This hotel has facilities measuring 53820 square feet (5000 square meters), including a conference center. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: It's one of the best hotel we've ever been, everything was perfect. It's located in a beautiful neighbourhood, good to walk up to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. The breakfast offered a wide choice, both chinese (we were able to taste also some very tasty local food) and continental and the quality was very high. The staff was very friendly and made all possible efforts to make our stay a wonderful experience, they helped a lot also in booking a tour with driver to the Terracotta Army Museum and to get ticket for a traditional show. English was well spoken and understood, no issues.
Cons: Really nothing bad to mention, only to keep in mind that the hotel is in the south of the city and so not at walking distance from city walls and downtown. Anyway, it's not far in taxi or via metro and doesn't make any difference to see the Terracotta Amy, as the Museum is quite far away from the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were only to sorry that we could not stay longer. Everyone was so welcoming, thank you Bella & Zhou. The location is absolutely perfect for a short stay, the Pergola is walking distance with loads of malls and restaurant. The hotel right from check in to hotel colleagues welcoming you in the morning was first class. Also the club lounge team thank you for welcoming us. I can hand on heart say this is the hotel to book in Xi’an.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located in a new area at south of the city, close to shopping malls, parks and the arts district. Only 20 minutes walk to the Great Wild Goose Pagoda. The staff is very friendly and the room is spacious and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast (buffet style) are delicious. Very good area for its scenery, jogging and leisure. In the room you can find a cell phone to use during your stay; very useful to make and receive calls, search maps and other things.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The concierge staff are very good; they helped us a great deal and breakfast is very good at this hotel.
Cons: The local map provided by the Hotel needs improvement. The underground train map is completely inaccurate.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The fantastic checkin staff upgraded us to a beautiful luxurious suite. The breakfast was fantatstic with a vast selection of western and eastern delicacies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding property. 5 star amenities and lodging with wonderful staff for 3 star prices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Best location at Xi’an, walking distance to 大唐不夜城 one of the most popular areas. Lots of restaurants nearby, it’s really convenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was huge and came with every amenity possible. The staff went out of their way to help. The buffet meals were exceptional
Cons: I wish China would allow internet and things like instagram, but that is not the hotel's fault.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: During our stay in Xian, we took an overnight trip to Huashan. Upon our return, we realized we forgot to ask for our deposit (200 yuan) back from the hotel at Huashan. Amanda made the special effort to contact the hotel and get our deposit transferred back. Thanks, Amanda.. great service!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Angel and Bella were excellent, the entire team were excellent, staff have a really good attitude Really gave 110%. Thank you for the wonderful stay. The breakfast was excellent, pool was excellent and gym too. I have staid in many 5 stars, but the attention and care were a step up. The activities are excellent too, I learned some Chinese, Calligraphy and Art too. I believe this is the best hotel. I recommend non English speakers to stay in this hotel too, as a lot of staff can speak English.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent! We got incredibly personalized attention. Angel went above and beyond! She provided activities (Chinese lessons, "magic" painting, and Chinese tea class), delighting both me and the children. She even worked late to accommodate our schedule! I was truly impressed by the experience - the hotel itself is lovely, and our stay was a highlight of our trip, due in large part to staff, like Angel!

Gran Meliá Xian - Xi'an - Building

9.6 Excellent (3,354 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Exceptionally located in Qu jiang New District, besides Tang Paradise and opposite Nanhu Lake. 10mins walking distance from Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a UNESCO world heritage site. The hotel blends Chinese’s cultural and historical heritage with a decor rich in contrasts. It combines traditional luxury with the surprising avant-garde flair of Gran Meliá Hotels and Resorts. Learn more about Xian one of the oldest cities which was the capital of China for more than 2,000 years.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: spacious room, good level spa, good breckfast, good design of the hotel, helpful staff
Cons: non professional service in lobby bar - destroyed dessert but served anyway (with my complain),
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great and the views are simply stunning. You can't go wrong with any of the selected views in the list of rooms. All of the usual suspects are nearby: Starbucks, Pizza Hut, ect. as well as some premium restaurants near the hotel. The location is good enough where you can choose between a premium meal experience, or a humble meal and filling. It is a bit far from the metro, if that matters. It's a good 5 - 10 minute walk to the nearest station. Honestly, Xi'an is small enough that you can get around by taxi easily. You can save 50 - 100 RMB by taking the metro from this location directly to the Xi'an North Railway station without changing lines. In fact, it's faster and I suggest that if you are not encumbered. The piano bar in the hotel is quite nice, although a little empty at times. The service was excellent and the "Red Hands" room service was accommodating and friendly. The laundry service was prompt and quick. You will get a premium experience here. The room was really clean and the maid service does a great job each and every day. Fantastic job guys.
Cons: The WIFI was laughably bad even if you are only accessing Baidu. I couldn't do anything and had to rely on my cell phone for internet service for my PC. If you are traveling for business and absolutely need the internet, look elsewhere. A very surprising thing was the inconsistency of the shower's water temperature levels. At times, the water would suddenly jump to scalding hot as I was using it. If this was a budget hotel, I could forgive it. However, I payed a premium price for this room and I was very disappointed with a detail like this being overlooked especially with most everything being so good.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location however the side gate is closed at 11pm which is a bit too early since there is much happening at the furong xintiandi
Cons: Staff at the main door does not know how to get a taxi in for guest. He looks puzzled and apparently does not know what to do when we requested a taxi to be waved in for us. Such standard definitely does not match 5 star in any parts of the world.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is so beautiful and clean. There are lots of restaurants near by ,the metro is only about a 5 minute walk .
Cons: Food in club lounge tended to be s little cold but other than that perfect
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 4 nights in March and loved practically everything about the hotel. The overall design of the hotel, its elegant decoration, and its sheer size is meant to impress, and it does. We liked the location - situated a bit off the busy center but in a quiet, upscale part of town with a beautiful park and gardens all around, and yet, still easy to access by Metro. The restaurant serves very good food, and the breakfast is excellent. The small cakes and pastries at breakfast are like those in a fine Parisian pastry shop -- the best I've had for any breakfast buffet in any 5-star hotel (and I've been to many all over). The staff service is good, and there is always someone at the reception who speaks good English. Paloma, who heads the Guest Experience team, is simply wonderful and very welcoming. The personal attention she gave us, we appreciated very much. The hotel is large and sprawling, and the rooms spacious and tastefully decorated, with a firm bed and comfortable pillows. On our last morning, as we had to leave early to get to the railway station, they packed us breakfast bags to go, including hot coffee. For the price we paid, this Melia exceeded our expectations. The quality of the Melia service far exceeded that of a very upscale hotel in Beijing for which we paid almost 3 times the price for an exclusive club room. I had stayed in other hotels of the Melia chain before, but this was the most beautiful, and had the best service I've experienced. If I were to return to Xi'an, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Cons: The quality of the bathroom amenities (shampoo, soap, etc) could be improved (maybe more "natural", or boutique brand?). No clear signs or indications of facilities or layout map of the hotel, e.g. swimming pool. As the hotel is huge, with several wings, and beside a mall, without any sign and lack of lighting in some large halls we passed, made it so much more confusing. We wanted to try out the pool on our last evening, but despite going all around, we failed to find it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: this hotel has an awesome location close to shops and loads of restaurants. the breakfast was amazing and the selection was overwhelming. this hotel was the best of all the hotels we stayed in during our visit to china
9.2 Excellent
Pros: + The location is great (although not central) as it is close to some of the nicer areas in Xi'an. + The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. + Rooms are very comfortable.
Cons: - Several staff members did not speak English well and it was a challenge conveying some issues that we faced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best selections I've ever experienced
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and spacious room, pleasant location (not in the centre, but in a very nice part of Xian)
Vienna Hotel Xi'an Railway Station - Xi'an - Building

9.6 Excellent (1,195 reviews)
Overview Reviews

7.5 Good
Pros: Near the subway.
Cons: Rooms and furniture where quite used, but good part is that it was clean and with no unwanted insects.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very near to metro station.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I'm surprised that other travellers rated this hotel only 5.8. We nearly missed it because of bad score. It's a good hotel at good location (close to the train station and the Wall), staff is friendly and helpful (they could spead English!!!). The room is warm and comfortable. They let us use their public space (which is spacious at each floor) before our departure time.
Cons: I myself feel satisfied with this hotel. It exceeds my expectation.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Location is pretty good if you want to be next to the train station. But remember it's the old train station, the Fast G and K trains don't go there, that one is close to the airport.
Cons: It's an average hotel, nothing special, nothing too comfortable but nothing wrong with anything.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool is really nice and very few hotels in Xi'an have a outside pool.
Cons: Food and drink services by the pool area could be better as very limited.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room was excellent very spacious, hotel staff all very friendly and helpful helped make our stay perfect
Cons: Pool was a little cold but that is being picky
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rooms and good location for visiting T Army
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Secluded and tranquility, away from the city
Cons: A bit pricey
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Reason for staying here was to have close access to the Terracotta Army. Spa facilities were very good and plenty of other activities in the area. Great selection of national and international dishes in the restaurant. Had a hotel car for the day with driver (Ms Sung) never felt safer being driven in China, and that's after 60+ visits.
Cons: Needs a quite relaxing bar that doesn't have a singer trying to sing at 130 dbA, and that also serves a G & T.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean and everything you could possibly need was provided. The hotel, spa and general area was clean and safe. We liked that families were well catered for in a different part of the restaurant.
Cons: The hotel bar, the Breeze bar was very ‘disco’ like with strobe lighting which was possibly for mainland tastes and we preferred a more quieter environment.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is kids friendly place with the huge kids playground and marry go round! The hot spring and spa are very clean and nice. The service is great. Every staff is very kind and friendly.
Cons: The carpet and bench of the bathroom have the old stains.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best experience was how the staff hep us with everything we needed at this time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, modern design and facilities. Helpful staff, many speak English. Easy access to an excellent hot springs on site, which may cost extra (168 yuan/person/day) if not included in reservation package. Totally worth it to pay for it. Easy access by taxi to Terra Cotta warriors. Good value for the price paid, just be ready to pay for use of services, restaurants, etc throughout the hotel, which is typical of a western style resort/spa facility. All in-house services include charge of additional 16% in total in services fees.
Cons: The back of the room faced a large courtyard which was very nice, however, noise transmits very easily across the courtyard; our stay included a Friday night and there were some loud individuals drinking that we could hear late into the night. Also, we happened to have a stay preceding Halloween, which apparently included some big party that the hotel was throwing and having rehearsals for beforehand. This was a very loud affair, including blasting bass that disrupted both our massage as well as our time at the outdoor hot springs.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nothing Maybe George at the concierge was the only helpful person.
Cons: Very poor service experience. Nothing arranged, ordered was ever respected. We have lost one complete afternoon/evening of visiting Xi’an city due to staff incompetence. No help from management either when problems arrived. No any compensation offered neither. Probably the worst ever hotel experience in all Asia...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. Location was Okay.
Cons: Language was the only issue I faced rest every thing was fine.

Cons: The bed was kinda Chinese style Hard if you like a Hard Matress you dont mind this negative post.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff, especially Ms. He Rui Man, who worked at the front desk, were friendly, well informed, and exceptionally helpful with every request, sometimes anticipating what I would need before I thought to ask. I asked for her Chinese name so that I could write a comment and express my favorable review. In addition, the hotel facilities, themselves, are of the highest quality. Housekeeping was excellent. A jammed window was fixed within minutes. This was an exceptional experience. The food served at the breakfast and evening buffet, was wonderful. I could not be more pleased.
Cons: My only concern was the cost. It seems they only provided expensive, high value items on their menu. Light meals or snacks did not seem to be available.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The roads beautiful
Cons: No shopping areas

Reopened in 2014, Sofitel Legend People's Grand Hotel Xian features Italian restaurant, bars, spa and state of the art facilities. 8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional.
Cons: WiFi connection was poor
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel. Splendid, personalized service. Great atmosphere. Central location.
Cons: Too pricey
7.9 Good
Pros: We visited this city to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. The hotel was located in a good and secure area close to shopping, restaurant and near the East Gate of the old town wall. Staff were nice and accommodating. Room was clean and well appointed. We did have a problem with no hot water and they moved us immediately with a room upgrade. Most staff speak some English, which is very appreciated. Didn't use the pool, but had dinner in the Italian restaurant. Good Chinese red wine we tried. Manager's drinks in the afternoon are a MUST!
Cons: Once night we returned from a local food tour and we were under the impression there was a bar upstairs. When we were met at the elevator, it was with, "there's a bar downstairs" however there were other patrons drinking there. After some conversation with one of the staff (in black) asking why we can't be here, she agreed and we sat down and they took our order. We felt very uncomfortable that we were not the type of clientele (white) they wanted in that room. We were happier at the bar downstairs with nicer staff.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property itself is GRAND. The building is magnificent. You get bottler service 24/7 and everyone at the property is very helpful and they try their best to understand and satisfy your needs. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the bedding is out of this world. The breakfast is AMAZING. (For Chinese standards even at 5 star hotels)
Cons: We didn’t like the location as its far from the points of interests that we were visiting. Also the bathroom installations were great but the shower area looked like it hadn’t been well cleaned in a while.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast with local favor. A small musium about the history of the hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel was clean and the facilities where in good condition
Cons: I was very disappointed as it is an international hotel and yet 99% of the staff could not speak English. I stayed in the Sofitel Legend in Hanoi and it was spectacular and that is why I chose this hotel, but it really did not live up to the level of service I got in Vietnam.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, excellent restaurants. White Glove service from concierges.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very good location ,nice Staff If you wanted to visit the old city this is the best choice
9.2 Excellent
Pros: They have free afternoon tea and I like it very much. Just a good moment to rest before going out for dinner.
Cons: The water temperature of the bathtub is lukewarm only. I asked them to fix it, but they didn't show up.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: There is a resting sofa bed.
Cons: Breakfast can be improved by adding more variety.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: New,nice design and view
Cons: nothing
7.0 Good
Cons: The stay was almost fine except for one thing - I paid in advance the whole expense online here at booking, com, however I was charged repeatedly when I got to the hotel. The receptionist insisted that it was only booking fee I paid online and it would be returned to me when I checked out. It turned out that 2 weeks after I checked out the money was still not back, and thus I called the hotel. They looked into that and promised me that they would return me the money on that day. So if I did not call, they would never do that? But the funny think is on that day the money was in fact not back on my bank account. I called the hotel again and this time the processing time may take up to one month - why made it so inconvenient for customers? I paid twice and I could not even get my own money back on time - why did I have to wait for that and what happened I needed this amount of money myself? For this point, I do not think that I will stay at Hyatt again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is close to a park and a shopping mall. It is great for those who would like to go for a run or do some grocery shopping in the morning/evening.
Cons: The hotel is huge. It is a long walk to the main entrance. Other entrances are not staffed, so not very useful. The facilities are fine, but somehow lack of maintenance or consideration in terms of design. For instance, 1) the shower switch has no handle. When I had shower gel in my hand, I was unable to switch it on. 2) The door to the balcony is connected to the air conditioner (for the sake of energy saving). Due to lack of maintenance, when we arrived, we were not able to lock the door, hence the air conditioner could not be turned on. 3) The bathroom has an automatic lighting system. Whenever someone enters the bathroom, the light turns on automatically. Funnily, after I turned it off at night, one tiny step of me leaving the bathroom would trigger the sensor and the light turned back on. Therefore, the light was on for the entire night, which was really annoying.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous construction in a beautiful area.
Cons: Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding customer service and the overall atmosphere of the facility
Cons: Nothing on the bad side
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel design and staff was really good, specially for the interior decoration. Also the shower was really good and room size. Staff help me always with transportation and to organize a trip to the terra-cotta warriors. It was good.
Cons: I didn't like the following: -TV was not working good, I had a lot of problems with the control remote, also the channels were all blurry and bad reception. -The room service had not all the food in the menu -At the check out they made a problem with the return of the credit card deposit.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing

Pros: Staff was accommodating. Breakfast was good. We were only there for one night.
5.0 Okay
Cons: No air con - when I asked for it to be fixed we were told to open a window. Pollution was 300+ aqi. After paying for a deluxe king room I don’t think this is an acceptable solution to a top of 30 degrees where my girlfriend had to have a cold shower in the muddle of the night because she couldn’t sleep.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect in every way from the minute we arrived until we left. Received an upgrade to suites which was fabulous. The staff were all very friendly but most fantastic was Guest Manager Sherry who was absolutely stand out. Cons: The gym and pool are advertised as being 24hrs on bookings.com but unfortunately they are actually only open 6am -10pm, so I didn't get to use them on this trip.

Pros: They upgraded our room .. to a deluxe suite ..it was a great experience .
Cons: It will be better if they have more variety of continental food .. as we can’t eat authentic Chinese .. but we eat non-veg . Even then we could not eat much in the breakfast .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Big room. Comfortable bed. Close to metro. Nice receptionists whom help us few times.
Cons: Noisy room near ours; the isolation seems not be enough for noisy people. Non-smoking room but smell of cigars. Mosquito during one night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent and very accommodating, Food was good, location was good for us. loved the greeting when we arrived and the staff were very friendly.
Cons: nothing It was all very good. tours were good.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Big and quiet room, comfortable bed, good location close to metro station. Kindly given a gift of fruit and wine as birthday gift. Reception staff efficient with organising taxi.
Cons: Breakfast and dinner buffet ok but not good considering the cost. WiFi stopped working for hours and when staff were asked about this, they would say only that it "maybe wouldn't work for a long time." It was eventually fixed, but it was a lot of hassle. Whilst staff tried to be helpful, continuous phone calls and knocks on the door to apologise were an unwanted and unnecessary disturbance of the peace. Staff not as knowledgeable with tourist info as expected.
10.0 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: Hotels conveniently located.
Cons: I made a booking for 3 persons (1 couple and 1 child of 12 years). They gave me 2 separate rooms which was mentioned on the confirmation mail (so no surprises). However the 2nd room was 6 rooms apart. I asked them how do they expect a child to stay 6 rooms apart. They pretended its the fault of booking.com when the booking clearly mentioned 1 coupe and child. 2nd day the manager came and gave us the neighbouring room which was a much larger upgraded room. This was a nice gesture from the manager.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, spacious room, excellent breakfast buffet.
Cons: It wasn’t always easy to find a staff member who speaks English.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beds have more western mattress solid but not hard. Close to the subway. Staff found another staff member that could speak English to help order taxi’s. We checked on late but they kept the kitchen open for us.
Cons: We registered with breakfast included, the website is not working so when we arrived we had to add the cost of breakfast. Not many vegetarian options on the buffet. Checking out they were not able to have the final bill ready.

Cons: Staff weren't happy to answer questions and mostly ignored the guest and talked amongst themselves. Bathroom door was sliding and creaky. Shower was visible in the room apart from a curtain that pulled up/down by the person in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Friendly staff
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Reception doesn’t speak any English. A thousand deposit for what??? Fried eggs on the same pan as bacon,...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, very central and only a short walk to Muslim quarters, street market, small pagoda as well as both towers (bell and drum). The rooms were relatively clean, and most staff spoke English. The staff were kind and friendly they helped resolve all our issues very quickly and helped us find the local attractions as well as recommending good places to eat that were more local and tourist.
Cons: Even though we were in non smoking rooms, people were smoking outside our door and had previously smoked in the rooms, there was cigarette burns on the side. The staff were friendly and moved our rooms the interiors had the same issues but no people smoking outside at least. The restaurant was also lacking in both quality and quantity, it felt like the kitchen staff didn't know what they were doing, but with such great food outside that was not an issue The rooms also did not have windows and the heating was permanently on, but if you plan to explore like us that isn't an issue.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the reception desk went above and beyond helping us with our needs. Being from the States, we found it a bit difficult with getting transportation. The staff resolved these issues for us. This hotel is in a great location. It is very clean and comfortable. Book here if you are staying in Xi'an. Additional comment: If you are going to Xi'an to see the Terra Cotta Soldiers, plan to stay in Xi'an a day or two more. This is a great city with lots going on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Language is an issue
7.7 Good
Pros: Room was nice. Location was good- or can be bad because too close to Muslim street, a tourism place. You can't get real good food there. Traffic can be very bad all day long. beddings look clean.
Cons: Breakfast is not included. We paid 68/ person. Carpet was dirty. Stains all over.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, the staff, and comfortable rooms. Great stay!
Cons: Nothing to highlight, really pleasant stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Comfortable hotel. Good facilities. Pool was great. We were offered an upgrade on check in for an extra 700RMB for our stay and it was well worth it. Included breakfast, late check out, happy hour and afternoon tea in the executive lounge. Luna deserves a special mention for her help with finding a fabulous local noodle place for lunch and her patience with the younger members of our group. She was a real credit to the Hilton team
Cons: Nothing. Just a shame that having booked through Booking.com, I wasn’t able to register the stay for Hilton points.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was so beautiful and staff was very helpful. They haloed arranges a driver to take us to Terra-cotta warriors for the whole day including stops along the way. The Happy Hour and Afternoon tea was also amazing if you can make the time. We didn’t have the breakfast but I’m sure would have been amazing too. I really appreciated the decor in the lobby, very elegant and historical references.
Cons: None!
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is great, concierge service was excellent!
Cons: The room seems damp and smelt of dampness everyday when we returned to the hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Break fast should have the vegetarian and non-vegetarian sign on the food counters. It is said the world is not conducive for the vegetarians.
Cons: The room had a glass window for the toilet which we did not like and the food did not have the sign.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: My husband and myself stayed at Hilton 4 nights. After a tiring, long and delayed flight we checked in and the room was terrible.. old and dirty, bathroom smelled like an ashtray (it was a non smoking room) they changed our room , but still it was too far from Hilton Hotel standards (don’t trust the pictures at all!!!), every time we had shower in our slippers, because the floor In the shower never looked clean. Western restaurant was terrible as well, even the menu is full of food stains. Every night we had dinner at Chinese restaurant in the hotel, it was very hard to find English speaking waiter and make the order (even though there are pictures), each night it was only us and maximum 1 more table occupied, for this amount of clients the service is extremely bad and slow. Food is ok Last night we had our usual dinner at Chinese restaurant and after we asked for the bill , manager came to our table, interacted our conversation to inform us that our deposit has been finished and we need to add more deposit (at the reception of the hotel). This behavior is extremely rude and unprofessional. The high light of the trip is in-room dining in the morning of our check out , which we were waiting since 6:00am to 6:30am , it never arrived and when we left the room we found out that our order(a door menu which you fill up, put outside and staff supposed to collect it before 3:00am) was never collected. So we left hungry.. We travel a lot around the world and China and this is the first time we experienced such a bad service in a 5 start worldwide known Hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality Comfort and facilities of room Nice concierge service

7.1 Good
Pros: Mens change room had two built in pools. One hot and one cold. Very nice to relax.
Cons: I asked for a taxi then waited 15 minutes while the hotel ordered a special one that cost twice as much as a normal cab. As a result of the wait I missed my train to Beijing. I could have just walked to the street and got a half price cab right away.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent Breakfast!
Cons: The hotel should offer free shuttle bus to main attractions.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food at breakfast! Childfriendly

Pros: The service from the English-speaking staff was exquisite. They cleaned the room several times a day, reflilling our waters etc. Good breakfast.
Cons: The rooms were a little run down.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing and service was prompt during our stay. The staff go out of their way to greet you and make your stay more personalized.
Cons: Although not in the center of town- we didn't mind.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Opulence & grandeur of Sofitel luxury.
Cons: Bacon rashers at breakfast not crispy but chewy. Too many stand up instruction/notice cards in the room - fussy. Walking distance to local shops/facilities but accept it’s a big city of over 11 million on a grand scale.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms of variable renovation standard, older rooms / suite rather impractical design eg you have to operate teecooker on the floor to be able to plug it in. Breakfast + happy hour promotion chosen, very nice and generous apero riche in evenings

Pros: Location
7.9 Good
Pros: Huge buffet style breakfast . within walking distance to the city wall, metro 10 yards from the door. shower malfunction quickly fixed
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel is excellent
Cons: The bar area was not too attractive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location!! Staff lovely. The pool table kept our teenagers entertained each night!
Cons: Rooms a little tired
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Only ground floor looks like 5 star hotel. Building should be refurbished. It was a bit too posh to me, maybe 30 years ago it was something but now they should focus on being modern. Do never ask them to call for a taxi for you - you will get scammed as I did. Instead look for official taxi drivers
Cons: Couldn't be closer to the town center. Metro station 50 meters away of entrance, staff pretty helpful and kind. In menu both western and chinese meals.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel right near the South Gate and train station (Yongningmen on line 2). Fabulous location. Had a view of the South Gate and light show from our room. Easy walk to Muslim quarter. Breakfast variety was great. Staff were very helpful. Wonderful 3 night stay with my daughter.
Cons: Bathroom could be cleaner but otherwise great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very well located next to the city wall and a nice area... the room was very comfortable, clean, the service was fantastic and the breakfast was great!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms with an amazing view on the city wall. The staff was really helpful and some staff members speak some English.
Cons: Windows are not double-layered glass so you can hear the traffic, but nothing dramatic.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was pretty good, enormous selection of chinese and wester meals. Facilities well equipped. Couldn't be more in the center of city. Metro station just +/- 50 meters away from the entrance. Front desk pretty helpful and very kind (apart from taxi service they called). Never seen houskeeping as they always come when you are away, and leave your room in perfect condition.
Cons: Building should be refurbished as only ground floor looks as a 5 star's hotel. Taxi called by them was twice more expensive than official Xi'An taxi.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location at the South Gate is excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Biggest bed we’ve ever seen.
Cons: Bathroom a little dated, but that’s being over critical
