The staff were fantastic, and I’d like to especially note the reception and the breakfast/lunch staff. The location is really good, right in the heart of Munich. Pros: The staff here is truly outstanding. The front desk staff was excellent. Very helpful and great with answering any questions. Everyone speaks english should you need it. The restaurant staff was also friendly, helpful and very accommodating.
The location is really ideal. Just 2 subway stops from the main area downtown and in a very safe, quiet, upscale neighborhood. If you were to walk, it's an easy 40 minutes.
The rooms are lovely and tastefully decorated.
There is a beautiful garden on the main floor and a great terrace on the fourth floor with sauna, steam bath and small gym.
I would stay here again without hesitation.

Walk everywhere, S bahn and U Bahn right there 200 yards from the entrance. Taxi outside the door if needed. There were brilliant restaurants abounding, and the Hotel had back access to the restaurant next door. The breakfast was unbelievable. A feast of something and everything. Fantastic. The staff were brilliant and the housekeepers were lovely.

One of the accommodation highlights of our 10 week holiday. In terms of breakfast, I had spent the previous six weeks in the middle east so coming back to a European type breakfast was wonderful. The tables were a bit close together so we looked for space outside the main part of the restaurant. All staff were wonderfully friendly, variety of food was good. Free lattes' were a bonus.

Cons: Unfortunately our top-floor suite was one floor above the lift so we had to haul luggage up and down, without help. Also, the suite was not as pretty as I expected from the online photos - it was furnished very plainly and some furnishings were tired - an old chair at the desk had a broken leg not properly fixed. Be aware that hotel rates increase a lot when there is a major exhibition in town at the Messe so re-schedule if you can (we were surprised at how expensive the rate was).

Pros: The hotel is right in the middle of the part of Munich you want to visit. Next to the market and within 200 m of the MarienPlatz, 400 m from a Hofbrau house and 600 m from the Residenz. So could not be better and the hotel itself is also very nice. The breakfast in the adjoining café was good. I would definitely go again.

Cons: It does have an elevator but it is the smallest elevator I have ever seen. I would say that only person and their luggage could fit in the elevator at one time.

Cons: You can hear absolutely everything that is happening in the hallway and/or neighboring room. Hotel could really use some noise protection. One other thing is very strong fish smell from the fast food nearby, not much the hotel can do about it but if you do not like fish smell is something to note.

Cons: Wifi wasn't available in our room (21) but that's ok because I can go a day without internet. Delivery drivers were making alot of noise early in the morning as our room had a window right to the street. None of these would keep me from coming back as it's nice to have an affordable basic room so close to the center.
