The van was ok, it was kind of loud. The weather stripping around the doors didn’t seal. So it sounded like a window was down all the time. The most aggravating thing was the key fob wouldn’t lock or unlock the doors. We made a lot of stops on our trip, so it was inconvenient to have to unlock with the key. It was clean the smell was a little rough at first, but we put lavender sachets around in it and it was ok. The air conditioning was really strong, so that was great.

Understanding that the this is a contract with a owner/operator brand! The 12 pass van we rented had roaches (even had a roach motel in the van). Did not have window washer fluid in vehicle. Had a warped brake pad on front passenger wheel. SEVERAL broken items. HORRIBLE!

I had a reservation and I was told multiple times that they have an after hours person to take care of late flights or delayed flights for an hour an a half after they closed which I was also told multiple times that they closed at 10pm. They had taken my flight information and said they would be tracking it.They gave me the direct number to that location and I started calling at 7:30pm to contact them directly, I made over 65 calls, it always went to voice mail which said it was full and if I stayed on the line it would hang up. My flight was delayed and I ran to the rent car desk and arrived at 11:15pm still with in the 1-1/2 hour window, and was told by another rent car company that they had left between 9-9:30pm. that they never stay late. All other companies were out of cars so I had to Uber to my 1hour destination at $95.00. I called the toll free number they said I could pick it up in the morning. So I would have to spend the night at the airport. WHAT SERVICE IS THIS!!!!!!

The agent told us our licenses (both my partner's and mine) could not be verified, and therefore, they could not rent a car to us. We both have un-expired Massachusetts licenses, with no misdemeanors or felonies, and have not had any issues renting cars recently. When we tried to ask for more information, or provide details like our recent address change, they said there was nothing they could do. I believe this was an issue with Payless's systems, as again, we both have up to date, valid licenses. I will not be renting with Payless again given a choice.

The car is new, fast, clean and economy The only thing there is narrow view and there are zones where you can't notice cars next to you

A throng of people waiting and only two workers for three agencies: Payless, Avis and Budget. Out of those workers, only one was competent. Ridiculous. The problem is that agencies don't want to pay a living wage and folks can just decide not to come to work.

I was a bit hesitant to rent form Payless, as I'd never herad of them. But they are part of the Avis and Budget organization and were a fantastic value!!
