Pros: Classic old building which is tastefully decorated; nice little courtyard to relax; very centrally located but still quiet; very friendly stuff who gave great recommendations for restaurants; afternoon tea was a great touch; would definitely come back

Cons: The one improvement would be the breakfast; the breakfast itself was excellent but selection was very limited (nothing was laid out like muffins, scones, fruit salad, etc.); you had to pick a time for breakfast and order the day before

Pros: Absolutely blown away by this place. Extremely comfortable, located in the heart of the historic district and we felt very pampered. Hands down the finest place we've stayed in recent memory.

Cons: There was a small hiccup on breakfast the 2nd day. My wife's breakfast seemed to have been forgotten but that was very quickly remedied.

Cons: They had construction work that started 8 in the morning that you could hear banging and loud music. We also over paid, as soon as we walked in the staff was quoting someone about $80 difference. Not happy.

Cons: We did lose water briefly during our stay, I understand things like this may happen especially in the older buildings. The staff were great in their response to this problem. Our main complaint centered around one particular staff member at the front desk during the evening time around 6pm. She was not approachable to be the one to check us in. Not helpful at all. We felt as if we were bothering her to check in. We also had guests arrive to visit us around 6 pm on our 2nd day. They called her “grumpy”. And yes it was the same individual. We later over heard a conversation at the elevator. Those guests had the same experience from this lady as we did. She definitely does not need to be in customer service. Every other staff member we encountered was friendly and smiling.

Pros: Location was great - walking distance from most attractions and restaurants.

Cons: Surprise $20 per day destination fee upon check in; 3 of 4 floors under major renovation and not limited to one area but thru out; debris and dust everywhere; 3 hrs no electricity on 1st day; 3.5 hours no cable 1st day at different time from no elect; room not serviced 3rd day; contractors doing work in our room unknown to us 4th day; floor sanding until 10pm 4th night; no counters in bath room; bedside tables were 6-8 inches higher than mattress; no extra elect outlet space; expressed dissatisfaction with gen manager on 4th day and he said he'd drop destination fee and reduce room rate but upon check out there was no reduction just a voucher for 20% off next visit; fat chance on that!

Cons: So after booking a week before. They did not have the correct room only 1 king bed for 4 adults. They then called another hotel which only had a king bed as well. So we ended up staying at the Hyatt. The hotel manager also had a bit of an attitude as well. I will never make a reservation at this place again.

Pros: I have stayed here many times, even on my honeymoon. The staff is marvelous, however booking.com failed to inform us that the facility was under renovation at the time I made the reservation. I discussed my concern with the front desk staff and they informed management. The management was very accommodating to my wife & I about this. Thanks to everyone at The River Street Inn.

Pros: Loved the old brick walls and our balcony overlooking the River. The location was excellent. Bed was exceedingly comfortable. Restaurants very close and convenient.

Cons: Inn is currently undergoing renovation which causes a lot of noise and dust. Fortunately we were in a wing where it did not impact us much.

Pros: The fact that this hotel is located in the heart of Savannah is its only redeeming quality.

Cons: The staff and state of the hotel were dreadful. The hotel was under a full-on renovation, unbeknownst to me of course when I made the reservation, and the staff had a TERRIBLE, DISRESPECTFUL attitude toward their clients, particularly when I couldn't sleep due to noise their equipment was creating. After moving rooms out of desperation to get some sleep, I was even hung up on by a hotel front desk staff person when I called her out when she had the audacity to call my room at 7 in the morning after knowing I hadn't been able to get to sleep until after 4am.

Pros: This was our second stay at The River Street Inn, and for a good reason. This place is as good as it gets. Amazing location, great views, awesome staff and really neat rooms. This place is tops.

Pros: The rooms are dated but they were very clean and we couldn't beat the price. We asked for a queen size bed and was put into a double full so it was a little uncomfortable sleeping when my husband is 6'3" and 280 lbs. Overall, it was a nice quiet place and we were able to walk right next door to the sports lounge for dinner and to watch the game. The Tail Gate lounge's customer service was a little to be desired but the food was good.

Cons: The bed was too small and the rooms could use some updating.

Pros: Room was comfortable. Price was very affordable. Very convenient to historic area with plenty of eateries nearby. No frills but great for someone who is not spending lots of time in their room.

Cons: More grab bars in the bathrooms for handicappers. Walk in showers are the safest.

Cons: There is not much to say. It is true that you get what you pay for. But this motel does not deserve the price they ask for. I stayed at much better motels with a better price. Plus accessing the lobby by first ringing a bell did not feel normal.

Pros: That there was a room available on such short notice.
