Cons: I did not like that they charge $5.95 for every 15 minutes of computer usage in their business center (after first 15 minutes free each day). I did not like that a soda or candy bar in the room cost $8 - $10. I would have preferred a free breakfast.

Cons: The staff at the front desk was straight up rude! This lady was use barely understandable at the front desk and wouldn't let me check in because I had my wife's credit card and she wasn't there yet. She said "Don't you have any cash?"

Cons: TV did not work. After 6 minutes on hold for Front Desk, I went back down and asked for engineering to fix. Had dinner at Ship Tavern (Frank was great; 58 years at the Brown!) instead of room service so I could watch the World Series. Checked back at the Front Desk before going back up and was assured TV was working - it was not. Another interminable hold, another trip back down, another visit from engineering. Finally got to watch the game. Took six minutes for "hot" water to show up (Room 631) for a shower in the morning. Now I understand why the Brown was the lowest price room near downtown last night (less than the Holiday Inn Express). PS - I am a member of the Churchill cigar club.

Pros: We loved the service!!! Everyone from Bellmen, concierge, to all of the wait staff in the restaurants and lobby service was superb!! The Lobby music was fun and relaxing and we laughed at the "Snoopy" dance! A beautiful building with such wonderful history.
Cons: The ceiling fan didn't work without a horrible squeal, the lights on the bed were out. The alarm clock was blinking and requested to have reset. The bathroom wasn't very clean, nor carpet. There was a pill on the floor, plastic pieces from a mans dress shirt on the carpet and other pieces of lint, etc., you could tell the carpet had not been vacuumed properly. Outside our room was the housekeeping closet, which the door had been left open many times during the day and evening, glasses in hallway not picked up, carpet in front of our room and hallway to elevator was never cleaned in the three nights we were there and housekeeping was very loud on Sunday morning in hallway.

Cons: The bed itself sucked. Let me preface, I sleep on a hard bed at home. This bed was not hard, it was a slab of concrete. Everything else was great though!

Cons: We chose the Westin for the pool. We were supposed the check in at 4p, but they weren’t able to get us into our room until nearly 6p. That was only after I went to the counter at 530p & demanded a room. They offered us a downgraded room that was ready immediately & when I declined, they were able to get us into a room that we paid for. We had evening plans, so the pool was out. We could have stayed in a comparable hotel with no pool for less money. Very disappointed.

If you cannot find a seat at the bar, we can't really help you" and we felt blown off. I also feel like we should be informed of the renovation prior to the stay. The closed the lobby on day 2 of my stay and it was absolute chaos trying to figure out where to go. They labeled things - - but not well. There were literally several of us wandering around asking how to get out of the facility. I would pay to stay there...but I think I paid too much for the inconvenience that there was.

When I politely asked for a spoon, she huffed and said "you gotta give me a minute!" There were four other people in the restaurant. She NEVER brought the spoon. A simple "Oops! I'll be right back" would have been well received.

Cons: Guest services really dropped the ball. We needed toothpaste and contact solution and they offer it free. We called guest services 3 times with assurance that they’d bring it right up. Ended up going to the front counter, only to get just toothpaste. Contact solution would “be sent up immediately”. Never came, and we ended up stocking up on supplies at the 7-11 next door. In addition, the shower pressure was terrible, which is unusual at hotels in my experience. Other than that it was a nice stay! For the price I paid though, I probably won’t be staying here again right away. It’s not a bad hotel by any means, it’s just pricey and I expect more for $175 a night.

Cons: The check in took a long time and the staff was rude. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and nobody apologized. It’s $42 a night for parking! When I got my car back after a snowy day the guy had rolled down the window and snow was in my car. He didn’t even scrape off my windshield very well before he drove it across the street. Then he gave it to me all snowy and expected me to drive it.

Cons: I had to change my first room because the heater was not working properly and then the shower didn’t have hot water. I had technicians come by for each issue and It did not fix it. I asked to change rooms and I was given a small refund for the inconvenience of moving to another room and a free upgrade. The team here at this location are outstanding.

Cons: Rooms were MUCH smaller than the photos would indicate, Toilet area very small and paper hard to reach. Flush handle is in the wall, that is a new one. Water ran 5 minutes before shower was hot. Paint peeling on the shower ceiling. Pillows were not what i was used to at other hotels. TV had no guide as to what is on, only the channel numbers and name of station. No way to know what movie you are watching. Coffee in lobby was cold. Ice not on every floor. Had to go up one or down 2 get get it. Fridge or micro in room would be nice. I expected it although it was not in the description after all.

Cons: Had trouble sleeping because the room doors made a very loud noise when closing and people continue to arrive until 4 am. The hallways smelled like fried food, fortunately the room did not. Even with the window closed, I could still feel the cold breeze and needed to pull out extra layers to keep warm; I could hear clear conversation from people outside and smell the smoke from people smoking, but this was for a short period.

Cons: The only issue I experienced was that when I checked in, my room was quite cold. When I asked the front desk person about adjusting it, he stated that everything is centralized on the main level, so there was no way to adjust each room. He also said that the heat would kick on more into the night, when the temp dropped outside. This definitely happened, as then my room got overly warm during the middle of the night - I had to kick off my blanket.

Cons: Very close to my room (5 meters away from my bed, separated by a wall with thin window) there was a food truck that played loud and annoying italo/latin american music from 11pm to 3am. It was impossible to find sleep during this time. I asked the staff whether they can do anything but they just replied, very annoyed: "we can't do anything, that's how it is!" - they didn't offer me to change the room, all they offered me were earplugs (which did not help). I was expecting noise and can handle street noise (it was loud anyway but that was fine), but the music was unbearable. If you want to sleep, this is the wrong hostel. If you want to party and get home at 3am anyway, it is a good hostel. I don't think all rooms are affected by the truck, but mine was and it was horrible - I've stayed in over 30 different hostels in my life, and that was by far the worst night.
