Make sure the vehicle is full of gas upon pick up. The gas tank indicator on the instrument panels on many vehicles are not very accurate, and can be off by a considerable amount of litres of gas. Service representative was the least helpful person I've ever had at any rental car company. Pickup document showed full gas tank but was actually one quarter full. Luckily I took a photo before I drove off with the odometer and fuel tank level. When dropping off, told the same rep about the tank and he asked me to take a photo of the odometer and fuel gauge. The representative also had a proper conversation with a prior customer who is likely from the same geographic region as himself but did not provide that same level of service to me. I don't need to be pampered, I'm just saying bare minimum service levels need to be had with everyone. Gave avis a try but won't be renting with avis again after this experience.

Extremely long wait time to get the car. After completing paperwork only I was informed the car is not ready, and it will take about 20 min. After waiting 40 min, I was offered a different car, but the payment was increasing, due to different insurance (LDW) rate. I did not accept the increase, so I was to wait some more. Finally, after 1 hour I received the car. I arrived at the rental location exactly when I booked the car, Hertz could have been ready at that time too. By the was, I was not the only one. Almost everyone had to wait for their cars.

The car we were provided was amazing! (They upgraded us to an SUV) It was so easy to pick up and drop off. The customer service was so good. Quick and painless. The only thing that could be improved was the cleanliness of the vehicle. It had some crumbs on the seats and a spilled ice cream mark on the back seat. This has never happened before so I am assuming that they just had a ton of rentals back to back during the busy stampede week. Nothing that a quick vacuum before we left couldn't fix. 😁

The car was excellent and in excellent condition, but there were a lot of hidden fees that the company kept silent about. When choosing a car, the price on the website was $68 for two days, with hidden fees they charged $412 for two days. This is not pleasant, the company must inform customers about hidden fees. I will never go to Budget again because I feel cheated.

My arriving flight was delayed by a few minutes. Then, for no obvious reason, we waited 30 minutes to get our checked luggage. I was 15 minutes past the ‘pickup time’ that I had entered on kayak, and the desk was closed. After a frustrating call to the Budget Call Center, I was told the airport location closed at the exact time I had booked the pickup for, and there was nothing they could do for me. A warning when I booked it and/or a call or text before they closed up for the night would’ve saved me a lot of middle-of-the-night frustration at the airport.

Agency had a long (several hour) wait for cars upon arrival. Item left in car (hat) and, even after notifying the agency within minutes, they could not locate the hat. We received follow-up the next day due to the agency not having a record of us returning the car. Overall, a disorganized operation.

Full size SUV is not a ford edge similar to high lander. Car was not clean when picked up and we had to identify multiple scratches and dents not included on the form so with no attendant outside we had to walk back inside to the rental counter to add them to the form before leaving (extra 20 min process)

I rented a car through kayak only to be told by the vendor on arrival that they were sold out and the online merchant who sold the deal to me neglected to give them any contact so that they could let me know. This was discovered after my ride left leaving me stranded on an unfamiliar road in an unfamiliar city in the cold at 5 PM when essentially everything was shutting down and derailing my plans completely. It looks like you over sold and now are pawning me off on the third party (carrentals.com) for resolution “in a few days.” The reservation was paid in advance for a rental that KAYAK was claiming to guarantee and failed to deliver. On your own website you write “we work hard as the world’s leading travel search engine to get our users the information they need so they can plan trips the way they want, confidently.” In big bold letters no less! What a crock, this was my first experience booking through you and I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know about my experience with KAYAK. Finally I request again you either secure a car so I may complete my delayed travel or refund what I paid. Thank you.

Pickup was very poor. The staff at the front desk were very nice and professional. The problems began when selecting and picking up the car. We were asked to check the condition of a black car in an closed garage with poor lighting. Next to impossible. Then you have to show the problems to an agent who has some sort of screen to look further. About a dozen people were all leaving at once and so it took the better part of an hour from being shown the car to actually leaving the airport. Once we got it out into the light it was obvious we had missed a scratch. Upon dropping off, the process was very fast. However I wasn't given a receipt, and the one promised to my email never came. So now I have to chase it down. The car itself was otherwise fine, and was problem free.

The National Car Rental staff at the YYC (Calgary) were super efficient and helpful. We got a brand new Chrysler Pacifica. The car itself was excellent. The gas tank was only three-quarters full, however. We noted that as we were exiting. The lady at the exit was kind enough to mark it as only half full. The drop off was also great, with super friendly staff upon arrival. We very much recommend National Car Rental at YYC.

The drop off/pick up is outside of the airport. If you need to drop off the car early and they are closed you have to drop off the car and take an Uber or taxi to the airport at your own cost. Just a heads up when booking.

I must have phoned the number at the airport, the 1-888 number and gone on the website to cancel the reservation 10 times. The phone numbers were useless, nobody ever picked up and the online took multiple tries to get a confirmation cancellation, I finally went to another company and would not ever try the company again.

They called me when I was on my way and had no cars. The address featured on the site was also incorrect. This was extremely frustrating and ruined my trip, Driving Force should not be on Kayak because all the information is wrong and they blamed me for it instead of taking accountability for their online information being wrong. On Kayak's website, it stated that the rental car came with unlimited mileage. However, when I arrived to pick up the car, I was informed that there was actually a limit and I would have to pay extra for every kilometer over that limit. The rental location was in disarray, with a dirty floor and overflowing garbage. Despite standing there for a while, no one approached me to assist with my reservation until I had to ask for help. I did not proceed with the reservation and let’s say this would be my last time booking or trusting kayak or that rental company.

Overall: if you have time and patience, it might be worth it. But, be aware that you are sacrificing efficiency for those savings. If your time is money, recommend finding another option. Professionalism: The staff were incredibly overworked but also did not move with a sense of urgency. Customer Experience: Lineup of customers looking to drop off keys and pick up their rental were combined. It took 45 minutes before getting service. Cleanliness: The location was incredibly messy. Value for Money: the price is ok, as long as you have your own insurance (they will upsell you). (The Routes franchise would likely be very concerned by the overall experience at this location, not great for the brand)

Car pick up was disastrous. Be prepared for all sorts of insurance problems. You must prove that you have $65,000 in insurance. They try to upsell you their insurance. Their price per day for out of province is astronomical all sorts of added costs. Took two hours to get the car. Car was the most banged up rental car I’ve ever had.

There was not an airport shuttle as advertised. Just a car that could not fit everyone at once. Also there was a mandatory insurance charge added at the pickup that was not disclosed by kayak. Then a mileage fee that was also not disclosed previously. I ended up paying $100 more to ace than what was advertised on kayak for only a 2 day rental. Id have never booked through kayak if I knew that would be the case and i wont be doing it again.
