Pros: The staff here is truly outstanding. The front desk staff was excellent. Very helpful and great with answering any questions. Everyone speaks english should you need it. The restaurant staff was also friendly, helpful and very accommodating.
The location is really ideal. Just 2 subway stops from the main area downtown and in a very safe, quiet, upscale neighborhood. If you were to walk, it's an easy 40 minutes.
The rooms are lovely and tastefully decorated.
There is a beautiful garden on the main floor and a great terrace on the fourth floor with sauna, steam bath and small gym.
I would stay here again without hesitation.

Pros: The location was great, about a block from the central station, so it was easy to take a train or tram to anywhere in the city. The beds were comfortable and had nice little shelves and a bed light. The dorms and the bathroom were clean. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The hostel has a bar, which was a fun place to begin and end a night out. Basically, everything was great, and I'd definitely stay here again.

Whilst it’s not in the best part of town, it is extremely handy to public transport and amenities thanks to its vicinity to Munich Central Station, but also only a five to eight minute walk to Karlsplatz. The rooms are extremely comfortable.
In my opinion a Hotel must have:
1) A comfortable bed,
2) A decent shower,
3) Plenty of storage for large suitcases with the ability to unpack and settle in.
The Sofitel Munich Bayerpost surpassed those requirements. The beds are probably the most comfortable beds I have EVER slept in anywhere in the world (including my own). The shower has excellent water pressure and temperature control, and the rooms are spacious enough to stay in without feeling cramped. The decor and features are also extremely satisfying. I would not even contemplate staying anywhere else when I visit Munich.
I travel extensively world-wide and in my opinion this Hotel is up there with the best I have ever visited for a city stay. Not to mention the staff who are as good as you will find in any hotel in the world. They are efficient, professional, friendly and courteous, a credit to the hotel.

My friend and I enjoyed walking through the neighborhood in the evening and always found a nice place for dinner. The spa was a good place to relax, and I really like the design of the pool area. It was nice to see a pool for adults rather than just for the kids. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and the singer in the bar added a nice touch. All around, an enjoyable stay.

Cons: There was a problem at check in, the hotel desk manager informed us that booking.com did not inform them of some of our bookings(we had 4 rooms), gladly I had my reservation doc with me to solve the prob. On checking out the price they asked for the rooms was almost double of what I had booked, then again my reservation document came in handy. The manager at the check in was quite rude at first and when we sought to complain to the GM, she apologized.

We booked a double deluxe room for two nights ten days before the date, with a reasonable price and then when we want to extended the reservation to three nights they charged us very expensive price almost two times which is ridicolous. It must be the same price if you already have a reservation.

Pros: The cost was the highlight. It was the best price for a place to stay. We had a private bathroom with a shower, as well as a separate area with a wardrobe to put our clothes.
Loved the convenience of living so close to downtown Munich.
Cons: Right above a busy cafe and near a couple of restaurants. We were woken up several times by rowdy people yelling as they left these establishments.
WiFi was very spotty.

Pros: Excellent communications with the city centre. The metro is literally a stone's throw away. The hotel is open 24hours, it has its own bar with happy hour, and a fantastic Italian restaurant right next door, connected to the hotel by a door. Rooms were comfortable and warm and plenty big enough for 5 sharing.
Cons: Hardly anything is provided: no towels, no shampoo, no shower gel. Reasonably clean but don't look too closely!

Cons: There is only 1 key per room, which is a rubbish system. If someone forgets to give the key to reception then you are locked out and have to wait to get the receptionist to come back up with the master key. This system also means that when you or others are in the room the door should be left unlocked day and night! Not good for security and peace of mind.

- Bed sheets are filthy & yellowish.
- Floor carpet is filthy and smelly.
- The bed itself is broken, dusty, and very old.
- Bathroom toilet is filthy and not cleaned.
- My child's backpack was lost/stolen from the hotel.
- Room's phone wasn't working and the only way to get room service was to go down to reception.

Cons: I had problems picking up the internet signal in our room. They were happy to move us into another room but still had the same problem. Down stairs at the lobby no problems. No kettle tea/coffee in room but a 2 min walk to train station and nice coffee for only 1 euro.

Cons: The two elevators are small. The rooms doesn't have air conditioning, but with the window open. It was not that bad. WiFi signal was not too good.

Cons: Germany is undergoing a heat spell. It was close to hundred, no air conditioning, I asked for a fan, no fan, fridge does not work. I have a 11 year old along with my wife were miserable, had already paid for 2 nights. Not a good way to remember Germany.

The rooms were uncomfortable; in addition to being dated, the beds were not much better than sleeping on the floor. Internet slow; an unwelcome reminder of the bandwidth modern websites demand.
