Pros: The hotel was just perfect. It enjoys magnificent views. The rooms are well equipped and clean. Breakfast is served at the Hotel's terrace: be it english or continental breakfast is entirely your choice. It is a perfect way to start your day: enjoying a delicious meal while enjoying the panorama! The hotel staff were nice, polite and ready to help. My partner and I were delighted with this hotel and all it has to offer! Taormina is a special place for us and we will definitely visit again.

Pros: Fantastic location, close to the centre but far out enough to be peaceful. Everything was beautiful and modern. Beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely. Everything was laid on for us including fresh croissants and rolls and juice outside our door every morning as it was low season. Fantastic hotel/apartment and area to visit. I highly recommend. The staff were ever so friendly and helpful, from booking reservations to recommending places to visit, they bent over backwards for us! Fantastic. We went in the ‘low’ season and loved it. Ok we couldn’t go round the hotel but we had a super luxury apartment with more than we needed and the staff at our beck and call. It was also 26 degrees the day we left at the end of November and Taormina wasn’t over run with other tourists. Loved it!

Great choice and superb presentation Handy having parking on site (payable) but reasonable All in all a fabulous location, beautiful boutique hotel with gorgeous gardens and terraces. The terrace bar is a great place to relax with a drink.

Pros: The hotel was perfect, close to the main street but quiet and peaceful. It is a beautiful old building that has been furnished with antiques and an attention to detail that maintains the character of the property. Excellent facilities, beautiful breakfast and garden terraces with wonderful views. The service from the staff was exceptional - friendly and helpful whilst never being overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel without reservation.

Cons: It’s a few steps up from the pedestrianised area, enough to induce shortness of breath in some people. If it were not for the patio, there would be nowhere convenient to sit at like a desk (this could have been just the layout of my room). Other than that, no complaints.

It was my birthday and I received a small but delicious cake and prosecco glass for myself and my two friends sharing the room with me. The staff is very professional and friendly. I would recommend this place for special occasions! Spa and Pool area are really nice too! Location is perfect just a few minutes walk away from the main centre.

Pros: Location perfect. Walk out front door of hotel and you are on the Corso Umberto--the main street filled with shops and restaurants. Sea view from room, pool and restaurants gorgeous. Patio off of room spacious. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed included breakfast overlooking the sea serving delicious fresh fruit, pastry, eggs to order, etc. We appreciated elevators to get to different levels of hotel.

Cons: The hotel needs some TLC--a little run down. Room was just okay. Lighting in bathroom horrible--couldn't see anything it was so dark. Missed a full length mirror in the room. Shower head allowed super hard "stream" of water to pound down on you. Could not get second key for our room. Expected more for what we paid for the room.

Pros: The location is the old town of Taormina was perfect, elegant and quiet. The room was large, clean and beautifully decorated and the breakfast lovely. The staff especially were incredible.....the bellman met us at the car park to take our luggage both on arrival and again on departure.The waiter at breakfast fabulous and atentive. There was simply nothing to great or overwhelming to ask of the Front Manager of the hotel whose name is Annalisa...every part of our needs met...BRAVO fabulous young lady! Thank you so very much !

Cons: Tiny room difficult to maneuver. This hotel should be downgraded to a 4 star now that the restaurant has closed, which happened between booking and our arrival, although our room rate didn’t change.

Cons: Restaurant and bar closed, apparently because of a transitional change of management at the property. Poor TV in room . Higher than average minibar prices. Breakdown in telecomms based payment services on our day of departure. Some unwelcome noise/music from local bar during the early hours. Air con erratic.

Cons: Hotel is old, almost technical museum, which can disturb a little ,despite charm carry with, bathroom at arrival was dirty, a spot of something brown near the toilet was on the floor, but it was difficult to see it because the color of the ceramics at floor. Shower was difficult to useit is small.Staff at reception is helpful and kind, also at the baech, but some of waitres at restaurant are terrible, especially younger personal ( a russian looking man with big stomach is awfull, some of Italian young ladies also) . Food is complete disaster, also for breakfast, even more for dinner. Restaurant is the best to avoid, you pay a lot, for nothing. Other things at hotel are more or less ok.

Cons: Only two things to mention, neither of which were unduly upsetting. Private valet parking is available, but unfortunately it takes fifteen minutes or so for the car to be retrieved from the hotel garage (there is a public multi-storey park almost adjacent to the hotel, which may be more convenient if you are going to want to use the car on several occasions during your stay and are not overly concerned about security). The only other thing is that WiFi was working in the hotel, but not in my room, so I had to go to the (very pleasant) bar area in order to connect.

Pros: Beautiful view, room was specious, clean and the bed very comfortable (king sized). Very peaceful and quiet with a sunrise to die for! Beautiful views from the room and private terrace. Excellent heating and the hotel is close to everything, only a few minutes walk. Very good value!

Pros: The location is very good, close to all important points with a beautyful view. The room is big, clean and the breakfast is served everiday until 11.00. The personnel was very nice and always helpfull.
Cons: Is not very easy accesible with the car. There are public parkings near by but you have to get on stairs with the luggage. If you have a small bag, all is ok.

Pros: The hotel was over a number of levels with amazing views to the sea and to Mount Etna (and a lift!). The swimming pool on the top terrace was in a lovely garden setting with great views also and the terrace on the first floor where you could have breakfast was lovely. The hotel was very clean and the staff very attentive, helpful and friendly. Very well run, professional and organised. The return shuttle for 6 euros from the hotel to their sister hotel by the beach with sunbeds and umbrellas was a really good option to have. It was a good location as at edge of old town, so easy to walk into town but felt like you had got away from it all when back at the hotel. Bus stop right outside to go upto the lovely village at the top of the hill behind hotel. We had standard rooms but they had a sea view or a view of Etna which was unexpected.

Our room was large and had a beautiful view of the sea and Mount Etna and opened onto a very large shared terrace. The food both at breakfast and dinner was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was also good.

Pros: It had an amazing deck off our room with a fantastic view. We were so very happy. The staff was so helpful. The breakfast was varied and excellent. The deck where you could enjoy your breakfast also has an amazing view like our room of the sea, Mount Etna, and the beauty all around us. Excellent location. This is where I will stay the next time I go to Taormina. I keep going back to Taormina because I love it so much.

Cons: There isn't much insulation between the rooms horizontally in the floors, so you can hear people in the room above, people walking round, moving furniture and in the bathroom, toilets flushing, water being run - it depends on the people in the room above, as when swapped rooms it wasn't as bad at all, so just unlucky with the people above in the first room, although the bathroom noise was the same.

Cons: Two things that we did not like are 1) the Bathroom really needs improvement to todays modern standards. The shower stall is probably 18"x18" with water flow issues and the bidet is one that no one uses these days. However it is clean. 2) the breakfast needs some improvements. There no hot food available except tea and coffee! The quality of food also needs to be reviewed.

Pros: We arrived at the hotel 2hrs before the check-in time. We don't mind waiting in the lobby and roam around to check out the hotel facilities coz it's so inviting to check outside. There are tables outside with the perfect view of the ocean and the pool on the side. It is so relaxing. But the receptionist immediately assists us to check-in earlier than expected. We experienced my first statement after we checked in. It is also my friend's birthday, Few days before our arrival, i emailed the hotel and ask if they can prepare something special and a note of 'Happy Birthday' with my friend's name. They said that they will do their best to meet my request. When we reached our room, a fruit basket, a wine and the note of what exactly i requested is waiting for us inside our room. what spectacular is, our room is upgraded with French terrace and Sea view. the hotel is just 10mins walk to Teatro Antico di Taormina. it's also near to the Centro and Porta Messina

Pros: The property has a beautiful panoramic view, the rooms were clean and comfortable, Breakfast was great and the staff is very polite.
Cons: There wasn’t much, if anything, that I didn’t like. However, I was a little disappointed on the last day of my stay, as I wasn’t informed that the hotel will be closing on the last day, and so I had nowhere to leave my luggage. My flight was at 10pm and late checkout was at 12 pm, so I ended up with the luggage outside, and to top it off, it started to rain (not the hotels fault of corse).

The hotel is a beautiful building and clearly had a lot of money spent updating the interiors. The views out to sea and of Mount Etna are spectacular. It also has a decent car park; must be unique in Taormina. There is a superb pool and also a very nice tennis court. Breakfast was very good.

Cons: Great potential but the structure had old, ruined furniture, much of those rusty and dirty with ants. Very narrow spaces in the room and the air conditioning was leaking water from the ceiling. The breakfast has nothing to do with the Sicilian gastronomic delights and it was really a pity

Cons: Do not go here: first of all, it looked like they just opened the hotel after a wintersleep. Service does not exist here, except for handing over your key. Breakfast is very basic. It is better to go out for breakfast. There was no service at all, we had to go buy our own wine, beer, water,... in the shop and bring it our self (no bar, not even water in the room). The fridge in the room was broken so we had to ask for ice a several times. The pool is nice but they just started cleaning it when we arrived (it was very green so we could not swim the first day). The elevator was also “temporarily out of service”. When we walked down (100 stairs) we noticed that the elevator was removed. This meant that if you had to grab something or go to the toilet (because the one at the pool was unbelievable dirty, probably wouldn’t pass health inspection) you had to walk all the stairs up again. I would not recommend staying here, not for that amount of money.

Cons: Everything outside the hotel needs maintenance which gives the place an uncared for feeling; the lift to the pool (on a terrace some 30m below the hotel) doesn't look like it's worked in a long time - the lift car is no longer there! The lift in the hotel was also out of order - not a problem to us but it's 3 storeys up or down from the lobby (on a cliff so 6 storeys in total), gardens (which were beautiful when we last stayed there 24 years ago) have not been tended in a long time; quite a jungle treck down to the tennis court

Cons: This is not a 4 star hotel - Facilities and hotel in general in need to refurbishment and rejuvenation. Staff we minimal and service was not what I expected - not value for money. We did get upgrade (booking.com on line spec was for junior suite - with details from a full suite). The room was therefore too small when we arrived - Daisy to secure an update to Full suite (after 3 days) but experience lets a bitter taste. I am not sure what the plans are for the hole - this old lady needs work and more attention to detail - could be a jewel at some point in years
