We reserved a truck two weeks ahead of time to help my mother move. Hertz features trucks on its website, complete with pricing. We got a confirmation email with a confirmation number. A couple of days before the rental we got another email, confirming the reservation and reminding us to pick up the truck. We got to the rental office at the appointed time and was told "We have no trucks." I showed them the reservation confirmation and the associate and another she called over both insisted they had no trucks. The pad on the counter that showed various vehicles available even featured trucks. They shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. another associate, overhearing the conversation, came over and said "Let me see what I can do." He began calling other hertz locations in the area and finally found one 30 miles away that had just had a truck returned. He asked them to hold it for us and we drove the extra 30 miles to pick it up.Reviewed 17 Nov 2022

They told me it was an all wheel drive vehicle. I rented that because we were going to the mountains and there would be snow. When I got stuck in the snow, I realized it was actually a two wheel drive vehicle. I tried to call the Greensboro office but got sent to a national phone tree and couldn’t reach a live person. Made a reservation through kayak for a rental car, went to hertz to pick it up and staff was terribly rude and told me they have no cars and to call kayak to get a refund. Employee barely looked at me as he was too busy playing on his phone.Reviewed 10 Jan 2022

Staff at Fayetteville were terrible. Greensboro staff was knowledgeable, but first car was not cleaned and ended up with electrical issues and we had to return to Greensboro. Lost over 4 hours on road to backtrack. Next car was also not sealed after sanitizing and was 1,400 miles and 5 months overdue for oil change. THIRD car was fine. Unfortunately no cars were available for pickup even though we booked a car. The girl at the desk said they tried to get ahold of us, but we didn’t receive an email. They asked us to come back when they could possibly have a car for us but again, we didn’t receive a phone call, email or cancellation of the reservation. it was deja vu all over again. The last time I rented from Hertz I upgraded from a midsize altima to a full size car. Hertz gave me an Altima and said it was a full size. This time I rented a full size suv ie armada,Pathfinder;Explorer. They provided me with a ..Kia Sorrenta which is classified as a mid size suv. Once again Hertz said it was afull size suv I will never rent from Hertz again because they have their own classification system that allows them to downsize you from what you expected and paid for.Reviewed 28 Sep 2021
