Pros: We had an unexpected overnight stay in the area and saw the positive hotel reviews online. Modern updated lobby, clean. No frills room. Near freeway but feels secure. Across parking lot from a couple of chain restaurants. In the morning, staff gave recommendation for super breakfast location down the road. Very pleased overall.

Pros: I normally do not go out of my way to write reviews, but in this case, the management and the front desk staff went so out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfect that I truly felt compelled to do so. At first, I was surprised at how highly a motel of this style and price was rated on every website we checked. Low on options, we booked it anyway, albeit skeptically. But thankfully for Flamingo, they squashed our skepticism upon check-in and we realized the reviews were exactly right, if not high enough. I've stayed at many similar motels through the years, and usually you get what you pay for, but not at Flamingo because here you get more. Great service, good location, clean rooms, incredibly polite and attentive staff made our trip to San Jose perfect! A+

Pros: Have to admit, I only stayed here because all hotels were completely booked during my last minute business trip to the valley. I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were clean and ample. Service was great. I would stay again.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but I also don't want others to have a poor experience like I did staying at the Hayes Mansion. I even reached out to the general manager before posting this review to let him know what the state of a current guest's experience was like and see if he could correct the situation and he never replied. Truly -- no one cares if you enjoy your stay at the Hayes Mansion. Not even the general manager. So please don't make the mistake we did by giving this hotel your money. Simply put -- the amenities and services are so greatly reduced, it feels like you're paying a lot of money to stay at a hotel for ghosts. It seems the hotel is only in operation for events and hotel guests are barely accounted for in the services -- the only restaurant on the premise is barely open (closed entirely most days, only open for breakfast on Sundays), there aren't even soap dishes in the rooms for your soap bar, there are no housekeeping services -- so enjoy drinking out of the same one paper cup they give you, the doors to the hotel aren't consistently unlocked so you have to wander around trying each door of this massive complex to even get into your building, there are no minibars in the rooms and with the restaurant closed consistently the only way to grab a drink while staying here is to go to the front desk before 11pm (they will not sell you alcohol after 11pm) and hope they still have something for purchase (they were sold out of wine by the early afternoon when we stayed), etc. It's a gorgeous place that costs a lot of money, only to find yourself stranded (it's not in walking distance to absolutely anything) without food, alcohol, services or amenities. You will get better service at a Holiday Inn. Save your money. Vacations are rare. Have a fun one by staying anywhere else.

Pros: Driving up the residential street and coming upon the entrance for the 1st time gives you a feeling of stepping back in time to another era. The attention to detail and the beautiful wood trim all around gave a feeling of a very special place.

Cons: I had called ahead to make sure I coukd check in late, but when i got there, I couldn't find the front desk person (or anyone) for 5 minutes, then when I finally found her, she found my reservation, but couldn't tell what rooms were available & so had to call her manager, and long story short, it was just over half an hour between when I walked in the front door and walked into my room. She said it was her second day, which I can only imagine is really overwhelming, so I was trying to be patient, and I've had good experiences every other time I've stayed there, but i have to say, this one left a sour taste in my mouth.

Pros: We stayed here 1 night in room 121. It was a suite with easy access to the swimming pool. The back door lead right to the swimming pool. The pool looks bigger in the picture but it's still a excellent size. The staff was great and Sunday brunch was delicious. Good hotel to relax and get away from the regular 9-5.

Pros: The staff was very helpful when it was found out that the website I had booked through hadn't communicated with the hotel fully and they had to go digging for my reservation. But I got a room, it was very nice, even if a bit cramped, but that didn't detract from my stay. The grounds were very nice. I enjoyed their exercise room, it was more filled out than most hotels. I just wish I had had warmer weather to enjoy the pool and more time to enjoy every other feature of Hayes Mansion.

Cons: Breakfast was awful. Poor selection for a “buffet” they need to call it a continental breakfast which is what it is. The breakfast staff was inattentive and I had to go into the staff cubby to dig for cutlery and a napkin. Also, they wouldn’t accommodate a late checkout but did give me an extra 30 Minutes until 1230 however they clearly didn’t communicate with each other because the cleaning crew knocked aggressively twice and the front desk called twice to ask why I hadn’t left. I was only in the hotel for about 15 hours yet I was left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth and did not fee welcome there.

Cons: True price I paid was not worth the room. It was a very crampt room with ancient furniture. The rooms were a boring shade of beige and our window view was another building being constructed. It's layout seemed more that of a comfort inn with a price tag of 90 dollars a night rather than 150. It's not worth the price, if you have a car go to a comfort inn and save some money cause got the same experience.

Cons: (1) The materials for bathroom and bathtub look very cheap...like Motel 6 (2) Soap scum were very where inside the bathroom, around the walls, in between the tiles, on the floor...yuck..yuck...yuck. (3) Dust was very where inside the bathroom, on top of base board, surrounding water faucet... (4) Faucet inside the bathtub was rusty and dirty. This should be easily to take care of with $10 spray paint for home depot. (5) Rest room located on the first floor was not clean or not being cleaned regularly. Trash was overflown and just can't believe this happened at the Hyatt hotel. I would never come back here again.

Cons: We added another day and the hotel took it as an opportunity to bill us almost double for it, using "the price depends of availability", although it was clear that the hotel was far from full. That was not a good feeling. Also, the restaurant had really inconvenient hours, closing the bar at 11:00 and closing at 10:00 for breakfast. I get that the expense may be too hight to be full service 24/7, but keeping a light bar menu and the bar open for people to come in any time and get something to eat and a drink would be a big plus.

Pros: Front desk staff was very personable. I called ahead to find out about parking since I was driving a van and wasn't sure about parking clearance. He advised it was an open air parking lot. When I got to the front desk to check in, he remembered my name. Gave us free waters, asked me about my day, why I was there. Said I went hiking that day and gave recommendations for other hiking spots. Was very pleasant. Was refreshing actually such nice people and great service. Maids in the hall were very nice with smiles. Coffee downstairs was great. I will definitely be back if I am in San jose.

When I asked the front desk staff if the hotel is always full of ghetto people. They said mostly just ghetto people on the weekends. My room also looked straight across into another guests room giving you no privacy. Also $23 a night for uncovered self parking is a lot. The room was extremely small.

Cons: There are several drawbacks to this place: - it's right by the light rail tracks which turn a corne around 2 sides of the hotel. And there are 2 stops. So it is noisy. It stops about midnight and starts early morning so bring earplugs or expect to be woken up. Or both. - the walls are thin so even if the train doesn't wake you the neighbors will! - the hotel is quite expensive -- it's average for the area but then they slug you with a $25 per night parking fee which makes it expensive.

Plenty of space for folded clothes and the TV was nice. I met 3 staff members and every one of them went above and beyond.
Cons: I didn't like that they refilled our coffee with two decaf and one regular package every day. We ended up not using it because both of us couldn't drink a cup of regular. I didn't like that the towels smelled clean but weird, like they just came straight from the manufacturer. I also could have used cleaner carpets and a sink that would drain. The sliding door on the bathroom probably saved space but the lock didn't work.

All staff members were extremely nice and willing to offer any help that they could offer. The hotel was very busy due to the event, but the staff still dealt with customers in a very polite and friendly manner. I also wanted to say thank you to this hotel for not treating us any different than there other guest, we have been to other hotels and due to our ethnic background have been treated like we were some how less. This hotel did an excellent job treating everybody well and respectively Thank you so much!

Pros: The staff was amazing at accommodating our requests. I got the exact room I had hoped for. Convenient mini fridge, microwave, and disposable plates, silverware and paper towels were stocked in the room. There was a TV and a wall mounted radio, although it would have been better if the radio had a USB connection so we could play clearer music through our phones. Never got a chance to use the spa tub feature, but it looked like it would have been nice. We were literally right next door to CVS Pharmacy for any last minute necessities. I was also excited that Whole Foods was a 5 minute walk away at most. We had an easy walk to the SAP Arena where we watched the concert with the convenience of leaving our vehicle in the parking lot provided by the hotel. That saved about $25 in itself, and saved us from the concert traffic afterward. We were pleasantly surprised by the hot, cooked breakfast they provided from 6:30 to 9:30 am. Bacon, eggs, fruits, pancakes and french toast, plus other items we were too full to try. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are seeing a show at the SAP Arena.

When we got to the Hotel, the front desk lady named Amber asked for my name and she asked me for a credit card to keep and i know thats what all hotels do I've stayed in others before, soni hand her my bank card and told her the was the only visa card I carry, she immediately returned my card and said sorry but i need a different card, in a very rude way and didnt even look me in the eye. I explain to her i had reserved the room via internet and that the room was already paid and my husband and i came all the way from Salinas. She said there was nothing she can do that she couldnt accept my bank card. And i told her that I understand what she was telling me but if i knew she needed a different credit card in the first place, if when i made the reservation they made it clear i was going to need that i would have never reserve a room with them. At the and she took my card with no problem of course, but she was very unprofessional and rude. She made my husband and my self very uncomfortable. We paid around $136.00 for the night and at this moment my bank statements shows a $50 charge from them, i called to see what happend and inresived no help. I have to go personally tomorrow from Salinas to San Jose. Very unpleasant moment with Wyndham Gardens Hotel.

I attempted to contact Wyndham to complain about this. However they will not help, since it was booked through a third-party. Pros: The staff are very welcoming and accomodating. They always answered any questions with a smile, and were very quick to respond to any needs we had. The room was very clean, but there was street noise during the day. They had a nice breakfast in the mornings.
