Pros: Loews Minneapolis Hotel completely blew me away during my stay this past week. The skyscape view was incredible, and the hotel is perfectly positioned around a ton of awesome shops, restaurants, and venues for those who get time to explore. The front desk and Star Service staff were unbelievable. I've been to hundreds of hotels in my professional lifetime, and Loews ranks among the very best hotel experiences I've ever had. Even the valet was amazing--that's hard to find.

Even the valet was amazing--that's hard to find.
Cons: The morning breakfast buffet was overpriced for what was offered. I'd suggest discounting the $20 buffet price for those staying in the hotel (perhaps if they're willing to charge to the room for verification).

Pros: This hotel was very nice I would stay here again.
Cons: My only complaint is that we went with a group of friends and had multiple rooms. We showed up an hour early for check in and they told us our rooms weren't ready. That's fine, I knew we were early. But the receptionist said I will have your rooms ready in 45min we are getting them all by each other. So I asked if they had a place for bags (we only had 4 small ones) She said the room was full. So we had to walk them all the way back to our car in the ramp. We then came back 45 min later. We felt with a different receptionist who said if we wanted to wait another 30 min he could get our rooms all by each other. We were there for an event and already running late. So we opted to just get 4 rooms anywhere (we thought that's why we were waiting the 45min first of all to get rooms by each other) I also noted they had taken other people's bags into another storage room and had people bags behind the reception desk....

Cons: Booked through Kayak via Get A Room. Though I confirmed my prepaid reservation earlier that day, at check in the front desk clerk was unable to find my reservation for several minutes and rather unfriendly. When she did locate the reservation, she did give us a nice room but overall was not welcoming. For the remainder of the day, all other staff at the hotel were very friendly, helpful and cheerful.

Cons: They were deep cleaning carpets in hallway and rooms around ours. Fortunately we were out and about most of the day, but it was kind of intrusive. Just wished someone would've given us a heads up. Didn't like paying $17 a day to park in their lot.

Pros: The executive lounge we had access to was conveniently located on our floor and provided an excellent variety of upscale hors d'oeuvres. The location was ideal. Very clean all around.
Cons: I had called early in the day that we were scheduled to arrive asking if they could put a cute note in the room along with a couple wine glasses. The lady who helped me on the phone thought it was a great idea. She asked me if I wanted 17th or 18th floor: I said 18th. When we arrived we were put on the 19th floor, the top floor. This would've been a nice surprise if the note and glasses were in the room but they weren't. The room we received also did not have the amenities that were listed when we selected the room online. Features like "spa robe, spa room, kitchen area." It was also listed as the Presidential Suite. I asked the front desk about it, showing them the reservation description on my phone. She then informed me that 3rd party bookings don't have any real say in the amenities in the room, that she was sorry, and there wasn't much she could do. It sounds like a 1st world problem, and I feel like a whiner just typing this up, but it really put a damper on my romantic plans. Had I truly known the room wouldn't have the stuff it said it would I would've kept looking and even spent more on a room that did. I assumed everything would be as I planned and it wasn't until it was too late that I found out his was not the case. Also, kind of odd, the same page that I showed to the front desk to plead my case has now been changed: it doesn't have those features listed anymore. It will be very hard for me to trust the process moving forward.

Cons: So apparently the hotel only "naturally" cools their rooms in winter and our room was very warm and there is no way to cool your room down then so we roasted the whole time we were there :( Also the fact that you have to take 2 sets of elevators to get in and out of the hotel was kinda inconvenient.

Also, some parking spots are very tricky to get in and out, even with a compact car. Breakfast gets hectic near the finishing time (9 am on weekdays); better get there early if you want to avoid a line and get some food.

Cons: For a place that considers itself an ultra-cool luxury hotel, it was disappointing. Pretty basic room (bed, desk, TV, etc), but burnt out lightbulbs, chipped mirror, pealing paint, our floor (10th) smelled like a deep fryer, and everything costs extra (e.g. Wi-Fi is $13/day). After paying so much for the room, I expected better.

Cons: It would help to have some direction (vernal and/or a sign) when you first walk in that the check-in desk is at the end of the hallway which is not obvious without walking around. Of course, this may be the intent to make you explore the opulence of the lobby with lighting features.

It was obvious that the two beds were full sized beds, not queen sized. This was not what was advertised. I was there alone, so bed size didn’t impact me, but the bed size difference for a couple would be noticeable.

Cons: The hotel is misleading in what it advertises as a "junior suite" for which they charge $50 extra per night. It is not a suite. It is just a large room. And it's not even good extra space. Just an oversized entry way and an extra strip of space between the bed and TV. Also, when i booked, there was no mention that the room didn't have a window to the outdoors; just an atrium view. Definitely not worth paying for. But the staff was kind enough to get us a better room. Apparently they've heard this complaint before.
My biggest complaint is with Kayak/Orbitz customer service. The first person I called was helpful, but got disconnected. The second argued with me and then refused to escalate me to his manager. Instead he tried to transfer me to the hotel, but nobody answered. I called back again and asked for a manager at Orbitz, but nobody answered there either. I wanted to reward Kayak with the booking since I used their service to find the hotel, but I will never book via Kayak again after that atrocious customer service.

Pros: The feel and vibe of the place is awesome. It's a cute little building in a sea of mirrored skyscrapers. The guest staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space in our room to spread out and for my daughter to crawl around.
Lots of great restuarants are within walking distance and the conference center is only 5 blocks away. They even offer to shuttle you over if you don't want to walk that short distance.

The fitness center is very small but adequate. It wasn't crowded when I uesd it but I could see that it could get filled up very fast at the right time of day. One of the 10lb and one of the 12lb weights were missing so I had to use the 15lbs to have a matched set. But that just made me work a little harder which isn't really a bad thing.

Bed was very comfortable and the room was nicely furnished - for the size of the bed though it could have used probably two more pillows. The front desk clerk, Kate, that assisted us with check in was so friendly and helpful when we asked for restaurant and nightlife recommendations and directions. Her suggestions were spot-on! She also upgraded us to a higher floor room and gave us complimentary wifi (I believe it was somewhere around $15 a day otherwise).

Cons: The pool and spa area were completely overrun with children and adults loosely supervising them. Kids were running, splashing in the spa, going in and out of the workout room... this isn't necessarily the hotel's problem, but my boyfriend and I were really looking forward to a soak in the hot tub that never happened. Also, we received a voucher for an appetizer in the lounge at check in. The night we decided to use it, my boyfriend had left his wallet in the room. When we sat at the bar, I ordered a glass of wine (I had my wallet and ID), and he ordered water, but we were told that we could not sit at the bar if he didn't have ID. He wasn't drinking, but they made us move to a table that was - quite literally - two feet farther away from the bar than we were previously. The appetizer that we received was nothing spectacular (we had the potato skins) and tasted very bland. We didn't order anything but the free app and it took almost twenty five minutes to get it. The water glasses were stained and looked a little dirty. I was not impressed with the lounge or it's staff.

Cons: You got to set your expectations on size low, Immediately my buddy had to rub in my face "way to go on getting the smallest room bruh" I replied "ST@#" started getting ready for our concert, I then call the frount desk and ask for one of them rolly beds, "yes sir we will send it right up" bam problem adverted, took an hr to get all ready (bruh was being a pre- donna ) still no bed, phhh we gots to go so they will come drop it off , so we leave ( fast forward through all the dark/IPA non hipster beer fest, eye melting, ear penetrating, mind blowing sounds of senses fail/sum41 and post game pizza at louches) drunk walk back from all that madness, get to the lobby and apparently Vinilla Ice Ice baby is staying there to and had all his groupies waiting down there for them, a couple girls come up to my buddy and ask "do you know which room he is in?" That playa was all like " yeah follow us we just ran to get Ice his "stuff" " up the elevator and to the door *fist bump* open the door......just the small room, 1 bed (no roll out) SMH. Called front desk again "sorry we are completely out" nooooo! I called shotgun so I was legit, buddy froze on the floor, at 3, 5, 8 am sounded like someone was banging on our door, royaly pissed me off, (no one was even there!?) after the second knock and my friend slowly dieing of hypothermia we called and asked them to send up pillows and blankets, got them , bro was no longer a popsicle. Woke up called the manager/ now we all good, I would totally stay here again when I'm downtown!! For realzies!

We arrived at the hotel early on the morning of our stay, and the hotel sent us a text when we were on our way and promptly made sure a room was ready for us (hours before check-in!) and also sent us instructions on parking options in the area. We also got an upgraded room, which we weren’t expecting. The lobby area is extremely comfortable, with a lot of various seating options, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We’d love to stay here again!

There was also an opaque window in the shower that opened up into the bedroom-- we found that to be a little bit odd.

Free wifi seems common enough these days that the hotel ought to call out "no free wifi" a little more obviously in search results and listings on travel sites. It's frustrating to pay for a room and then feel nickel-and-dimed once you check in.

It turned out that we were unable to adjust the temp for the entire stay!!!!! Upon check out we discovered that they had charged us for an extra day of parking. It was taken care of but employee not to happy to do it. I would never ever stay here again and would never recommend it to anyone!!!!!!!! Also apple products do not work in the room.

And, she was downright unwelcoming. She treated everyone like a wet rag. I recommend the hotel invest in training. I also had a very negative experience with central Reservations the previous week. HIlton needs to think about customer service or they will be eaten alive by Marriott. Call Southwest Airlines or Marriott and find out what it means to be customer-focused, not hotel-focused. Sham

Cons: The ONLY suggestion I have is that when checking in, the person at the front desk should inform you of the security deposit that will be charged to your credit/ debit card at the time of check in. We were not informed at time of check in, and were instead given a loud knock on our room door (while we were taking naps after a long day of travel) saying that our payment was declined and that we would not be allowed to stay there if we didn't come to the front desk to make the payment. We all ended up laughing it off, but a warning to let me know my card (which I keep very little money on at any given time) would be charged $200, would have prevented the issue in the first place.
