Pros: Location of hotel near restaurants and shoppings and underground train. The Handy phone provided free to use is great for navigation. Your friend can call to the hotel and dial the extension number and reach your phone

Cons: a little pricy but that is what a 5 star hotel offer

Pros: It was in the best location, situated at the Bugiss Junction, easily accessible to the MRT and shopping malls right at your finger tips. The staff was amazing.. I landed at 6 am, and I was given access to their gym facilities to freshen up as my room was not yet ready. The staff did their best to make me feel very welcome and was very accommodating, thinking ahead for my needs. Very highly recommended. I would definitely stay here again.

Pros: The overall experience was wonderful! The staff we met were all welcoming. The room was exceptionally comfortable and spacious. Breakfast variety was great.

Cons: The only thing we could pick on was the pillows. It was too soft.

Cons: Staff were all very helpful but we found it difficult to understand some of their English. Perhaps because we were not used to Singaporean English but it was also because of wording, ways of saying, e.g, lack of verb, in some context.

Pros: The hotel is very friendly!! The hotel and rooms are superbly appointed. The staff is very friendly and is always there to help. This is the best Intercontinental brand I have stayed at around the world. And I have stayed at some nice ones in other countries. Try the Cub Lounge. It is worth every penny of the extra cost. Very good way to unwind, eat, have a cocktail, without having to spend Singapore prices. The Club team is very helpful and will make your stay even more Pleasantville.

Pros: We stayed 7 nights and we enjoyed the hotel immensely. Mohammed from concierge was very friendly and helpful at all times. He even carried our luggage and put them in the taxi. The wonderful staff during breakfast were all exceptional . We would definitely stay at the intercontinental once we return to Singapore.

Pros: Our upgraded room was ok but I could have stayed at better rooms at Four Seasons for about the same room rate.

Cons: I stay at the IC at Bugis Junction on and off whenever I visit Singapore. And only reason I stayed there was benefits of being Ambassador member. I believe paying USD200 for the benefits are now not so attractive since many other hotels offer similar perks. I have been staying at the hotel since 1997 or so and now you can see signs of tear and worn. It is the time for some serious renovations in the lobby area.

Cons: This hotel is amazing!highly recommend ! Great rooms, great food ,great stuff, great location , I loved it! Best breakfast ! Beds are soooooo comfortable ! We stayed for 2 nights with 3 children enjoyed every minute !

Good beds and bath. Friendly, helpfull staff. We were in the Carlton Singapore before, and will be back.

Pros: comfy bed, spacious and clean room, good location, lots of places to grab a bite in the neighbourhood. lots of buses nearby. it was a very nice touch that we could shower in the changing room on the day of the departure.

Cons: the only thing missing from the room was a cupboard - there was literally no place to unpack, so we were living from our suitcases for a week I found it around the city, so not specific to the hotel, but was uncomfortable: the lobby was so cold it was like stepping into a freezer. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that everything had to be cooled to an arctic cold temperature.

Pros: I like the bed. I think it was better than Marriott’s in terms of comfort. I also like that it’s right by city hall MRT. The location is great.

Cons: From the beginning, I should have set low standards. I asked for a room in the high level. The reception happily announced that he found one - a room at level 15. I never heard level 15 classified as an upper floor. But I was tired after 1.5 days of traveling. The next day, HVAC maintenance came to clean the vent - unannounced. Just knocked and said - we have to clean the vent. No forward notice from the hotel. The room was not very clean. There was mildew in the sink and the towels weren’t arranged properly. The sink stopper was off, the bathtub stop was broken and the water kept gushing out when you shower. The bathroom light was worst. It was like being in a mine, with some spots lit and others dimmed. Definitely not a place to get ready for a date for. The next day, housekeeping did not come. They said there was a privacy notice. I never saw a privacy notice. When I got in at 6pm, they rushed to expedite the cleaning, and it was done haphazardly. For the price you pay per night here, I think you’ll be better off at Fullerton, Shangri-La or Marina Bay Sands.

Cons: Communicated with staff in advance for several requests and non were noted or communicated to staff. The excuse was booking was made through external agent hence message didn’t come through even though I had followed up with hotel internal staff (who confirmed by email) about the request NOT the external agent.

Cons: - Room was large and nice but felt dated - At checkin, the clerk attempted to up-sell the breakfast and Internet package for $100 per night. Internet should be included in the price I paid, especially as I chose this hotel based on that.

The service that allows customers who check out early to use the hotel room in the evening...It was the best. I think that's makes another booking near the future

Pros: Very clean and up to the Intercontinental standard. Staff were very courteous and friendly and the hotel itself is stunning with great aesthetics. The rooms are equipped with everything you could need like an iron, ironing board and an umbrella in case it rains. The mini bar was well stocked and I loved that they even had different glasses for champagne, wine etc.

Cons: It’s quite distance from the mrt station. Although I read about this in advance I didn’t expect it to be as far and walking in that sweltering Singapore heat wasn’t an option so you end up using taxis more. The pool is awkwardly positioned, there is no view and it’s quite small.

Cons: Air con was either very cold or warm..cannot change it to our temperature,and the central ventilation system was not working in toilets.

Cons: Almost 1 hour to check in and no apologies. The bathroom door accidently locked and took 40 minutes to send someone. Also when we went for breakfast my partner was told no slippers permitted. As a lifetime platinum member of Starwood I would suggest management needs a complete overhaul of staff and learn common courtesy. All in all I would never refer anyone to this or any Mandarin property.

Pros: The location was excellent, in the heart of Orchard. And two staff -- Mr Suhaimi at the 5th Floor Reception and the older doorman -- were exceedingly polite and gracious. The staff at Chetterbox were also polite and prompt.

Cons: 1. Badly-managed ground floor reception and registration. We arrived at the ground floor lobby and lined up with a number of other people. Only to be told by the young executive who finally served us -- rudely & impatiently -- that this registration counter was only for corporate bookings and we should go up to the 5th floor for all other bookings. If you intend to segregate and discriminate bookings, then perhaps some clear signage and wayfinding would help? Perhaps recognising that he had been rather rude, the young man then said he would register us anyway. He couldn't find our booking, asked to see the confirmation email, and then couldn't seem to wait the one minute it took me to call it up on my phone. 2. Poor manners at the 5th floor reception We came back at 1.30 pm and went straight up to the 5th floor reception, as instructed, to collect our keys. Chaos as there were many waiting to check-in. I lined up at what I thought was the concierge counter to ask what I needed to do if I was simply looking to collect keys rather than do a full check-in, and was barked at by another impatient man at the [unlabelled] counter to the side of me. Thank goodness for an older gentleman, Mr Suhaimi, who stepped forward to answer my simple question, promptly issued the keys, and assured us that our bags would be in our room, which it was. Kudos to Mr Suhaimi for being so well-mannered in a sea of rude Mandarin employees. 3. Went to our room. The shower cubicle had ugly black electrical tape all around the bottom, presumably to stop some sort of leak. Cheap toiletries. Old, tired fittings that haven't been updated since the late 1990s. Flat, overused pillows. 4. Breakfast the next morning at Chatterbox was dismal. Overcooked noodles, cheap butter, tasteless eggs. And a very small selection of food items that couldn't be called a buffet. 5. Rude service again at check-out, even though we had nothing to pay for and it was a straightforward sign-out. Doesn't anyone ever smile at this hotel? All in all, not worth the price, and certainly not worth our patronage. Don't bother with the Mandarin Orchard, it's way past its prime. There are many other hotels in SG that welcome you with a smile, maintain a good environment and charge you far less.
