Pros: Unbelievable location next to the night bazaar and right off loi kroh road. Amazing shopping and restaurants steps outside, not too mention all the inexpensive massage your body can handle! Hotel staff is super friendly and got greeted with a smile and bow everytime we arrived or left the building. Great value for the price and we would definitely stay again.

Pros: We went here for two nights as part of our honeymoon and boy did they spoil us!! They gave us welcome chocolates fruit wine and then made up our bed with kissing elephants and our bath with flowers. It was beautiful!! Everyone was amazing .

The staff brings sunscreen, insect repellent, icy water, a few slices of melon and towels as soon as you get to the pool. The location is also decent and the hotel staff at the 2nd floor main entrance did an excellent job of getting us transportation and directing the drivers to the right places.

Cons: Upon check-in we were pushed to upgrade so we could have breakfast included. I've traveled all over Asia and haven't had to pay extra nonetheless made me feel like I was a peasant. The service was average. Tried to fill up the tub for my other half and there were pubic hairs floating around. The room was also cleaned better based on how much tip I left. I had great experiences at other Shangri-La hotels but this wasn't one of them.

The location is also decent and the hotel staff at the 2nd floor main entrance did an excellent job of getting us transportation and directing the drivers to the right places.
Cons: The condo next door is being constructed, so we had to bear a constant construction noise at the pool side, but it is not the hotel's fault. The room is not as clean as I would like. The carpet is a bit old and is stained. The room air condition fan noise is loud even at the lowest fan speed setting. The most of the hotel staff did an excellent job of providing good service, but noticed the land of thousand smiles is no where to be found with a few staff.

Cons: The shower was a bit funky. It was a huge step up to get into the shower. For some reason the shower is separated by the rest of the room by glass walls, making it viewable from any point in the room. Even more oddly, the privacy for the shower is a set of horizontal blinds located on the outside of the shower. Meaning, someone in the room can walk up and open the blinds and see you using the shower or bathroom. Not that this would happen, but I find that to be very odd, and I've never seen that in my entire life.

Cons: We had rm 216 which was dark because it faced a blank wall and construction site . We couldn't sleep past about 7AM because of crying kids, scraping chairs and walking sounds. We assume the restaurant was below us. We stayed a week and room cleaning was minimal. The carpet was dirty when we arrived and wasn't vacuumed during our stay. The shower also needs attention as it is difficult to actuate. In general we feel we paid for a premium room but didn't receive it.

Cons: They overbooked and when arrived at 1030pm tired from our flight they sent us in a car to another hotel. It would have been forgivable had it been another 4 star or better but it wasn't. It was a dirty 3 star at best. After traveling for weeks I had been looking forward to two nights in one spot. It was a hassle to have to repack and get the car back to the Amora in the morning. They offered no refund, they claimed to have upgraded us for our second and final night but the only difference was a higher level floor. Hardly an upgrade. The management staff had no service skills. They were very unreceptive to complaints.

Cons: The room they put us in dis not look the room on the website. The bathroom had mildew in it. The staff was not very friendly. Most of the places I stayed in offer free breakfast and this place did not.
