We had an amazing view from the 9th floor. What an exceptional stay in global pandemic
Not being under mask requirements
Great location, beautiful hotel but more importantly fantastic customer service. Our room was not ready at check-in and we were willing to wait a few minutes. In under 15 minutes they had us checked in and gave us vouchers for free drinks and appetizers at the hotel restaurant. The breakfast buffet was scrumptious (at Swap Fox) and had a great selection. Plus it conveniently had a Starbucks on site. Will definitely be back!
Cool historic hotel
Elevators are 1920s size so there small with luggage but the hotel is gorgeous and embodies the Charleston spirit
Good location. Nice furnishings, decoration. Friendly staff.
Nice Boutique feel
The hotel was in a good location. The Bell staff was exceptional Check in was a breeze. Rooms were clean but a bit older.
Older small bathroom A/C that made loud noises randomly. This is not a modern hotel...but that's not all bad.
Clean, large room and lobby. Friendly staff. Front desk didn't text me as promised when room was ready, but otherwise ok.
Great location, great staff, clean gym.Nice room but bathroom is on the small side, very comfortable bed and pillows.great charming lounge with great bartender.restuarant has good breakfast at a reasonable price.First time we've stayed down this end of king st, it won't be our last.Been coming to charleston for 25 years, you can't beat this hotel for the price!
The hotel is dated and worn out. The rooms are small and very old. The bathroom is only large enough for one person and the plumbing is ancient. The hotel is overpriced for what you get. The manager was not at all accommodating when we didn't get the type of room we booked. I would never stay at this hotel again.
The beds were so comfortable and cozy and we did not hear any of the traffic on King Street on the 10th floor. It was very clean and our view was great. Could not beat the ideal location in Charleston plus a great parking garage. Very nice staff and overall it was a great experience. I will book again very soon.
The bathroom we had was very small and reminded me of a cruise ship but we were only there for two nights so it was not a big deal with my daughter.
Francis Marion Hotel
Bedding was comfortable and overall furnishings were updated
History and Comfort
The Frances Marion is to Charleston what the Peabody is to Memphis, the Edwards is to Jackson, Miss., and the Reed House to Chattanooga. All are hotel with history and character. More than that, all the staff at the Frances Marion could not have been nicer.
Liked it all.
Very good location, convenient to all downtown activities and historic features, clean, traditional atmosphere, courteous staff, reasonably priced, built-in restaurant and very interesting and sociable host with a foreign accent.
January 5 was a cold night and the room was chilly with no extra blankets, and the thermostat didn't seem to help. The cost for parking in the adjacent garage seems a bit excessive two half days and one night $17. Kind of like the golf course with $5 green fees and $50 golf balls.
The staff was very helpful and polite. The location couldn't have been better for the Historic District and the room was quiet........did not have the constant on and off noise of some hotels as the A./C turns on and off. The room was a little dated but was comfortable.
I guess in all cities parking is a problem..........so tack on an additional $14 a day to park.
The great service. The rooms were small but comfotable. Slept like a princess ! Booked 1 night, stayed 3, was upgraded to a suite
The food in the resturaunt, service was great though.
Beautiful classical looking reception area, and our room, although some of the furnishings needed renovating, was large and very comfortable, with a wonderful view. We used the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and found the food and service equally good. Hotel staff in general were friendly, courteous and very helpful.
The staff was A+. The front door bellboy became like part of my family and he was a welcome site each time we departed and returned. Also, both concierge ladies were excellent and perfect in their friendliness and information.
The bathroom was too small
The convenience to the different districts of Charleston.
very comfortable beds, nice walk in shower.
no pool, $12 a day for parking
The food and location to shopping was very good. The guys on the door was very helpful and nice.
The bed wasn't very comfortable and we felt cramped not enough space to put things.
The historical aspect, shopping availability, restaurant selections, tourist options.business friendliness, and the southern hospitality were outstanding.A return visit would be easy to do.
Our first night was completely awful because of construction noise. Your staff helped us greatly by moving us to another room for the next night. They were understanding and responsive, but we had a really bad night the first night.
