Melbourne hotels near St. Kilda Beach

Pros: Muy buena la cama y el desayuno

Cons: Teníamos grandes expectativas con este hotel y su concepto. Las fotos son engañosas, se veía un hotel más nuevo y moderno. Nos decepcionó!!

Pros: Great welcome at reception

Cons: The noise from the construction work around it and the fact guests did not have access to a computer to do some quick work (yet they have a conference room area)

Cons: Bathroom lacked some privacy e.g. when another couple joined us for a drink in the room. Innovative but probably less practical than it should be.

Pros: The location was great, as were the staff and service. I appreciated the access to internet, loved the laundry facilities and the workout facilities. The decor and theme were also fantastic.

Cons: I truly did not like the fact that I was asked to provide my credit card and was asked to approve $100/night in advance for "incidentals" I seriously considered refusing when asked this, because my credit card has already been billed for the entire cost of the stay. If there were any incidentals those, too, could have been added to the existing card. It felt degrading to be asked this. Also, I requested a DVD player my second night there. I was told there would be a $30 deposit fee and a $20/night charge. After waiting almost two hours for it to be delivered, I rang reception and requested it be cancelled as it was getting too late to watch my movie. I believe in a hotel of this quality, a dvd player should be standard fare.

Pros: This hotel is in a great location. Room was clean and staff were helpful.

Cons: TV was pretty crappy. Heater in the living room wasnt working (and it was cold - lucky the heaters in the bedroom worked a treat). Needs a bigger sofa, there was a 2 seater sofa for a 2 bed apartment that sleeps 4. There was no plug for the bath. The gym was pretty crappy - wouldnt list it as a feature.

Pros: I had a conference at The Sebel, Albert Park and that is why I chose to stay at this location.

Cons: Our room was facing the road, and thus heard every sound from all the bar fights, to screaming mates etc... until 3am.

Pros: that we could open the sliding door to balcony for fresh air, comfy bed,clean,friendly staff

Pros: The Duty Manager (sorry I forget his name) His service was excellent, He helped us get another couple of tickets to the melbourne cup on our way out of the door, nothing was a problem for him. Thank you!

Cons: One thing we couldnt believe was the fact I got an email 2 days prior to our visit stating our booking would be cancelled due to incorrect credit card details, when I called the Medina they gave me a completly different credit card in from the one we provided. We felt they were trying to cancel our booking due to them not updating their rates during Melbourne Cup period. It was very lucky that we checked our email as it would have been cancelled. Maybe a phone call would have been nice considering it was provided. I spoke to one of my work mates who used to work for a Medina in Melbourne and said Medina in St Kilda was a dodgy one. It was just by chance we checked our email otherwise there would have been no accomm for us.

Pros: Close to business areas, efficient and help staff

Pros: Loved its location central to cafes, shopping, Beach & easy to get to city via tram. Staff very friendly and helpful. Apartments well equiped and comfortable.

Pros: Excellent location, friendly, helpful staff, secure free parking and internet access,comfortable beds.Although the hotel was very busy, the reception staff would alway help us with directions etc.

Cons: Requested a quiet room at the back, which was not available, our room at the front was very noisy,it was across from a backpackers hostel, hence loud kids hanging around outside at all hours of the night,also near a tram stop. Room rather basic and shabby, but despite these minor points we'd stay there again.

Pros: The reception staffs were responsive in our requests to rectify shortfalls and or unserviceabilities. However, the problem with internet access from the room could not be rectified and unserviceable wall light was not rectified.

Cons: There were no radiator in the bathroom. The ventilator in the bathroom was working(which is good) but on cold nights the ventilator contributes to colder bathroom without the radiator. To make it worse, the ventilator is linked to the single light switch(i.e. light on, ventilator on).

Pros: The room was very nice and clean and the bathroom was a good size.

Cons: We had so much trouble trying to find the car park even with the help of the new staff member and then our keys wouldn't work to let us in. This was very time consuming and painful.

Cons: the hotel suited our needs, we were in melb for a wedding. the overnight tariff was a little over the top , but we had no choice.

Pros: Nice, big room and bath with comfortable bed; excellent breakfast buffet; friendly and helpful staff; one short block from tram stop.

Cons: Nearest convenience store/ATM was 10-15 min walk...no other shops nearby.

Pros: we were upgraded on arrival for a saturday night stay, the place has been refurbished and its looks great, stylish and updated compared to what it used to be, would definately stay at this place again, staff very friendly, great location for shopping in Chapel St, & St Kilda and not very far at all from the Crown casino & the CBD.

Pros: The proximity to Albert Park for the Grand Prix

Pros: The professionalism and efficiency of the staff was appreciated. The room was clean and everything worked and is well maintained. Double glazed windows and not being right in the CBD meant a quiet atmosphere.

Cons: Not being right in the central business district, the charge for valet parking was high. The pool is large and the water clean but the walls of the pool could have been cleaner.

Pros: location, location, location, it was so close to everything in the city

Cons: parking, if you stay overnight you should be entitled to parking or at least pay a standard fee and go in & out when you need too.

Cons: Size of the rooms was poor. I have stayed here 3 times previously and recommended your hotel for our night away with another couple. I was astounded that we both paid for the same room type and received 2 completely different rooms. One was approx half the size of the other.

Cons: The room was pungent. 5 long term residents with no concern for ventilation. I could not stay in the room. It stank terribly and I grew up with a brother so are used to bad men smells but this was unbearable.

Pros: Location was great and cheap food from the bar. Staff nice & friendly and a friendly bar with a good vibe. I'd stay here again.

Cons: No outside toilet or shower so only one between 8 of us in the room. Kitchen facilities only on the ground floor. Also it's the 1st place I've ever stayed at where I've had to pay to leave my luggage after I've checked out! Despite this I did like the hostel and would stay here again...

Pros: early check -in was a blessing after red eye flight in from perth - albeit, the guy at reception did not want to have a bar but the another lady whom showed us where to stow luggage said there was a room we could book into early!!

Pros: The staff members were courteous and helpful. request to be near the lift was noted. tHE room was clean and everything was comfortable.

Cons: I didn't care for the car lift, having never used one BEFORE.i noted that when the air conditioner was in use the television couldn't be heard or the volume INCREASED.sORRY to say this but the bath towels had run their course, especially one that was full of holes.not attractive for guests.

Pros: I like to stay at apartments, rather than in hotel rooms. The apartment was mostly well equipped. The staff was helpful and friendly and tried to fix problems immediately. For me, the location was not a big problems since I could take the tram to down-town for business. However, it takes some time. The nearby lake is nice for running, and a suburban shopping area is in walking distance (about 20 minutes) .

Cons: The free wireless internet was not up to standards, often very slow and for more than one day basically unusable because of server problems. I missed a proper desk for working. The TV had not international programs - which left me without access to news others than local. The restaurant could have had a better food selection - I looked at the breakfast and decided not to have it. The location is a bit out of town.

Pros: Good sized room with good amenities. The location was good as there was a tram stop right outside the hotel. Very close to South Yarra shopping.

Cons: It was advertised as being in St Kilda, but it wasn't really. It was about halfway between the CBD and St Kilda, but a little too far away from both.

Cons: No shower curtain! We did not like having water splash on the floor and toilet when taking a shower because there is no curtain or door.....very strange!

Pros: The room was very clean the facilities were excellent. The hotel is very quiet and close to public transport.

Cons: The hotel is a hostel. It was dirty and so I go away before that I finish the holiday.
