Pros: The location was great, about a block from the central station, so it was easy to take a train or tram to anywhere in the city. The beds were comfortable and had nice little shelves and a bed light. The dorms and the bathroom were clean. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The hostel has a bar, which was a fun place to begin and end a night out. Basically, everything was great, and I'd definitely stay here again.

Cons: Clientele seemed to be adult, relatively young, European travelers and back packers. I arrived at the same time as a rather rowdy crowd. I was traveling for work, but most of the persons I observed and came across seemed to be on holiday and enjoying themselves. Can be a pro or a con.

Pros: This was our second stay at this hotel in 18 months. Whilst it’s not in the best part of town, it is extremely handy to public transport and amenities thanks to its vicinity to Munich Central Station, but also only a five to eight minute walk to Karlsplatz. The rooms are extremely comfortable.
In my opinion a Hotel must have:
1) A comfortable bed,
2) A decent shower,
3) Plenty of storage for large suitcases with the ability to unpack and settle in.
The Sofitel Munich Bayerpost surpassed those requirements. The beds are probably the most comfortable beds I have EVER slept in anywhere in the world (including my own). The shower has excellent water pressure and temperature control, and the rooms are spacious enough to stay in without feeling cramped. The decor and features are also extremely satisfying. I would not even contemplate staying anywhere else when I visit Munich.
I travel extensively world-wide and in my opinion this Hotel is up there with the best I have ever visited for a city stay. Not to mention the staff who are as good as you will find in any hotel in the world. They are efficient, professional, friendly and courteous, a credit to the hotel.

It is a very nice modern hotel in a revonated old building. The location is right by the central train station. Transportation is convenience, but not as nice as the other five stars hotels in the area. Anyway, this is by far the best among all the hotels I stayed in Munich before (and I have stayed at Four Seasons and Bayerpost, ...)

The staff were very friendly, room beautiful, excellent bed, pillow menu(!), spacious bathroom, decent hair dryer (rare to find in hotels). You must eat at the Italian restaurant on site! We had THE BEST meal at this restaurant – we were travelling Europe for 2 months so that is a big call but it is 100% true! We had the pizza bread to start, pasta and a steak for main. I could not finish the steak as I was so full :( and even more disappointed I did not have any room left for tiramisu. The breakfast buffet was very nice also, it had a great selection of hot and cold dishes. The coffee was without a doubt the nicest breakfast coffee we had while travelling. Location was excellent; right near a Metro station that went was on the Marienplatz and BMW/Olympic line.

Cons: The staff wasn't very polite when solving the problems that emerged. The smell outside the hostel was very bad (beer factory?), couldn't find any supermarket near, a bit far from the subway and train (15 long minutes walking, everyday), nothing interesting around the neighbourhood.

Cons: The guest kitchen is too small, with not enough pots and pans. Main elevator is broken, and we had to climb up one floor, go to the end of the building, and take the other one there. Ibut if your intention is shopping and sightseeing, yhat means you have to walk a lot or take the tram for two stops. The lobby is very dark and crowded like a train station. We booked a double deluxe room for two nights ten days before the date, with a reasonable price and then when we want to extended the reservation to three nights they charged us very expensive price almost two times which is ridicolous. It must be the same price if you already have a reservation.

Cons: There is only 1 key per room, which is a rubbish system. If someone forgets to give the key to reception then you are locked out and have to wait to get the receptionist to come back up with the master key. This system also means that when you or others are in the room the door should be left unlocked day and night! Not good for security and peace of mind.

Pros: Breakfast. Very good in relation to other hotels we stayed in Europe. However, generally speaking staff were very hostile towards us. We were made to pay just as we arrived (at 1 a.m.!!!). We have tralled a lot in our lives and it is the first time we have had to pay in advance!!

Cons: Rooms need more power outlet and the bed I wanted to use was wet with a mysterious liquid so I had to pick anorher bed. Also if do not recall weong they don’t mention anything about extra money for bed sheets.

Pros: Simply equipped but clean room; good price/value ratio; town centre easily available by public transport (approx. 10 minutes; tram stop max. 100 m from the hotel entrance), good breakfast is worth the charged price (4 EUR / person)
Cons: A little bit noisy - noise coming from outside (traffic) and inside hotel facilities - nevertheless it is typical for cheep hostel where mostly young people are accommodated.
