Cons: There was quite a bit of noise from the road, although it didn’t effect our relaxation. we weren’t expecting the parking fee of €22 euro per day, it’s impossible to park in Taormina so we didn’t mind paying it but perhaps it could have been clearer when we booked that we would need to pay this

Pros: There is a saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impression", and if there is one place living up to the concept of excellent customer service it is this hotel. From the moment we arrived and to the departure, the team delivered a service way beyond our expectations. And, our expectations were high due to comments we read from previous guests. Nothing was a problem, every question had a solution, and recommendations were fulfilled (we ate at Vicolo Stretto. Go there!). And, on their own suggestion they saw us and upgraded us to brand new suite on their own proposal. Wow! Book the Rock Junior Suites. Thank you, to all of the team at Belvedere. We hope to come back soon!

Cons: I booked a junior suite for three adults and one little child. The suite came with a double bed, a tiny single bed and an extra cot. The single bed was more suitable for a kid than an adult. I was also expecting to have a bit more space overall.

Cons: There was nothing we did not like, except for things out of control for the hotel. When we stayed there it was heavy rain in Taormina. But, the ideal, central location of the hotel made it easy to walk around and get back to dry up. And, of course the hotel provided plenty of umbrellas for guests to borrow.

The hotel is located perfectly in the Taormina corso, and after hours of walking in the heat, it was a relief to be able to drop into hotel easily. The pool was beautiful , and the view is to die for. The famous Wunderbar cafe is right nest door. Make sure to ask the hotel for the directions before you get there as cannot park in front of the hotel. This info was vey helpful. We travelled in June 2019.

Cons: Thought it was extremely overrated for a 5 star property. We booked for our honeymoon and were welcomed as a newly wedded couple at reception but it ended there. The room was small, and everything was white, nothing that stood out about it and it lacked character. As a honeymoon couple it would have been nice to have a bottle of prosecco or something extra in our room, but we were treated no different to any tourist so we weren't made to feel special. The bathroom was nice with a big shower although the inside of the shower screen didn't look like it ever got cleaned. I spilt some foundation on the marble floor in the bedroom and it was there the whole 5 days and didn't get cleaned. The breakfast was very stingy with no cheese or meats. Although the breakfast staff were lovely and extremely helpful. I've stayed in much nicer rooms for a fraction of the rate we paid.

Cons: The air conditioning was noisy in both the garden suite room and the double deluxe could not turn it off, there were weddings being held on the terrace and our room was right above the tables, it was nearly 2.00 am when they finally left. when you were by the pool trying to relax the staff started clearing the area and moving things about making lots of noise and at one point they even moved our daughters sun-bed while she was just over talking to us, the man was really arrogant quite rude in fact and shrugged his shoulders, as paying guests I believe that we are due some consideration as well, this property is not cheap, also it states that breakfast is included, then to our surprise it is a continental breakfast, if you wanted any other egg instead of scrambled you had to pay extra, I ordered poached egg on toast I had to send it back as it wasn’t cooked and the toast was two tiny circles, I found a lot of the staff just give the bare minimum when it comes to customer service, I don’t think this hotel should operate as a 5 star more a 4 star, will not be coming back, not the worst hotel we have stayed at and not the best the San Domenico was amazing unfortunately due to refurbishment we picked the San Pietro The rooms were well attended by house keeping and clean front desk were very helpful

For over 200 euros a night you would expect to find little details in the room and bathroom like some conditioner, coffee and not only tea, a decent hairdryer and possibly a bin in the room. Also, the menu offered at the pool is very limited, mainly frozen lasagne and pizza heated up in the microwave.

The hotel itself was a gem,clean and cozy,located in the best place possible,near the beautiful mountains with breathtaking views away from the noise from the centre yet not far from it. The breakfast was delightful, everything you could want to eat was there,the restaurant was also very nice,we had amazing dinner the last night of our trip. Pros: What a great hotel. A touch of old world charm located a short walk from the Corso Umberto. Our room was great. Spotlessly clean with a nice balcony with views of the sea and Mt Etna in the distance. The free beach club & swimming pool is a short 15 min bus trip away. The shuttle runs 3 times a day. The facilities there are good also. The staff of the hotel are extremely pleasant and ever so helpful. Even the hotel owners 80-year-old Grandfather will help you on and off the bus to the beach club... Fantastic!! We would highly commend this hotel. Looking forward to our return!!

Cons: The room and bathroom was very small. The sink was literally blocking the entrance to the shower, not so comfortable getting in and out of the shower. No full length mirror in the room. The staff were ok but didn't show any particular customer service or friendlyness. I just think taking to time to smile at the client makes a difference.

Cons: Quality and selection of breakfast could be improved for the price. Juices were room temperature and should be cold. A separate urn with hot water for tea drinkers should be provided. Why? Because coffee drips into our cup when we have to get hot water out of the coffee making machine...not nice.

Pros: Really great location of the hotel, close to the bus station (few minutes walk), a 15 min slow walk into town, a short walk to the alternative entrance of the Greek theatre where there were no queues at all, and also a short walk to the cable car down to the beach area. The reception staff at the hotel are welcoming and the bar staff are very friendly, also great cocktails! The pool area was nice and we were able to get sunbeds when returning to the hotel in the afternoons. Breakfast was good and there was a lot of choice.

Cons: I would've preferred to stay closer in the main town so not have to walk all the way around and up the stairs to the hotel every time, but no big deal. We were there in July, and it was very hot. The hotel could definitely use some updating, and there was a giant stain on the carpet in the hallway going to our room, (that's how I knew I was on the correct floor) Price was very affordable though, and the breakfast buffet was very large.

I would not say this is a 4 star hotel. More like 3 star.

Bathrooms were clean but showers didn't have fixed shower heads and didn't have sufficient enclosure to keep water from spilling outside the bathtub. The bed mattress wasn't very comfortable, and the balcony room was really just a shared balcony with the other adjacent room facing the backyard rather than the central street. Only 2 wall plugs available for charging.

The pigeons would land on vacated tables looking for scraps and also sometimes on the buffet table amongst the food, which was occasionally left uncovered by careless guests.

Cons: Internet connection in our room was poor and kept dropping out for long periods. They ackowledged the problem and offered me use of computer in reception at night but of course not very convenient. I assume the problem will be resolved. Our room/balcony overlooked the Corso Umberto. Unfortunately the double glazing is not very effective and although muting the noise, does no more. Garbage collection between 2 and 3 am and music and revellers woke us every night. I hope that the soundproofing can be improved.I am not sure whether rooms on other side are quieter. I also trust that this is taken as constructive comment.

Cons: When we checked in at about 22.30 we were given a lonely room at the very top of the hotel (5th floor) served by a lift up to the 4th floor and then via a flight of steps. So far no problem - the room was spacious and had all the amenities advertised. When I removed the bedspread to prepare to go to bed, a cockroach came up my hand and I was very nervous. The room looked clean, had no smells etc but I was not comfortable sleeping with cockroaches so we went down to reception showing the poor guy a photo of our accompanying guest! He was surprised and immediately offered to change our room. We re-packed and came down the stairs and elevator to be ushered into a much smaller room with no TV or WiFi. I again called the reception and was told that the hotel is completely full and the only choice was two single rooms instead of one double. We watched a film on my iPad using my internet connection on my mobile phone which cost a lot of money. Before we left, the next morning I explained what had happened to the morning receptionist and all I got was a "Mi dispiace" which means "I am sorry" I expected something more tangible like waiving of the €15 parking charge or a voucher for something. I'm sorry but I will never go to this hotel again.

Bathroom was old, with a shower head that didn't work properly. Wifi in the roon only worked on the floor and in certain spots. Overpriced just because of location and view - I asked for a double bed and instead got a small room facing the pool with a single bed. Old hotel not really well taken care of. Staff was friendly though. It is a good thing that the hotel isnt good so it forces you to go out.

Pros: Nice modern building and nice interior design. Very nice sea view. Perfect location near city center. Also close to the "telegondola" which will take you down to the beach. A 3 Level public parking (22€ / 48h) is in close proximity, however it was quite often at full capacity. The staff at the reception was very welcoming & accomodsting and gave us very valuable tips what to visit and where to eat! Thank you very much!

Cons: We have stayed in many hotels around the world both in calm spots and in touristic areas, but this hotel gave us the worst experience we ever lived. The hotel is located close to Taormina centre (the only positive point we could think off), but is surrounded by a steep uphill/downhill street on both sides (like in a “chicane” bend on a Formule 1 circuit). Windows/curtains did not isolate anything and hence the noise in the room was terrible all night – we hardly managed to sleep a few hours (the mattress quality did not help either). Then the hotel and the rooms were very much outdated and dirty with no maintenance done for years and we felt completely mislead by the pictures we found on booking.com and the customer rating that seems to be artificially manipulated by customer scores without comments. We can add to the list that the temperature of the water in the bathroom did not go beyond ambient, the toilet hardly flushed, the shower was so small that it was almost impossible to enter, etc… We booked and pre-paid this hotel for 3 nights but given the awful situation decided to leave after 1 night. Hotel staff hardly spoke English hence it was impossible to properly discuss our disappointment and a refund that we will now claim back from booking.com. What was to become a beautiful end of a 10 days Sicilian round-trip in what sold itself as a 4 star Palace (what’s in a name) became a nightmare in a place looking more like a dodgy motel.

Cons: Only minor issue was my parents are elderly and the shower was in the bath and a littler hard for them to step in and out. But they were happy with everything else.

Cons: The phone in bedroom was not working..air conditioner not heating and when we complained a guy insisted it was working when we complained he explained that he only works at hotel once a week. We went down for breakfast at 0750hrs to find a very miserable breakfast awaiting..a mere cold two portions of scrambled eggs and bacon...toaster not working although the girl insisted the toaster was working and stood near it hoping for a miracle..we asked for the room to be cleaned and there was panic..the same lady that prepared breakfast cleaned our room. Second day when we went down for breakfast at precisely 0800hrs there were no staff to be seen it's like this hotel was run by ghosts...ten minutes later after we had been knocking on breakfast room door and had to contact with our phone the hotel reception a lady finally opened..again to be served with a very poor breakfast. The Romanian receptionist was the only helpful staff..one of the guys couldn't even explain if there were restaurants close to hotel so we walked for 2 minutes and we were spoilt for restaurant choice. We paid euro 364 for 4 nights but we only stayed for two nights since the situation at hotel was unbearable. Highly not recommended.

Cons: The nice sea view comes with a price, asstreet under the balcony is very busy and can be a bit noisy. The toilet flush is not ideal. The balcony door is very heavy and difficult to close/open (has a very smal handle/switch for such a heavy glass door). Breakfast facility could be improved. The property restaurant was being renovated and the terrace was closed. I guess once it will open it will be worth a try (nice view).
