We booked a rental car for Friday March 18th and Thursday March 17th in the evening we received a call that they did not have any cars available! Incredibly frustrating! We were stranded at our hotel, our expectation was that if we reserved a car there would be a car for us.

Could not pick up vehicle with my debit card. I had to cancel the reservation the day of and rent from Avis instead.

The location we went to had terrible customer service. Their website said they close at 4pm. We booked for a car pick up around 12 pm and I got to the location around 12:15pm. Come to find out they stuck a printed piece of paper on their door saying they close at 12pm. We did not receive a curtesy call saying they are closing early. No email from them either. When I got to the location, there were still employees inside that can clearly see me and another couple there who had a 12 pm pick up as well. No associate came to talk to us. No associate even acknowledged us. Later on we see them run out the back door really fast and lock up. I went up to someone to ask what was going on and all one of them said was “we are closed already.” Customer service was just absolutely terrible. Had there been better communication or at least a heads up that they planned on closing early, no one would have been upset but the way they handled everything was terrible and upsetting.

Anaheim branch doesn't offer after hours return which is very inconvenient. Hertz is also not able to change drop-off location for prepaid contracts. Only after calling them numerous times they offered me to change the location for an additional fee of $320.

My CRV didn’t have a USB port? I didn’t know cars were made without them now? Real hassle to travel and not have one available.

We reserved a car thru Expedia and when we arrived the guy there would not release the car to us even though it was on the lot. He said it was reserved for another person the following day...as if they could not get another vehicle for the following day... He just did not want to rent it to us for the cheaper Expedia price....very poor service!!!!

The car got a flat in a bust parking lot in Santa Monica and trying to get the situation solved took over 4 hours and talking to like 7 different people (some very nice, some not nice at all). After all was said and done it was very late at night and ruined the plans I had for the one day I rented the vehicle.

This is probably the best car rental experience I ever had. I drove a new Ford F250 Transit with all wheel drive, This cargo van drove like a dream as I travelled I-15 to I-40 to Albuquerque. For all that know this drive, it is extremely windy. My last trip (with another company) gave me an old Dodge. I was so uncomfortable driving the windy highways, the drive took forever because I couldn't go over 50mph. Plus the people that work at Hertz on Katella in Anaheim near Disneyland were upmost respectful, friendly and helpful. Iman made sure that everyone (including myself) who were renting cars were professionally and personally taken care of. A 6 day cargo van rental for $224 - unheard of deal. If you need to rent a car, you must rent from this place. Thank you Hertz and Iman.

I didn't like anything about renting from Hertz. They didn't have a car when they said they would. Their local agents did what they could, however their reservation service is a joke. I wasted an entire day of my vacation trying to get the car I had ordered and then had to take a smaller vehicle or not have a car. Hertz gave no compensation. What an absolute joke.Hertz should change their name to Hurts! What a joke of a company to rent from! I have no idea how they have the reputation they have as a quality rental company!
