I was required to take $12 day insurance on top of my credit card insurance because I was unable to provide proof I had personal umbrella insurance. I have never encountered this and believe it was super shady and I felt bullied by staff there. It was after hours and providing proof was impossible, they knew they could squeeze their customers and they did. I was super annoyed, along with other people in line at pick up but my booking was prepaid so what was I supposed to do. They wouldn’t even let me provide proof the next morning. Will never rent with them again, their fees are hidden and shady AF.Reviewed 24 Jul 2024

They have hidden fees (they charge $11.95 a day mandatory insurance and rely on fine print in their contract, when the contract clearly says the price includes all mandatory fees). Then on return they appear to be trying to charge me for damage that was already there.(I actually talked with staff before I left about that exact paint chip they are now appearing to blame on me)Reviewed 22 Jul 2024

Terrible the site said unlimited mileage on the rental and when we got there they said it was very limited and when I showed them the site they told me doesnt matter what it says online they won’t honour the booking so I had to pay an Uber for 2 rides for nothing lost $70 dollars threw kayak don’t use this site it’s a scamReviewed 17 Jul 2024

I booked my car on your website I had selected insurance in case of damage at the first $500 When I arrived to pick up the car, the queue was huge We waited more than 1 hour to recover the car I was then told that the insurance had been removed during the payment Suprise, it is then that the man at the counter mantionne me that I must take the insurance on the spot The rental should have cost me $ 360 and I left Économrent with a bill of $ 560 almost double mentioned on your site! I had to pay a $1,000 deposit that was mentioned nowhere before I was at the counter I had to increase my credit limit to be able to leave with the voirture I do not recommend anyone to do business with this site Very disappointing!Reviewed 11 Jul 2024

Worst experience I have ever had with a rental company. Additional insurance cost at pickup that matches the cost of the rental. Unsafe vehicles bad windshield wipers tires brakes transmissions, prolific damage scatches etc. Extremely poor cleanliness inside the vehicle. They also quickly spray down each vehicle before use as if to have provided a clean vehicle. So many red flags so extreme beware!Reviewed 11 Jul 2024

First of all, they were taking a lot of time and I was the one who booked a 8 seated mini van and they didn’t mentioned that, the one who has licensed need to booked a renting car but the case was solved at that moment and at last they provided us a 7 seated another model van and again they took extra time to find out 8 seated van where it took a couple of hours to solve the problems.Reviewed 6 Jul 2024

This is the most unorganized vehicle rental I’ve ever dealt with and I rent vehicles a few times a year. The staff tried their best to stay calm under what seemed to be mounting pressure but it’s clear they are as frustrated and irritated as all the other guests trying to pick up/drop off rental and personal vehicles. Some customers, while we waited an hour to get our vehicle, had complete melt downs due to their wait times and the unorganized chaos. You should expect by the time you get from your arrival to the shuttle (don’t forget to call ahead for pick up with early/late arrivals) and then off-airport to the rental/parking place, to add at least 40 minutes to your experience. The vehicle we were given was not as clean as you would expect either but it was brand new with only 5000 km and came with a nice touch screen infotainment and premium audio system which we enjoyed. There is a tiny parking lot and no street parking out front due to vehicles lined up with no directions as where to put the vehicles you are dropping off, we had already got our luggage and stuff out and were waiting in line (to drop off the vehicle), when one of the staff made us move the vehicle instead of doing it themselves. Overall you should expect, as the price reflects, good service isn’t cheap and cheap service isn’t good. If you’re ready to expect all this to save, what one other guest we talked to explained was “over a $1000 for a 10 day rental” then you should be fine but be fair warned, it’s not for those faint of patience.Reviewed 25 Jun 2024
