentals. $1000 f up.
Cons: The representative was not very friendly - "cold attitude" to questions.
Pros: Well handled by Hertz in all aspects
Cons: The car had a couple mechanical issues. Back hatch window kept opening while we were driving and we got a flat while simply driving on the road day one. The staff was not very compassionate or helpful and told us since we didn’t purchase the all inclusive insurance (which was an additional $60 a day as compared to the normal $20-$30 I’ve paid with other rental companies) that we were out of luck and the tire was our problem and if we didn’t get it fixed on our own on our vacation that it would cost us an additional $300 when we returned the car. We ultimately took and had the tire patched (for free mind you) during our road trip but it was a significant inconvenience and the staff did very little for our piece of mind. I was extremely disappointed primarily in the level of customer care and compassion, no one so much as asked us if we were ok or offered any kind of apology for the inconvenience this caused us. I would not recommend hertz and I will not be renting from them again.
Pros: The staff was helpful and the car was nice.
Cons: We expected that our car would be available at the Seattle airport, as this is what Kayak led me to believe based upon my search and specifications, but when we arrived we were told our rental location was remote and instead had to pay an additional $100 for a 3 day rental that was available at the airport. I'm very disappointed with this turn of events as I do NOT feel that KAYAK or Hertz made this clear before hand.
Pros: Nothing very rude receptionist.
Cons: Be more helpful due to pick up mistake .. gave me wrong pick up airport
Cons: Everything startn with reservations
Pros: The "needs maintenance" light was on the entire time I drove the car. I got stuck in a blizzard west of Laramie on March 10 and I couldn't figure out why the car was so helpless on the snow pack until later that night I looked at the tire tread and the tires were nearly bald. I have proof as my wife and I took pictures of the tire tread. I am disappointed that Hertz wouldn't take better care of their cars.
Cons: Keep the cars in good, safe, working condition so the driver can relax and enjoy the trip rather than worrying about the engine locking up or a tire blowing. Will likely steer clear of Hertz from now on.
