Pros: I liked the car
Cons: I didn't understand the car and why it was beeping or why it kept showing me different numbers on the screen. I didn't know how to work it. Also, Kayak gave me one price and then the airport charges me almost another $125. I was really pissed off about that. Don't show a price online and then I have to pay over $100 more when I get to the airport. I will never use Kayak again, I cannot trust it.

Horrible experience
Pros: I liked absolutely nothing! Horrible experience, never again!!
Cons: The entire experience was a mislead goose chase with no good ending. Worst experience I've ever had with a company, the man that ran the pickup location, and the customer service people. Over all it was a disappointing tear filled experience.

Disorganized
Pros: I had a poor experience--no positive to share.
Cons: Louisville was very disorganized. I had difficulty knowing where to take the car to be checked in--very poor signage. I ended up pulling up to an Enterprise sign for checkin, I couldn't find one for Alamo. I was told I was at the right place. No directions were offered on how to even get into the airport!

Pros: quality of car and cleanliness
Cons: We wanted to pick up early and they said we could upgrade or would have to wait as they had no cars in our category. They made us wait until the exact minute of our reservation and there were tons of cars when we went out to the lot. They clearly just wanted us to take the upgrade. This is the only car rental that I have not been able to pick up early, ever.

Please provide better customer service training for employees

Cons: At the empty register, the clerk (Gwen) ignored me for 5 minutes. I reserved my car at a specific time, it took more than 30min to just do paperwork/answer questions and an additional 10min wait for the car. It was 6am at an empty airport. Gwen repeatedly asked me about the insurance, when I told her I am content without as my personal insurance covers everything, she got EXTREMELY angry and rude. She rolled her eyes, insulted me, and mumbled under her breath for the remainder of the time. These comments and scolding continued as I signed the final paperwork and walked away. I also have a visible health condition preventing me from walking long distances. She requested a specific car for me and on the phone was told it was quite a distance, she said she wanted that specific car given to me despite it being parked further away. I had to walk across a large parking lot in pouring rain because of this. When I asked about additional charges she once again got upset and rude then did not tell me charges that occurred at the end of my transaction. Please provide better training for Gwen and your other SDF Louisville Thrifty staff. Her poor attitude has turned me off this company completely. I will be contacting corporate regarding this matter and sharing my experience with my friends and family who use Thirfty.

Pros: Staff was okay vehicle wasn’t ready at designated time and still had to be cleaned and wasn’t properly done so. Was also charged for gas and shouldn’t have been they said I was given car with full tank that was false and I have a tuned and dated picture of the gauges so I returned vehicle with same amount as given actually a little more and now fighting to get my money back and upon more investigating this same thing has happen to many people this rental company is not the one I prefer to use I just had no choice on this particular date I will never return

Watch out for unscrupulous counter person. SDF
Cons: Counter person at SDF Louisville told me you " must " take our min insurance adding an additional $130 to the tab. After already signing, I realized that I do NOT have to take thrifts minimum insurance policy. When I re approached him he became upset with me" you told me to put it on" . I had registered for an intermediate an he gave me a Chevy that was not a intermediate. I had to drive 4 crammed people( one of which was my boss) from Louisville to Nashville. I had ask for something large enough to to fit 4 comfortably.

Customer service needs work
Pros: Car was nice, clean, etc. Dropping the car off was super simple, quick, and easy. Price was cheapest of all the competitors.
Cons: The woman working behind the counter when I arrived to pick the vehicle up was rude, assuming, and very unnecessarily curt with me. There was zero people in line behind me, I am young and polite and easy to work with, and I had made my reservation already online days before. But she was so rude and short with me, that it gave me pause, and I considered cancelling right there on the spot. She's fortunate that I am not her boss, as she would have to find employment elsewhere. If you work in customer service, be polite! Don't be a brat, don't make assumptions about people, chill out and do your job. end rant.

Pros: They offered me a different vehicle.
Cons: The first vehicle reeked of smoke. The GPS was out of date and sent me to the wrong location twice, was slow and did not now the current roads. The cars are the farthest from the terminal. I had to go back to the desk to check the vehicle back in - the outside check in wasn't working.

Pros: The price was great and the car was in excellent condition.
Cons: Though I had indicated I wanted to pick up and drop off at the Louisville airport, I was scheduled to pick up and drop off at an off-airport site. The folks at Hertz rectified this, but I had to pay a $15 fee. Considering the price, this was acceptable, but I'm not sure I didn't just luck out in encountering Hertz people who were willing to help.

Great service, pretty good car
Pros: Pickup and drop off were both smooth, with friendly, personable staff who were ready to help. The car (a Toyota Yaris) was clean and gave me no operational hassle. The fuel economy and pickup were good, and my fiance and I were both grateful that what it lacks in horizontal space, it makes up for vertically; we are both tall, but neither of us felt squished. Being able to use the Bluetooth with my phone was a very welcome and appreciated feature.
Cons: The steering wheel doesn't telescope forward, and as I sit with the seat fairly far back to accommodate for my legs, it resulted it me hunching forward to reach it properly. The Yaris also has some sizeable blind spots, and as my rental was an economy, the side mirrors have to be adjusted by hand, which were both fine once I adapted.

Pros: I received a fuel efficient, fairly new Nissan Sentra. The price was right and the car handled well.
Cons: There are no frills (no navigation, Bluetooth only transmits voice for calls, seats are small and stiff etc).

Never got car
Pros: I liked the deal that was advertised on Kayak, although it wasn’t honored upon arrival.
Cons: I booked the deal ($37 for two days) but when I got to the airport I was told the economy cars were not available. The lady said she’d cut me a “deal” and up charge $20 for a midsize. I didn’t want to pay nearly $60 for such a short period. After politely saying I’d like to see if I can find something cheaper, I went in the kiosk adjacent to her, which was Thrifty. She (rather rudely) told me that they are the same company and won’t be able to give me anything better. One of the Thrufty employees had to correct her and said that was exactly true. I said I didn’t realize that and left irritated and somewhat embarrassed that she said that openly in front of other people. So, I walked down to National. The guy there was very nice and hooked me up with a brand new Ford Fusion hybrid for $42. That was my first interaction with Dollar, and it wasn’t a pleasant one.

Pros: The car was a good value.
Cons: There was a very long wait at the Dollar counter at Louisville airport (one hour for 4-5 customers). I had reserved a "Special" online because it was described as capable of holding five people and two suitcases. The lady at the counter was friendly, but told me I would need to upgrade to get something big enough. I needed the space for luggage, so I paid extra (she did offer some kind of discount) and choose a Corolla.

Cons: When I arrived at the desk and showed them my reservation, they didn't want to honor it and told me they don't ahve the size car available for this rate. They forced me to take something larger and charged me $89 vs 43

Cons: I never actually got the car. I went to pick it up and they tried to add in over 400 dollars in fees. They wanted to charge me about 700 dollars for one weeks rental. I will not be using Kayak again or Dollar. Kayak gave me a 250 dollar quote. It was obviously way off.

Cons: Their weekend hours are really SHORT...and they are short of staff. They will gladly give you a ride home, but it only leaves one person at the desk..which results in lines.

Pros: The saleswoman was very professional and nice. She gave us a nice, clean, new car and worked us through the controls before we drove away. I’ve never had that experience before when renting a car at the airport. Overall, it was a great experience!
Cons: The saleswoman tried very hard to talk me into taking the insurance on the car because the street in front of the rental office was under construction and she acted like I was going to get into an accident pulling out of there. First of all, the car she gave me was similar to the car I drive at home and second of all, I’m not stupid. I took it anyway because she was too pushy about it and made me uncomfortable.

i was unable to rent from enterprise
Pros: Allianz insurance experience was easy and attentive, also, a good price.
Cons: Pushy service, hard sold insurance to an already insured car, car ended up being rented by my GF , paperwork was incomplete and incorrect, overall horrid.

Cons: The vehicle was not very comfortable, wasn't a very smooth ride, hard to get in and out of for my husband who is 6'0.

Horrible!
Pros: Car was nice. Hands free feature was great.
Cons: Barley fit three kids which is why I requested a full size car. A Camry is not full size. No floor mats. Fleas on driver side. Car was filthy inside and out. I asked why it wasn't cleaned and was told it just needs detailed. There was food in the seats and on the floor. Tint residue still on windows and not removed completely. Hard to see out passenger window due to that. Horrible experience. Next time I'll just take my own car borrow from a family member.

Great car - the second one that is - first was dir
Pros: helpful desk staff and cars right there at the terminal
Cons: first car was dirty and the one person in the parking lot was on a phone in a running car near us talking loud with a foul mouth. It would be better for Avis if he was cleaning the dirty car they first gave us

Cons: I waited four hours for a replacement in Newark. I ended up having to pay for a hotel because I got drowsy after waiting for four hours. I called Louisville to advise I was delayed and they still charged me for an extra day. Credit has not come through.

Pros: The car was clean and a nice vehicle.
Cons: The car was not ready for us at the designated time. Then the attendant said they did not have one at all. After several hours she found one at another site. All this caused stress and delayed our vacation by more than 5 hours. Then the price was even higher than originally quoted not a single discount for my inconvenience or their confusion.

Pros: the car was fine. not great sight lines but fine for a quick rental.
Cons: pick up was extremely slow. the place was understaffed and having computer issues. the guy was having a bad day but it seemed like that was a regular occurrence. drop off was better. Watching the other companies in the rental area I will pay a little more to go with another brand in the future. they were clearly better staffed and more helpful.

Two hour window
Cons: I showed up after my designated pick up time only to realize that I had a two hour pick up window. Because I didn't show up within two hours of my appointment, I was stranded at the airport. I had to go with another agency which was a 50% increase in price. Not a good experience.

They didn't save a car for my reservation!
Cons: I arrived from my flight (on-time) to find a gentleman sitting behind the counter with headphones on, staring at his computer screen. After putting my ID & credit card on the counter, it still took him around 30 seconds to acknowledge my existence. Removing his headphones, he took my ID, typed my information into his computer, and then (without saying anything to me) walked over to his counterpart at the next agency. After a brief discussion, he returned and said "I see you have a reservation, but we have no cars." What is the possible purpose of taking a reservation if you won't actually hold a car for it? I even asked about returning to the airport the next morning to pickup a car, but he said I would just have to make a new reservation...obviously I didn't have faith in their system at that point.

Extending is difficult
Pros: Clean car. Nice
Cons: 1) Back up camera mount was broken. I don't use them anyway. 2) Extending the rental was so hard I had to go to the Airport and do it in person. It shouldn't be so hard to give you more business!

Pros: The car, a Kia Optima, was very nice. Great gas mileage. Reservation agent was very helpful.
Cons: At pickup the car smelled like cigarette smoke. At return the counter agents were unable to do split payments. It's very difficult to understand how a business would not expect more than one party to share a rental and the cost.
