It's warm, inviting, smells great, well-appointed and decorated and the lounge package is excellent value for money. The staff are lovely with nothing too much trouble for them. They especially take care of my husband, a coeliac, by ensuring he has plenty to eat, and my mother in law who must adhere to fructose free. Not many hotels are so caring.

Pros: What a gorgeous place!!! The attentiveness of the staff was fantastic. the food was wonderful - I ate at the Melba and although it was exspensive it was exceptional food. The room was lovely. My primary reason for selecting the hotel was the old world charm of the hotel. I don't see value for money in modern hotels. I booked 2 rooms for myself and my husband, our older son and a family friend and would do so again. We all had a massage at the Chuan Spa which I found was outstanding. The staff there were amazing and the masseur although young was extremely talented and well trained. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. If you like comfort and extreme luxury and to be surrounded by beauty. I think it is the best in Melbourne.

Cons: I asked for a room with a view when I booked with booking.com. I had a room with a view to the road but my room only at the 4th level, so my view to the city was blocked by the tall building in front of the road. Wish to have a higher level room in my next visit.

Cons: I am extremely disappointed that we pointed out stray hairs in our main bathroom shower, the staff advised that they would get it cleaned. When we returned that day the room had been cleaned but the hairs remained. For a 5 Star Apartment complex this I would of thought was inexcusable! To make matters worse I still have had no response to an email I sent outlining my concerns! Most places we stay at the Reception Staff always greet and are extremely polite, I might have caught the staff at bad times all the time I walked past but not once did one ever say “have a good day, sir” or even smile. The concierge when we arrived didn’t offer to help with our bags. It honestly felt like we were a burden to stay at this property. We had breakfast provided in our room stay so we didn’t purchase this, but it was very basic, I wouldn’t pay for this option if it wasn’t included

Valet staff retrieved mobile from car and brought it up to 38th floor, which had panoramic views of Melbourne. After Harry Potter Show we had Hot Coffee in Atrium and mentioned we had run out of tea in room..they provided some extra with a smile. Late check out no problem..shopping, food court and movie theatre in the precinct. Great location to Princess,Comedy,Regent theatres and restaurants.(.Kenzo Japanese divine

Although there were many levels, the lift made moving up and down floors quick and convenient. Rooms are very clean and beds come with a light and a power outlet. Luggage storage was provided. Drinking water and hot water was readily available at the kitchen. Crockery and cutlery was sufficient and well organised. Free pancakes for breakfast was provided everyday. The best part is its location is in the city centre right opposite Flinder's Street Train Station. Overall, the whole place is perfect. Will definitely come back again.

It's clean and comfortable, but most importantly it is social and easy to meet people. Everyone I met was so awesome and nice, always wanting to talk to each other. Pros: This hostel is a nice place to meet backpackers from all around the world. The staff is nice and very helpful. Rooms, toilets and shared areas are clean. Wifi works well, also in the rooms. Great location! Delicious and free pancakes served for breakfast in the spacious dining area. In the evenings there is always something interesting happening in the bar downstairs. For example, each sunday there is karaoke - lots of fun!

Cons: The bunkbeds! So, so insanely noisy and squeaky, and can feel the odd spring. Definitely time for an upgrade. The single bathrooms on the 3rd floor are great but need a floor towel as the floor is soaked half the time from people showering. The workers that change the beds everyday are super noisy and aggressive, shaking the entire bunk bed even when you're sleeping and knocking over (and not picking back up) anything hanging. They seem to have it out to wake you up and are unnecessarily rough.

Pros: Doubletree at Flinders has all the makings of a being lovely hotel -- warm service, well-maintained rooms and in a very accessible location right next to the tram stops and Flinders Station.
Cons: 3 major drawbacks -- a city centre hotel without free in-room wifi access [there is access at a prohibitive price] is really unacceptable in this digital age, and shows a shortsightedness one does not expect from a Hilton brand. Whether you're travelling on business or leisure in Melbourne, wifi access is a must as this is a city firmly in the digital age, and Doubletree shows it lack of vision by not being up to speed.
The pillows were terribly poor quality -- flat, with all the fluffiness gone out of them. Made for a very uncomfortable sleep. Surprising as one would think Hilton would get this fundamental right.
The area immediately around the hotel is dodgy -- with vagrants, drunks, homeless and the general underbelly of a city you hope not to see. Not much Doubletree can do about this, though, as it's a sacrifice you make for train access.
But if you're a single traveller, and have to move about early morning or late at night, be careful. It may not be the best spot to be in.

Cons: The first room was extremely noisey with air con system going off and on all night, no sleep the first night, spoke with reception and they changed us to a quiet room 118 (said they had a full house) with comfy beds .....but the room itself was AWFUL, it had squeaking floor boards as in 2/3 of the floor, we kept wondering if we were going to fall thru it was that bad, and awful when getting up in the night to go to the bathroom and not wanting to wake my colleague the carpet was dangerously well worn at the bathroom entrance, the furniture had big marks and the varnish was coming off on all the surfaces and the bathroom had mould in the grout in the shower and on the floor, really disappointed with the decor of the room - housekeeping forgot to top up milk and teas

Cons: Someone has stolen the things in our luggages which was put in motel on 27.7.2019. When I came back from New Zealand on 3.8.2019, the staff of the motel told us that someone has broken our luggages and stole our things. After detailed checking, we have lost the things in the amount exceeding 6000 HK dollars. We are very angry and upset. We are also disappointed to the security system of the motel and we are guessing whether the things are stolen by the staff of the motel. The staff has promised to refund the accommodation fee to us via booking.com due to the robbery incident happened in the motel and we hope the motel will keep the promise.

Pros: The room was PHENOMENAL to say the least! We stayed here for our Honeymoon night and they upgraded us to an AMAZING suite with a HUGE SPA and a double shower, a lounge room plus the bathroom was Gigantic! We had the breakfast included and Oh MY was that to die for. A FULL Buffet Breakfast from 0630am to 1030am which consisted of everything you could thing of plus more. Fresh Juices, Fresh Yogurts of 8 flavous, Bacon, Eggs, Mushrooms, Hash browns, Baked Beans, 4 different Types of Bread for toast and they even had Gluten Free options. Croissants and Chocolate Croissants, Rice, Salads, Vegetable and fruit so that you can juice in their amazing juicer. All your favourite spreads were also there. We cannot wait to stay again. Thank you so much to the lovely team at the Ryges who made our long overdue Honeymoon night, SO WORTH IT.

Cons: Showing its age, some interns in need of maintenance. Aircon unit is full of dust. False wall containing communications gear was unattached on one side and flapping. Shower wall needs to be resecured to the ceiling. Lack of ventilation.
