Pros: Staff was ok
When I booked on line the online price
Was cheaper that’s why we booked it
When I went to get car staff said I had to purchase
3rd party insurance but my email stated that I already
Had the 3 rd party insurance after showing proof
I still had to purchase 3 rd party insurance
Bait and switch .I lost 1 day of rental and spent
1 hour showing staff my itinerary I ended up purchasing 3rd party insurance had no choice
Cons: After booking car company needs to ensure Mexico side is aware of the 3rd party insurance Coverage so that bait and switch does not occur Unsatisfied
Pros: The car and everything was fine. 10X on the fees is not fine.
Cons: The insurance policy that was pushed on us was not explained to be one of multiple insurances that would be needed. A booking for $32 ended up costing $450. Cool. Very cool.
Pros: Car was fine
Cons: Info prior to rental on the insurance. It was stated there may be or might be additional insurance requirements. There was no may be or might but a $26 required fee. Terrible option
Pros: The experience was a nightmare! The $600 for a week turned into $1100 since there a HUGE tax in Mexico and they add on whatever they feel like. It was incredibly cheaper to just take taxis for 10 days.
Cons: Car renting in Mexico is the absolute meaning of hidden fees.. don’t do it! Taxis even for 8 people for 10 days is cheaper
Cons: Worst customer service ever. Did didn’t have our reservation. The rep was useless and said she couldn’t help. Manager was slightly better but didn’t help either. We left without our car. Please pick just about any other car agency.
Cons: They lied and wouldn’t let me leave without getting insurance that Alamo later confirmed was not mandatory. This insurance was covered by my credit card but they would not give me the car unless I paid 200+ for it
Pros: They were fine, terse at best.
Cons: Pick up was really slow. Many employees, little help. At Drop off we were charged an arbitrary amount (no chart or list of prices) for a windshield crack that we didn't catch@ pick up. Also overheard other customers having big issues w/reserved rental cars even being available.
Pros: Staff very friendly
Cons: The pricing advertised on Kayak is not the true price—when you show up for the car they charge you an obligatory insurance policy that 10x’s the price. Including this charge, my rental would have been far more expensive than a similar rental in LA or Seattle, for example.
Cons: Up front pricing for insurance in Mexico. What it covers and why it’s recovered.
Pros: Nothing to like
Cons: This is basically a bait and switch operation. They quote a small price for car rental and then when you get there, let you know that the "mandatory" insurance is where they make their money. The insurance costs more than a normal car rental by itself for most place I rent cars. Deceptive business practices should not be rewarded. Do not recommend.
Cons: Transparency about costs
