Appreciated small SUV style Ford EcoSport for travelling, had just enough space for all our luggage. Didn't have great gas mileage but very good otherwise (comfort, driveability, storage space, flexibility of putting back seats down for luggage, etc.)Reviewed 24 Sep 2021

Pros:Staff was extremely helpful. No frowns. No hassles. Just customer-service oriented.Cons:We arrrived at the Avis/Payless counter at 6 pm. Only ONE rep for both companies. When we checked our car for scratches, there were several, so we had to flag a Payless rep. She was excellent - immediately went to get another car and made sure we were satisfied. Pros:The vehicle was awesomeCons:I was late, called 7 times to the local branch, but it kept going to the call center. The call center didn't have the answer and ended up costing me double because nobody could answer a phone call. Did talk to a manager that told me they were closed and have it returned by opening og the next day, that was a lie so now I will be filing complaints with every office i can, starting with bbb and file a claim with to get a refund.Reviewed 5 Jun 2021

Pros:Counter Staff was amazing. Very customer oriented at the time of rental.Cons:Car smelled of marijuana once it sat out in the sun. I called this in Day 1 after the car was sitting in the sun and the smell was overwhelming. As soon as I got through being on hold the representative told me they noted the smell to my account and then they hung up. I wanted to swap cars, but I did not have time to call back as I was travelling on business. Then when I returned the car they emailed me my receipt. Upon review of the receipt I was charged for a tank of gas when I had turned the car in with a full tank. Called the local number on my receipt ... Put on hold..... Then hold again for them to verify .... "They made a note and corporate would email me in 3 to 5 days, the charges are already in." So in a nutshell dirty car and overcharged.Reviewed 17 Aug 2020

Pros:The new Nissan Pathfinder was the best rental car I've driven, great choice! I needed something bigger than a mid-size SUV, but I didn't want a big Tahoe or Suburban, so the Pathfinder was the perfect size and a wonderful leather interior. Pros:Desk agent was knowledgeable, professional, and couteous with no pressure or upselling. Lost a future customer over $5Cons:I picked Payless because they said they were based at the terminal (Omaha) and the others mentioned a shuttle. Payless had a desk at the terminal but it was not staffed and instead had directions to the same shuttle as all of the others. Plus it is a bit of a pet peeve when customer service agents finish their conversation with each other before attending to the needs of the customer. Also I had asked for an extra hour on the rental to finish up my conference for which I was willing to pay the hourly rate of $5. They said if I was 1 minute over I would have to pay for an extra day. I left my conference early to get it there on time (3 minutes early). Instead of them getting a little extra for the hour, they got no extra, and they got one less customer for life over $5.Reviewed 26 Feb 2018
