Preston Marriott Hotel7.7/10 ratingout of 9 reviews · $118 avg price/ night
PROS: Great breakfast, helpful staff and a very convenient locationCONS: The hotel needs refurbishment, the rooms feel 'tired', the decor is very dated and the food prices are too high - especially the bar snacks which are crazy (and not very good either)

Holiday Inn Preston8.6/10 ratingout of 8 reviews · $75 avg price/ night
PROS: The bed was mostly comfortable, but the mattress didn’t feel great for the price. Large curtains with bug nets also.CONS: Shower was broken, the water didn’t get up to temperature for 10 minutes (hottest setting), shower head gasket was leaking badly and gushed water onto the walls and floor. Toilet was slow to flush and when returning to use it again, the water colour wasn’t transparent as it should be; it had a tan/yellow tinge. Parking was atrocious, tried to look around the car park for a space to see that there were cars parked in the way and vans taking up multiple spaces
