Pros: By far my favorite hotel experience ever. It was very luxurious, beautifully appointed, and the service was superb! We were welcomed by a very pleasant and courteous bellman, and every ancounter with staff thereafter was remarkable for its pleasant, service oriented tone. They are in a very deluxe hotel and they treated us, ordinary guests, as if they were delighted to have us! And the breakfast buffet was out of this world!! A terrific experience from start to finish.

Cons: Asked the concierge desk twice over two days to book a lunch reservation. They only notified my room that it was confirmed about two hours before the requested reservation time. By then I'd already made other plans and left the room.

Pros: From the moment I arrived I was greeted warmly and treated like a valued guest. The service in all areas of the hotel was the best I have experienced at any hotel. The rooms are beautifully updated with very well appointed bathrooms. Entertained clients on three occasions at the Curtain Club. Could not have asked for better service. Nicholas in the Curtain Club should be commended for a job well done. This will certainly be my go to hotel in Berlin for future stays.

Checking in on Sunday morning after a flight from the US, tends to be iffy, however, the Ritz had a room waiting for me, and were expecting me. The hotel interior is beautiful. Rooms are well appointed, large, especially for European standards, and very quiet. The bar and restaurant was excellent. Only quibble I had was with the gym: small, smelled, and illequiped.

The room was spacious and clean, included capsule coffee machine which was absolutely perfect! They didn’t send anything so I had to call myself, then that hadn’t done anything. I was asking about contact information to do a police report for my insurance but they weren’t willing to help. Bad service about the crisis and also unsafe that someone was in my room going through my stuffs...

Cons: We reserved a room for three. The hotel added an extra bed to the room which was terrible (squeaking and extremely not comfortable). We asked them to change the bed, but things did not improve. The room is very small and the walls of the bathroom are somewhat transparent. This does not fit 3 people. We cannot recommend this hotel. At least not for more than 2 people.

Cons: The personnel was incredibly unfriendly during the check out - they forced me to pay in cash and I did not even get a receipt. I had to walk back to the hotel, realising I did not get a proof of payment, and got late for my appointment

Cons: Pillows were extremely thin and soft. I could not get enough neck support and woke up sore. Climate control is done through the TV but it never worked for me so I was at the mercy of the hotel temp.

Cons: I have left my earpods on the bed stand when I left the hotel, i realized it on my way to airport and i decided to go back because I had the time, unfortunately, housekeeping "haven't found them". The receptionist lady was trying to help, she talked to her superiors, they apologized many times and helped me to file a report. They asked for my IBAN nr and the invoice of the earpods and said they will be in touch... I received emails from the executive secretary as "Dear Mr Kirman, First of all thank you for choosing the Maritim Hotel Berlin as your place to stay in Berlin. We are sorry to hear that you have forgotten/lost your Air Pods while traveling. Thank you for notifying us about your loss and certainly, it is in our best interest to support our guests in their quest to be reunited with the lost or forgotten property. Our Housekeeping team has searched the room for you and as you know unfortunately your Air Pods were not found despite intensive search and research with the people involved. We understand your dissatisfaction with the situation, as it is always a personal let down to have lost or forgotten something, but please understand that we cannot insinuate theft to our staff members and we are not liable for things that our guests forget. We only do take responsibility when those items are placed in our care. We deeply regret, that we are not able to help you in this matter, and we sincerely ask for your understanding. " As seen instead of trying to resolve the problem they decided to team up with the thief housekeeping and cover for them. ITEMS MIGHT BE FORGOTTEN IN HOTEL ROOMS, HOUSEKEEPING IS RESPONSIBLE FOR RETURNING THEM NOT KEEP THESE ITEMS FOR THEMSELVES.

Cons: Overcharged in the bar for drinks and the manager blamed it on our miscommunication with the money. Told on check in we had breakfast included by the receptionist but made pay €144 for breakfast on check out. When complained to manager told that the receptionist expressed himself unclearly and it was miscommunication but no refund or compensation offered. Was in crutches with a broken leg at the time yet no staff member offered assistance to bring bags to the room, to have a table that was suitable for breakfast or even a room that was catered for a disabled person I.e. an accessible shower. Overall very poor performance by staff, extremely disrespectful of customers with very rude treatment. If looking for location and don’t care about staff morale then the hotel will suit if looking to be treated correctly do NOT go to this establishment.

Pros: Excellent breakfast...friendly helpful staff on front desk and in restaurant .......housekeeping came in each day....there is a notice in the bathroom for complimentary shower caps/ toothbrushes ect if you forget to bring them, nice touch I thought….kettle, tea and coffee in room..... perfect location, everything we wanted to see was within walking distance from the hotel.... plenty of restaurants and bars near by...we got a taxi from the airport, approx. 25euro with a tip but caught the bus, just up from the hotel to the bus station, then a shuttle bus back to the airport..easy and only 10 euro total for the two of us...will definitely stay here again.

Cons: The bed is uncomfortable and although the lady at the reception changed the room, it was even worse (broken arm chair) so we stayed with the first one. Note it was a comfort room. Received the requested extra blanket the last day only. 50% chance that you get a friendly staff member and no, a metal spring in your back is not a matter of "personal perception". My husband couldn't sleep a person that sleeps at airports without problems. Breakfast is ok but 4* shouldn't serve juice from an automata. Lots of products from the package, cheese variations lousy.Hardly any vegan options, no hay or soy milk. Offered filter coffee only at the last day. Breakfast until 10:30, 10:35 we were asked to get out so no chance to finish your coffee or tea without a hurry. I'm travelling a lot due to my job and I saw much better hotels in Germany (e.g. Hyperion, Dormero). Little detail but important for some people: no free water, it costs 4.50€, no kettle, no minibar. Although the street is a small street it was loud. We were second floor and heard everything. Last note: big people and persons with knee problems will have problems with the too low toilet.

Pros: The facilities were new and comfortable.
Cons: The staff cleaned the rooms at around 6pm so when we arrived back at the hotel every day, the room had not been cleaned. At one point we had to leave and go to the lobby and wait.

Cons: Very dated and building work on going on some floors booked a superior suite but none were available for a family. Bedding was the only thing clean walls filthy and chipped wood on all fixtures and fittings. Saving grace was location very easy to get to with s barn across the road and potzdammer plats within walking distance

Pros: The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The front of house manager, Steffi, was very understanding to our issues and acted upon them very favourable to us.
Cons: The pillows were lumpy, hard and extremely uncomfortable. The telephone was not connected, neither was there a port to plug it in. There was an emergency and I could not call reception. The new renovation was very shoddy and unfinished. There was a bolt and screw sitting in the bathroom. The air con did not work, we had to have both windows open for our entire stay because the room was so hot. It was 1 deg during the night. But the most unacceptable thing was the spotlight in the bathroom fell out and a piece of metal hit my wife!!!

Pros: This is my favourite budget hotel in Berlin that I stayed in so far. The room is quite spacious compared to other budget hotels in town, and it´t about the size of the Holiday Inn not far from this hotel that I stayed in my last visit. Overall the room was very clean had an a/c, which was nice during the hot sommer days. The tv was quite tiny, but I don´t expect them to put in a 50" tv in every room.
The hotel is located in a not so busy side road, but only a 10 minute walk away from "Die Topologie des Terrors Museum/Berlin Wall", about 10 minutes from Checkpoint Charlie, and 15 minutes from the Mall of Berlin. And around the hotel are some little gems like the ruins of a train station that got bombed during the war.
All in all it´s a really nice hotel in the heart of Berlin for a great price.

Cons: The only thing I would complain about was that they charged me at the hotel even though the room was booked online. But I don´t know if the travel website my wife used doesn´t charge the credit card.

Cons: Decor is stripped down and minimal, lacks charm, more like a college dorm. No closets or storage space, just five hangers on a short rack. The desk "chair" is a strange little plastic stool. Room is not conducive to working or spending much time.

Cons: only one lift and one staircase on opposite side from my room. it was very hot in my room until my last day there when all my roommates checked out and I opened the windows all the way. not a quiet place if that's what you're looking for.
