Cons: No restaurant, that’s okay since breakfast is provided in the room and there are so many local restaurants. Later hours for bar would be nice.

Cons: Did not like the butler concept. A butler is something we do not need when traveling and after long trip we had to wait a while for our butler find us and show us to our room vs. just getting keys and heading up to room. Seemed understaffed at front desk- juggling phone calls and guests checking in/out (they will not give you your room key until the butler shows up). Lobby area is small which fits the mold of boutique hotel but is not very inviting. The 'happy hour' offerings were weak. Check in staff seemed displeased when we chose not to use their valet parking.

They are extremely thoughtful, we used the local gym pass and had forgotten our lock at home. There are locks available to borrow, towels and bottles of water whenever needed. (There was never a shortage of cold water) The included breakfast options to eat and location you'd like to enjoy was a big plus for us as it saved time from figuring out another meal. It's a very cute and comfortable place to stay within walking distance to downtown, but far enough away to avoid the noise and unwind.

Pros: My husband and I enjoyed the entire visit at the Indigo Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary in early January. The room was beautifully decorated and full of charm. The breakfast and evening reception made us feel welcome from start to finish. We appreciated small touches in the bathroom and the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the lobby throughout the day. Do not look for a grand lobby as in one of those cookie-cutter brand hotels. This is a boutique hotel set in a historic building with a beautiful courtyard from the 1800's. Not only will you live in history for a few days, but you will be in walking distance of all the key restaurants and historic places in downtown Charleston. Thanks Lorenzo, Lucille, and all the front desk staff!

Cons: There's a central courtyard. One night there were folks in the courtyard until later hours. They were not necessarily partying, but there were loud conversations that carried right into my room. I prefer quiet at night, so this is my only minor complaint.

The location was great, right next to the marketplace, which was a convenience for picking up things I forgot to pack! It is a very short walk to the river. Cons: Check-in staff was a little stuffy, room window was beside auxiliary generator that came on very loudly while we were there, and a parking deck, NO VIEW AT ALL! Got a text ahead of time to let me know we would be getting a high floor with a view only to get just the opposite. The rooftop bar and restaurant was more of a tourist destination with the feel of a national restaurant chain. Due to the rooftop situation the elevator was crowded and slow.

Cons: Our room was very clean and beautiful. The only problem was that our view was of the parking garage. We stayed in Charleston last year at the Mill House hotel and we had a great view of the city. Prior to getting to Charleston we stayed at the Hyatt in Savanah and had a garden terrace room on the fourth floor which had a view of the city and river.

Pros: Superb location right in the heart of Charleston historic district. A Historic inn with wonderful ambience. Comfortable room, bed, breakfast, wine tasting/happy hour and while parking is $17 it is in a secure lot behind the inn. Additional special touches was newspaper delivered to room, coffee available in lobby by 6 am, cold water bottles at the hotel exit and umbrella in room. Staff responsive. TV died replaced right away.

Pros: The breakfast was delicious and well-balanced. The young lady serving guests was extremely friendly, helpful and pleasant to deal with. Her service was commendable. The beds were super comfortable, the room was attractively decorated and the bathroom was extraordinarily clean.
Cons: The ONLY negative was the two chairs in the room which were the only place to sit. They could have been more comfortable, although they were very attractive and well coordinated with the room's décor.

Cons: The noise from King Street kept us up all night. The walls were very thin and we could hear our neighbors every word. We also had to call and complain several times regarding the children running up and down the hallway of the apartment above us. It literally sounded like they were coming thru the ceiling.

Cons: I booked a double room with a balcony because I have 2 kids. I got a call before we arrived that they don’t have that room available and they would “upgrade” us to a king room with a pullout bed. We couldn’t get the room we reserved ahead of time and we also couldn’t cancel so we had to stick with the king room and pullout bed. When we got to our room there was only a king bed and no pullout bed, we told the staff and we had to take our luggage and kids to another room. Later that night my toddler found 2 bottles in a drawer, one of an empty Diet Coke and one full of chewing tobacco spit and after I took a shower and put the bathrobe on it was dirty. It was the most disgusting hotel and the staff did a terrible job at cleaning it. Room number 438 on January 1st to be exact just in case they want to try and see who cleaned it. Very unprofessional and dirty.

Cons: There’s no parking lot. Your options are $39/day valet or the sketchy parking garage .... which has an entrance to the hotel on the second floor where the poolside rooms are. For the price of my room that was “upgraded” (that I paid for) I expected way more bang. The room was a decent size but the bathroom was tiny, the bathtub was clogged and backed up, the makeup mirror light didn’t turn on and part of the security latch for the porch that has access to the pool area was bent and wouldn’t latch. I found a hair in my bed that was definitely not mine or my boyfriends.

The Vendue puts you right next to the water, a 2 minute walk to the very beautiful and historical Rainbow Row, and walking distance to just about anything else you’d like to explore in Historic Charleston. This was a HUGE plus, considering we didn’t want to spend the trip driving everywhere. In regards to the actual hotel, the staff was incredibly kind from the moment we pulled up, the complimentary breakfast in the morning did the trick, the room was spacious, the bed was COMFORTABLE, and the structure/flow of the room and bathroom were great as well (fabulous water pressure in the shower, always a plus). The Vendue puts you right next to the water, a 2 minute walk to the very beautiful and historical Rainbow Row, and walking distance to just about anything else you’d like to explore in Historic Charleston. This was a HUGE plus, considering we didn’t want to spend the trip driving everywhere. In regards to the actual hotel, the staff was incredibly kind from the moment we pulled up, the complimentary breakfast in the morning did the trick, the room was spacious, the bed was COMFORTABLE, and the structure/flow of the room and bathroom were great as well (fabulous water pressure in the shower, always a plus). Also, the rooftop bar didn’t hurt either, as we were able to see the most incredible sunset during our stay while sipping on drinks under heated lamps (it gets chilly in January!) Cons: The cleaning staff could (and should) be more attentive; when we first got into our hotel room, there was a q-tip (clean thank goodness) and a few strands of hairs left behind from a previous guest. But again, no scary stains, and everything else made the stay fabulous, so the 85% clean bathroom didn’t ruin our experience.

One day we didn't have enough towels. They usually provide 3 or 4, but we only had 2. I use 2 towels when I shower (one for hair and one for body). I didn't realize there were not enough towels. My husband got out of the shower and didn't have a towel! I had to give him one of my wet towels. When I told the girl at the front desk, she didn't even apologize. She just made a note to provide us with extra towels. We didn't want EXTRA towels. We just wanted the normal number. The AC was VERY loud! I had to turn up the TV every time it turned on.

Cons: This hotel was not a four star hotel. The room should have been larger and with more closet space. Door security was inadequate and no parking was mentioned. Had to park public payed parking across the street $20.00/day.
