Pros: This is our first time in Santiago. We had a very reasonable rate for the weekend. After 4 weeks of travel around southern Chile we were ready for a little hotel luxury. Our room & bed were great. There’s a nice hotel restaurant where we ate outside the first night. The cafe was convenient for breakfast and the staff was very friendly. We stored our bags here for the afternoon while waiting for our evening flight. Front desk and entry staff were very nice. All was easy and comfortable which is why we chose this hotel.

Pros: The hotel is beautiful, well-appointed, modern and in a great location. It is across the street from a pretty park, near great restaurants (all price ranges), banks, 1/2 mile from the largest mall in Santiago. The buffet breakfast offers everything and is in a lovely large restaurant with a large outdoor patio. The swimming pool is small but the view is spectacular and the cabana area is nice. The hotel staff is friendly, professional and the service we received was great.

Pros: I loved the pool and bar at the top floor. Probably the best in town. The staff were sweet but needed a little nudging. V young but willing. Good atmosphere. Reception lousy on arrival. Lift system tricky - no explanation and lost our luggage for an hour but they did send up wine and cheese and divine salami so all forgiven. Look it’s not the Ritz Carlton but if you are young and want a hip vibe it’s great. Good luck W. You need to clean the windows round the pool.

Cons: The elevator system is confusing. To get from the entrance to the reception and restaurant floor is one elevator bank. To get to your room is a different elevator bank. To get to the pool area is another elevator bank. The pool area has a cocktail bar area which is a bit of a young party scene. Need more hooks in the bathroom.

Cons: Horrible check-in experience: despite the pre-stay correspondence I was waiting 3 hours to check-in after 24h trip. The reception staff incredible rude and unhelpful bitching in Spanish about me (without knowing that I am a Spanish speaker). I was "offered" a lower grade room in exchange. Fortunately the roof bar staff and the reception supervisor manage to act in line with a customer service recovery expected from this brand

Pros: The room is way overpriced it is small no kleenex or complimentary water nothing. I wouldn’t care if the price wasn’t over 200 dollars a nite which is substantially more then most hotels in Santiago. We were in the Providencia area which is a far walk from downtown. We stayed here because we were catching a cruise and this is the hotel they used. All I can say is they should be ashamed of themselves for charging what they do and please note this does not include breakfast like other hotels in Santiago. Never again call the cost tuition .

Pros: we were at the hotel last year when it was the Atton. we were happy to see some staff from last year who greeted us warmly ! cafeteria staff were very helpful with food related issues as well as answering questions about transportation ideas. we were nicely surprised by the diversity of the staff. Emmanuel on the cleaning. staff was friendly and very thorough in his job and made the outside patio a wonderful place to sit and spend time . His ability to speak spanish and french was wonderful. Oscar the supervisor in the restaurant was exceptional... friendly , helpful and went out of his way to offer the best service to us . His language skills in spanish and english were great . He created a lovely work environment . the location is excellent . .. walking distance to centro costanera on clean city sidewalks with beautiful buildings and to parque bicentenario... and local conviene stores . also easy access to highway to airport and other locations in chile . also great breakfast .. café machine was fabulous . marraqueta and mermelada de mora was a delicious way to start the day . smoking area outside was much appreciated .

I always stay here for business and when I bring my family. For the family I recommend the larger rooms in the front tower, which were super nice for me, my wife 11 years old boy and baby (the staff added a crab which we used between the two queen beds). But for business the smallest one (the business suites) are super fine. Another think that is very nice is the lobby. The bar and restaurant are complete, with comfortable chairs and sofas, power network on the islands in middle, and nice food for dinner and snacks to while working with the computer. There is also a DJ late in the afternoon that adds a nice atmosphere. The gym is very complete and the swimming pool is super nice too and quiet. So I supper recommend.

Cons: The first time we arrived it was 7 am and they wanted to charge us $100 to check in early. We were staying a total of 5 days and the room was clean and empty. After an hour of discussing it they called a manager at home who said we could check in early. The second time we arrived they put us in a horrible room. The rug was worn and rippled. The shower had mildew and ended up leaking. The molding was coming off the ceiling and wall. The a c was noisy. We have stayed in $70 rooms in the US that were much better than this $200 room. After we complained they offered to move us to a suite for the day left but it was too much trouble for one night. They gave us access to their VIP lounge which was very nice... Free drinks and very nice snacks. They were very nice about it but it was still a $200 room that we wouldn't pay $50 for at home. I would recommend going someplace else.

The restaurant was nicely appointed providing good food from early morning to late evening. We stayed three weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Nice little spot with a small swimming pool to have a drink and relax. The neighborhood of Las Condes felt safe after dark, and contained a variety of restaurants within walking distance, although we spent many evenings in other districts.
We had no trouble using this location to be picked up for a number of guided tours, and found the staff friendly and helpful, despite our limited Spanish. As well, we enjoyed the breakfast offerings and ambiance of the bar area. We were also glad of the fast in-room wifi, along with the printer and computers in the guest office space.

Pros: The lady helping our check-in was very helpful. Since our flight was late evening, the hotel let us use their fitness center for a shower before leaving for the airport, which was very nice. The breakfast buffet was generous in selection and tasty.

Pros: The location of the hotel is great, really near Salvador metro, but also close to downtown - areas to the west such as Barrio Lastarria, Bella Artes, it’s easy to walk south to Barrio Italia, and also to walk north across the bridge to Bella Vista, and on to Parque Metropolitano and San Cristobal Hill. I even walked through the park by the river to the commercial district to Gran Torre. The staff were fantastic - in particular, Victor, who helped me check in (I was able to check in a great 4 hours early which was perfect), so lovely and always asking if I needed anything. Housekeeping were great, let me borrow an iron without asking for it back, and the buffet restaurant staff were very sweet too. Buffet breakfast was good (I am vegan). They had a range of local breads, salsas, jams, fruits and sautéed vegetables. They have an omelette chef too (for non - vegans). I was staying in a suite which was a great size to spread out for a weeks stay, a walk in wardrobe and a writing desk. There was a sofa bed although had no need for this.

Cons: I booked a double bed but at arrival received 2 bed room. Only at my request did they offer a double bed the next day. It was very hot. Air condition took more than a day to cool the room.

Cons: We asked the hotel about the situation around the facility and were told there was no problem anymore. However, we were not able to walk outside due to protesting activities during our whole stay. If we knew the presentation situation, we would have chosen to stay away from this area.

Cons: Dining options, Ground Transportation and location. Location was my fault. I should have researched it a bit more, but its primarily located in a residential district. Dining options...perhaps its just Chile, but the breakfast was extra ($13 extra), the restaurant didn't open until 7pm, so 'lunch' consisted of eating in the bar (which of course had limited offerings)...At dinner I had to order 5 different things before I just handed the waitress the menu and said, "Just pick something out for me that you have available"...and the Ground Transportation was pure highway robbery...double, triple and even QUADRUPLE what a normal cab fare cost (I know, because after the first day, I went to my appointments by cab). When I questioned them, I was given the standard, "Oh be afraid of the cabbies, crime, running up tab", etc. and that it was more 'convenient'...yeah, sure...had to wait 15 minutes for the driver to come out of the back room (I thought I was waiting for him to arrive). I got a cab on the streets within 3 minutes, they ALL have meters AND receipts that print out.

Cons: Unfortunately the view wasn’t great looking on to the courtyard of the neighbouring tower block. The suite was quite dark and the lighting was limited. Some of the reviews say the hotel is a little run down, it is a bit rough around the edges but still it is very clean. There wasn’t a bath unfortunately which I would have liked having done a lot of walking and cycling tours to cool down, but the shower was great. No tea/coffee making facilities, no kettle or cutlery. The sauna didn’t exist, I guess they are doing renovations, the gym had been moved to a small room on level 1 but I had to search around for it as it wasn’t pointed out. There was a lot of maintenance happening in the building, the lifts were being fixed a couple of times during the week. The current political climate in Santiago means that protests are happening in the nearby Plaza Italia, every day. Particularly Friday and Saturday are scary, the protests are violent with people raiding and looting buildings nearby, tear gas being thrown and a large police presence. On Saturday afternoon the protests spilled into Bella Vista district, while I was eating in a restaurant, so the restaurant staff had to lock us in with the shutters closed while the protestors and police passed. Fires were being started in the street, it is quite scary although the locals say you get used to it and no real violence comes of it, which is hard to believe. So the hotels proximity to these protest areas may be a bit concerning for some travellers, as protestors have been known to enter hotels and destroy them. Hopefully this doesn’t happen, Santiago is an incredibly beautiful lively friendly city and the hotel is a great place to stay.
