Pros: Hotel Ipanema is quite frankly a superb, relaxing classic traditionally run Italian Hotel. The staff are wonderful and the position of the hotel overlooking the bay is spectacular. The hotel is only about 2 minutes from the lovely little cable car which takes you to the incredible 'town in the sky' that is Taormina. The hotel has a lovely roof top swimming pool which is such fun. The hotel restaurant makes the best 'Risotto with Clams' in the whole of Italy. I would highly recommend this hotel and we shall definitely be going back.

Pros: Perfect location over the pebble/sand beach of Mazzaro bay, and few minutes walk to the funicular that goes up to Taormina. The view from our hotel room on the 5th floor was priceless! The staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: We were happy to have chosen an apt down below the upper city as even mid June, Taormina was packed with tourists and even walking along the streets was a challenge. Down below was much more tranquil and we found nice restaurants. The hotel was great. It met all our needs: twin beds, clean, lovely cleaning staff, balcony with a nice view... nothing to complain about. The breakfast was good as well

Pros: Good breakfast, pool on the roof, and we were lucky to get a parking space on-site. Location is great, a short walk to cable cars to Taormina (6 euros return ticket), and to the beaches of Mazzaro.

Cons: The breakfast was very basic, no warm foods at all (no fried eggs or similar). We had a car, and we never managed to find a spot in the small parking in front of the hotel, so we had to leave the car on the street.

Pros: The hotel Villa Bianca resort is well located however there are several different properties on different sites. The HVB Jolie requires a hike of 71 steps up and 21 down to get to the room. So if you are booking mKe sure you request the property which has the lift!

Pros: Fantastic location with amazing sea views from the large terrace of our room. Staff were very helpful as well.

Cons: Our double room was very small and very dated. Bathroom old and tired, thin walls meant we could hear talking from the hallway and bathroom noises from other rooms. The entire place needs a makeover!
