Pros: The Hotel is located in the Heart of Savannah, just a few blocks away from the Riverwalk. As soon as we pulled up, we were greeted by the friendly Valet Staff who gave us options either with the Hotel or close by, with prices, etc. We checked in with the Front Desk who gave us information on the Wine & Cheese social and the Breakfast that is included with the Amenity fee. The room was clean and was beautifully restored and still had the original 19th Century claw-foot tub. Breakfast is held in the Atrium room under the skylight. The Breakfast is continental with eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fruit, juice, coffee and has plenty of staff walking around to help you with any other needs. We were very impressed with this Hotel and would love to visit Savannah again to stay at the other Hotels that are part of the Historic Savannah Inns Collections because if they are managed by the same company I know we are in for a treat!

Cons: I wasn't aware we had an option to park our vehicles; thought the valet set up was the only option. In all fairness, i probably didn't ask. It was very convenient, but we didn't move our vehicle all week. Next time, will re think. Maybe just check it with valet for the last day?

Cons: I arrived in Savannah around 4:00 on Saturday October 5th 2019 to check in and was told they weren't going to be able to accommodate my original reservation; saying that when you make a reservation with a third party sometimes they get over booked. While standing at the counter I witnessed them give a WHITE couple there original accommodations which was the same as mine. I questioned the issue and was told that they booked through the hotel so they didn't have a problem. I didnt believe the rep since there was another rep handling the other guest. The other room accommodations were terrible, so I went back to the front desk and asked for another room. The room they offered me after having a reservation was on the roof top where a restaurant was present which was going to be very noisy and loud once the night life sat in. They even had ear plugs for whom ever used that room which I wasn't interested in after paying $269.00 a night for my original accommodations. I have never experienced this type of radical profiling in my life. I will never book a room through your company or stay at Hyatt hotel from this date forward. I could have gotten better service from one of the surrounding hotels in the area. It was my Birthday weekend so I wanted very nice accommodations that I could enjoy......so much for that. This stay was a waste of money and the worst birthday ever. Maybe it's time for your company to pick better hotels since they seem to throw you guys up under the bus as well. Thanks for a ruined birthday by me making my accommodations with you.

Pros: The Hilton Garden Inn, Savannah Historic District was both better and worse than we expected. The location and the staff were great. However, the decor and layout of the room were disappointing. With the exception of the bathroom, the room design and decor were not what we had come to expect from Hilton Garden Inns. We have always found them to be a cut above, this one was just a cut below. However the staff we had contact with were excellent and the breakfast we had in the lobby restaurant was very as was the restaurant staff. Also the location was great, within walking distance of the Market and the riverfront.

Cons: The only thing that I can think of that wasn’t a big problem was that when we left there was no valet. It was not a real problem since we were parked near the entrance on the first floor. We left around 6 am on Friday. The staff was amazing!

Then found out it was not free and since I electronically signed the piece agreeing to the upgrade they refused to do anything about. Cons: Room was clearly being redone in some parts, spackle on the walls, no paint, tv didn’t work for hours. Balcony was aboutb2 feet by 3 feet (which we paid extra to have). Our room was extremely noisy (from the floor above us where their catering room is). Due to the noise from the catering room starting at 5am we could not sleep. Ac unit extremly loud. Would not go back for the amount of money we paid.

Cons: Breakfast was terrible. They didn’t show I had the breakfast included with my reservation . It was a hassle. The staff was friendly though and took care of it. Breakfast was sub par especially when you consider the cost of the hotel. Eggs were powdered. How awful when you are paying so much for one night. Coffee machine not working properly. We should have skipped it and head to a restaurant nearby. Towels were like sandpaper.

Even the valets were amazing we loved don’t remember his name but he always has a fan that he carries with him , he also made our visit so enjoyable, funny, and always there to help. You should be very proud of your entire staff, very lucky to have them.

Our room was over the main courtyard which was hosting a v loud party. We were in two beds (on our honeymoon). No coffee making facilities in room / on floor. Room felt tired. Bathroom a joke. This all would have been totally fine if reflected in price - which it really wasn’t. The place is expensive. And you would expect a LOT more for your money. Don’t book.

Cons: Renovations going on but it wasn't an inconvenience and our ceiling fan and lights would come on and off while trying to sleep. They did offer someone to repair it.

Cons: The front desk person when we arrived was not very welcoming and this surprised us since we had read such good reviews! Most of the other staff we encountered were helpful. We weren’t aware of the construction going on when we booked so that was a little frustrating! Also, we had a lot of issues with the key cards! They didn’t work well and we had to get them reset several times.

Cons: The room was insanely humid. The bathroom floor was slick with a film which coated all hard surfaces in the room. I couldn't breathe and eventually gave up and left. When I got to my next destination my clothes smelled like mildew.

Cons: We did lose water briefly during our stay, I understand things like this may happen especially in the older buildings. The staff were great in their response to this problem. Our main complaint centered around one particular staff member at the front desk during the evening time around 6pm. She was not approachable to be the one to check us in. Not helpful at all. We felt as if we were bothering her to check in. We also had guests arrive to visit us around 6 pm on our 2nd day. They called her “grumpy”. And yes it was the same individual. We later over heard a conversation at the elevator. Those guests had the same experience from this lady as we did. She definitely does not need to be in customer service. Every other staff member we encountered was friendly and smiling.

Cons: Surprise $20 per day destination fee upon check in; 3 of 4 floors under major renovation and not limited to one area but thru out; debris and dust everywhere; 3 hrs no electricity on 1st day; 3.5 hours no cable 1st day at different time from no elect; room not serviced 3rd day; contractors doing work in our room unknown to us 4th day; floor sanding until 10pm 4th night; no counters in bath room; bedside tables were 6-8 inches higher than mattress; no extra elect outlet space; expressed dissatisfaction with gen manager on 4th day and he said he'd drop destination fee and reduce room rate but upon check out there was no reduction just a voucher for 20% off next visit; fat chance on that!

I had a small incident with my first room, it had roaches, but the staff quickly took care of the issue. I really appreciated that. I will certainly be going back for a visit. I loved the stay. We enjoyed everything.

Cons: The hotel needs some TLC. The carpet tiles are coming up and very dirty. This is as you are entering the elevator area. I booked and paid for a king river view however as we were heading to our room I asked if this is what we were getting and they said no. So they changed our room. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and went to dinner but when we got back there was water all over the bathroom floor so they changed our room to the one right next door. The next day the shower head was broke and actually came off so we informed the front desk and they said someone would be up to fix it but it was never fixed. Too many incidents for our stay.

AC not working and closet door broken. Desk lamp didnt work either. No nightside table on one side of bed. Day 2...left note for housecleaning asking for linens to be changed and room vacuumed. As we left the room to head out for the day, overheard the male housekeeper using the "f" word in the hallway. That was so discusting! Retuned back after day out to find the room hadnt been vacuumed, linens changed but dirty linens left on floor and the wine spill on nightside table had not been wiped up. Very disappointed overall. Will not be returning and would not recommend this hotel. Inexpensive yes but we will pay the higher cost and upgrade to a brand hotel next time.

Cons: Truthfully, the only positive thing about the hotel was it's lovation. The staff was rude and unhelpful. The room had bugs- we found a dead cockroach in the bathroom. When we alerted the staff, the manager advised that she was not a housekeeper.
