9.7 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff Comfort overall
Cons: No comments
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I didnt have breakfast added to my rate. At £200+ a night i would have expected this to be included. I have colegues that booked through other sites that got a cheaper rate and breakfast included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful design hotel. Friendly staff and great service attitude! Very good location to visit Ghent.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and staff couldn't do enough to help. Location great.
Cons: All fine.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and service
Cons: Road works and time to get the car back as well as parking price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rooms, beautiful building, perfect location
Cons: Too crowded at the breakfast. We had to wait too long before the coffee was served. There was only one waiter who had to serve all the tables.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: beautiful location and elegant setting, close to town, quiet and calm atmosphere.
Cons: the lay out of corridors meant it was easy to get lost and rooms were a bit cramped. Administration when booking in was poor - they told me my corporate card had been declined and this was embarrassing, they had uploaded details wrong. Otherwise it was smooth sailing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, free mini bar, lovely staff, excellent location, very nice breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious without being stuffy. Modern rooms with minimalistic plush fittings
Cons: Pricey but it is so nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated, just away from the main town centre but close enough to walk to.
Cons: More signs needed. We missed the main bar as we didn’t find it until it was too late. Even in the spa the rooms don’t have signs. An image would do if putting it in multiple languages is an issue.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A bit of a special treat for us. A certain level of comfort and luxury (more so in the public areas than in our room).
Cons: A better price, of course. :)
1898 The Post - Ghent - Building
2
9.3 Excellent (1,894 reviews)
Overview Reviews
1898 The Post is in the heart of Ghent, within a 5-minute walk of Korenmarkt Square and Gravensteen Castle. Featured amenities include express check-out, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good. The lady at the front desk on our second day was superb. She arranged for us to move to another room which was a big improvement. The location is excellent. Gent is a very nice city.
Cons: Our first room required you to climb a flight of stairs if you wanted to wash your hands, brush your teeth, etc. The bathroom was on the lower floor. If you drive into Gent, it is a challenge to find the parking location. It is a long hike with your luggage to the hotel and the hotel was hard for us to find. There is a closer entrance but you need a key which before you check in is a difficult proposition.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, great room on two levels, really comfortable. Building was really interesting and nice. Brilliant hotel
Cons: Nothing, but expensive
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is really helpful and the location is perfect! Also the hotel building is very special
Cons: The first room we stayed was really strange: the bed and the WC was on the first floor and the sink and shower in the second floor Ilike a mezanino). During the night, if we use the restroom, we need to put lights on and go up in the stairs to wash our hands!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location is the best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the decor, wonderful room, super comfortable bed, very nice staff at reception, and a great location.
Cons: The bar had no space on any of the 2 evenings I was there, due to popularity with locals. The honesty bar for guests, a little space on the 1st floor corridor had no mixers, to make a g&T for example, nor did it have wine, beer, a fridge or ice cubes so that seemed a pointless alternative.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and amazing hotel. One of the most beautiful and unique hotels I have ever stayed in. The honesty room was a cute touch
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Best location, view, decoration and cocktail in Ghent!
Cons: Need to go upstairs if going to bathroom.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location. The building. The “sophistication” is all in the Tourlaine stones. The bed was comfortable. The furnishings were stylish.
Cons: The service does not justify the expensive nightly tariff. I booked this hotel because of all the great reviews, despite the price BUT My room was advertised as having a city view when it only had glimpses of roof tops and only then if you stood at the window. I arrived at 12.30pm to be sent away until 3.00pm ( check in was 2 pm) and I was not told I could wait in the cafe/bar until then or while they checked to see if my room or another room was ready. They debitted my credit card the cost for 5 nights when I was only booked for 4 nights. When I pointed this out the next day they said it could be corrected on checkout. It was. On the second day at 8.45 am someone ( I presume housekeeping) opened my room door and then closed it ( presumably when they realised someone was in there). I left at 9.00am and when I returned at 2.30 my room had not been made up. When I tried to find a number for reception I couldn’t because there is no list of phone numbers as such. There are instructions for outside calls and room to room calls under “ Stay in Touch” but no number for reception which is instead under the heading “Hungry or thirsty?” I had been so looking forward to a treat and was sadly very disappointed. I expected faultless schmick because that was for what I was paying.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Las camas son muy comodas, y la habitacion muy linda.
Cons: Todo espectacular!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Located perfectly next to Gent St Pieters station, this was a beautiful boutique hotel with friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable, decent kettle for making tea and a tasty breakfast. Couple of good restaurants and bars nearby. You can access the city centre pretty easily via the number 1 tram on Gent Van Monckhovenstraat.
Cons: Not really much to dislike. I'd say if you've got a lot of luggage then use the lift, as the staircase is a bit tight.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff Large room Walking distance to city center and close to the station Quite at night (even on Saturday night) Free water in the room Clean
Cons: Small bathroom Small parking area
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Lift motor rather noisy close to our room.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. He explained us everything that we needed to know during our stay in Ghent. What to visit, where to have lunch and dinner, transport...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Geoffrey was particularly helpful. For example, he helped us with Dutch language instructions for our phone and researched on line for nearby towns he thought would interest us.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Management was extremely helpful telling us , with the help of a city map, places to see and what train to take or how long it would be to walk to downtown center. Parking at the hotel was a HUGE benefit.
Cons: Bathroom shower was difficult to keep waterr from getting all over floor.
10.0 Excellent

Breakfast is great and with many options which you have to order the evening before. We felt good and we'll definitely come back!
Cons: Payment has to be done in cash, no card is accepted.

Cons: -
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host, great surroundings, good breakfast, great location to relax.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house very welcoming. Lovely food. Amazingly large bathroom
Cons: Quite hard to find
4.6 Okay
Cons: Smell of tobacco smoke everywhere (maybe the landlady smokes?), shower not very clean, shower gel and shampoo dispensers empty, towels crunchy (not soft or white), lamps shades dirty and breakfast not supplied as requested (asked for meats but did not get any). On the window ledge outside of the bedroom window was a car exhaust pipe. No idea how it got there or why it was left there. At €126 not value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fantastic. We were made more than welcome from the moment we arrived. The lady that owns the B&B could not have looked after us anymore than she did, it was like being at home. We cannot recommend it any higher than Excellent. 5 Stars. And would recommend it to anyone.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lieve was a wonderful host und her B&B, set in a wonderful garden, provided us with all the comfort one could wish for. Peaceful, quiet location, comfortable bed, great shower, very good breakfast and coffee. And easy parking.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: What a gorgeous mansion. The common areas are beautifully decorated, which creates an cozy lush atmosphere. The room was huge including the enormous bathroom. All the staff are wonderful. Amazing place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Wonderful staff, individual rooms, unique breakfast. Perfect location
Cons: There was nothing I would change.
6.3 Good
Cons: On checking out we asked if we could leave our luggage at the property as our train back to London was much later in the day. Sadly Jan was unwilling to do this small favour for us. In many years of travelling and staying in hotels and guest houses all over the world, this is the first time we have experienced this. At these prices, the details matter and this left a very bad taste in our mouths.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was absolutely amazing experience for us to stay in B&B The Verhaegen although we are quite fastidious tourists. Here we felt like crowned heads, really!)) Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Furnishing everywhere in the hotel looks exquisitely and beautiful. I have never seen anything like this. Highly recommended!!!
B&B Snooz Inn - Ghent - Building
6
9.3 Excellent (183 reviews)

The B&B Snooz Inn offers a pleasant stay in Ghent for those traveling for business or leisure. The hotel is conveniently located a short 900m drive from Ghent-Dampoort Railway Station. With St. Bavo's Cathedral (Sint-Baafskathedraal) and Ghent City Center both within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. This Ghent hotel features parking on site. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, great to be able to park on the street for a reasonable 6 Euro per day. Friendly host.
Cons: Some coat hooks on the wall in the bedroom behind the shower would have been very useful. The step just inside the door coming back into the entrance from out the back was a trip hazard if you were not used to it. A warning sign on the door could be useful. Not a criticism of the host but many of the recommended restaurants and cafes were not open on the Monday and Tuesday we where there.
6.7 Good
Pros: The check-in was very quick which included complicated instructions for the air-conditioner and video/tv/peojection etc. High tech shower which was fabulous - included a steam shower. The location was a bit out of the way and took some time to find our way to the main old area (main attraction). The room was not serviced, and we didnt see the host again which is fine, but we tried to contact her many times as we needed to book a cab to rhe train station quickly - we realised we were leaving from a different train station. The complex was very, very modern, the room was very spacious and beautifully decorated - bathroom was outstanding! Great place, but would stay closer to the old town next time.
Cons: Location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this place was good, location was good and hosts were very helpful. The room was modern and very comfortable - would definitely recommend this property.
Cons: We had a few issues with payment and the WIFI was slow or not connectable. No major issues though.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Modern Nordic style Bath room very unusual but interesting experience
Cons: Maybe combination of toilet and shower room not ok for some people
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bed was amazingly comfy
Cons: The faf of getting garage key back after check out
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely and quiet location with an easy walk into the town centre.
Cons: Was informed that no breakfast would be served during my stay with only a week's notice before my stay. I might have chosen somewhere else that provided breakfast if I'd known earlier. Also the room was a little sparse on decorations compared with the pictures online of the same room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful and clean accommodations! Wonderful steam and jet shower! Lots of television stations to choose from. Very comfortable bed and very quiet room!Couldn’t imagine a better stay!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Position for sightseeing Ghent is good. Also walking distance to train access to Brussels.
Cons: B & Breakfast is misleading as breakfast is NOT included. During our 2 night mid week stay, hostess was unable to provide any breakfast in house due to personal circumstances.Tea/coffee making in separate kitchen area across alfresco courtyard..not good in inclement weather. Floor is polished concrete, only covered by rug centrally. Toilet and shower in same cubicle hence floor is wet for a period after showering. Base of bed is a trip risk. Parking is pay and display on street.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Big rooms with privacy. Beamer TV (bit did not use it)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a perfect example of the peaceful setting of our lodging and the ideal connection with public transport that takes you to the heart of the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean, private, and serene lodging near nature preserve in Ghent. Short walk to grocery stores, bakery, and frequently running bus line to center of city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the peaceful setting and privacy of each room. Nicely appointed. Although not in the heart of Ghent, Marcel de Gand is very accessible to the city by car or public transportation (bus stop is just a block or two away). It's a very restful place to return to after spending the day in the city. And right next to a large public park! We would definitely stay here again!
Cons: We loved everything!
7.1 Good
Pros: The location is ok, the room is ok size with all the facilities
Cons: The entrance did not have even a carpet so it was easy to make a mess. The rooms are ok size and the parking is ok too. This is not a 5 star hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The family was very helpful and kind
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean, had everything we needed and it was a nice quiet location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, modern. Wonderful surroundings (the nature reserve). Fresh air. Good bus service.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: In a perfect position in the old town near the castle and boat trips. Plent of restaurants in the area
Cons: nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view of Ghent from our room. Location was perfect to see the impressive centre of Ghent. The room was stunning with a very comfortable bed and a bathroom that made us think how are we going to change ours at home to compete with the one we were given. Breakfast was good - WARNING - could have been better if we had read the potentially confusing signs on the wall to order extras such as waffles. Car parking could be a problem since the hotel is in a restricted zone. Ghent will have clean air zone in 2020 so a permit will be needed. If we had not been able to use very small hotel car parking space we would have had to park in public parking 300 m away and presumably walk to hotel with our luggage.
Cons: The missed opportunity to order breakfast extras. Limited Car Parking. We did have a parking space but for one night it cost us €25.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: I needed a plug beside my bed and couldn't find one
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great views of all the churches, and the canal, AND downtown, amazing! We stayed for our 1 year anniversary and got to see fireworks from our room!
Cons: Thought breakfast was included, for price it seems it should have been but oh well
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere in the hotel is great, very nicely decorated. Swimming pool is great! Very nicely located in the center of Ghent, just a very short walk to the center.
Cons: Floors are all wooden, as you would expect in such an old building. This caused some noise from the above neighbor walking in his/her room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location at the River.
Cons: Difficult to get to with a car, don’t trust navigation systems!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a little gem, with excellent staff and a very sweet and accommodating owner. They go out of their way to help you find the perfect restaurant or book a certain tour. It is tastefully decorated and comfortable.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely, modern, clean hotel on canal
Cons: Although the location was superb regarding walking access to the centre, it was extremely difficult to find with a car due to access restrictions despite directions from the hotel
6.0 Good
Cons: Room was dated, bed was not comfortable. We had to leave the light on all night due to a bizarre electrical system in the room.

Pros: Very friendly and polite owners, cozy and clean rooms and a nicely arranged and diverse breakfast buffet for a good start of the day. Close to the train station and the convention center (ICC). Good access to the city center by tram. I can only recommend this B&B.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely accommodation. Great hosts. Beautiful breakfast
Cons: A bit too close to the train line as we could hear goods trains all night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love everything about this place! We received a very warm welcome. The modern rooms are beautifully decorated. You can find beers, wines (at convenient prices) and tea/coffee in the room. The location is perfect, right next to the station. However, as the rooms are very well isolated, we could hardly hear the trains passing. The breakfast room has a beautiful Victorian style. It is a varied breakfast with fresh and quality products. Highly recommended!
Cons: I loved everything! I wish we could have stayed longer!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was small, but comfy, with a large bed. The hosts were very accomodating and friendly. Payment was done at checkout. The hotel was very close to the St. Pieters Station and the city was just a 10 minute tram ride away. We stayed during the Gentser Feesten, a very busy time for Gent with lots of visitors, but still payed a reasonable price for the location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming, quaint, intimate B&B with only 4 rooms, making it feel like you're staying at someone's beautiful home. Incredibly friendly and helpful host who provided great dinner recommendations, both right around the corner and in the city centre. The breakfast was served in a cozy little candlelit dining room complete with vintage tea cups and was delicious, including freshly made eggs to order. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner very welcoming and warm. Nice rooms and facilities. If you want breakfast best to order in advance as that is to be planned and cannot decide at last minute
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fabulous, as were the hosts and the facilities. A great location for catching the train.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very pretty B&B, clean and tidy with a pleasant and helpful host. The air conditioning was very welcome when the temperature hit over 30C!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Elegant furnishings Superb breakfast
Cons: Noise from major train line - reduced using aircon, but would have welcomed earplugs

Pros: Everything... close to the centre of old town, easy to walk around, a lot to see. If you want to rest the room was awesome, they also have a sitting area, relaxation place it is cute. I didn’t use but you can go on computers. I would have plan to stay longer knowing what I know now! It is a small place only 4 rooms. It was a great stay.

7.5 Good
Pros: The place is very central and the our room was cozy. The staff who showed us the room was nice.
Cons: The shower had a kind of dirty curtains that i wish i recommend to change with a glass door. Also, the shower did not drain the water properly, which adds up to the dirty curtains you end up showering with.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Like the architectural use of old space merging with modern conveniences
Cons: Lighting to read in brd
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is generous and kind, location is perfect! Would like to choose again once come back to visit next time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: Rumbling traffic noises at night make it hard to fall asleep, but not really a big deal
7.5 Good
Pros: Hostel based in the city center, you have a nice view from the window! Pleasant and friendly people, convenient bed.
Cons: It was impossible to use personal box for clothes because there is no locker. Only in case you have your own locker, is possible. It was not so clear in bathroom. Bathroom is united for women and men. It was cold at night, people from warm countries complained that they were frizzed.
7.9 Good
Pros: good location
Cons: The shower/sink equipment is not good , you have to constantly pushing to get the water out .
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is in the very center.
Cons: Breakfast was very basic. But I guess that is what you get for the price.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location! This hostel has good facilities- plenty of showers and toilets in the common area. There is a washer and dryer in the common area as well.
Cons: The stairs. There is no lift in hostel. To get to my room on the top floor, I had to drag my heavy luggage through four or five flights of stairs. This is the only thing I dislike about the place. If you only have light luggage or a backpack, I would say this is a perfect place to stay in Ghent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view on the city is lovely
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Lovely historic building in a tremendous location on the waterside. Absolutely central in this beautiful town of Ghent. Charming reception staff. Crisp clean bedding for individual buks with reading light and charging point. Essential nowadays. A good experience
Cons: The bunks could be improved with privacy curtains
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good value and beds were comfortable.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great if you are travelling by car, easy to find and to park. Also well connected to the centre of Ghent by tram; the receptionist was very helpful in supplying tram tickets. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities.
Cons: The only slight negative was that the room smelled of cigarettes.
7.9 Good
Pros: Spacious room with enormous comfy bed. English channels on tv. Silent fridge. Good shower. Easy to find from motorway and good parking facility. Couldn't hear much traffic even though situated on busy road. Good breakfast choices though at 12 euros each it should be! Tram stop to/from city nearby. Decent choice of local restaurants if you arrive late and don't want to go into the city. Lovely staff.
Cons: The walk into the old city wasn't very pleasant or easy to navigate. Room floorboards squeaked horribly. We heard a lot of talking from guests in an adjoining room until about midnight both nights. The coffee machine in Breakfast room kept breaking down.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very clean, surprisingly quiet.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Excellent Location. Otherwise an average Marriott.
Cons: From photo I thought it was a converted historic building; it's not. Service uneven; and overall I would rate it low given how expensive this particular Marriott was. I was underwhelmed by this stay. Restaurant nothing special.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and view from a river side room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is outstanding. Liked the mix of old facade and modern inside. Bed comfortable
Cons: Huge TV over bar ruins atmosphere and look of the place. Very expensive. Small bottle of water in room costs 3 euros. Surely they could run to a free bottle of water.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a great location. Just direct in the city centre. The staff were very kind and supportive. The room was well-equipped and quite new. The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: When we checked in, the bath tub was not completely cleaned. Everything else was fine.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Way over priced. The fact I had to pay a deposit as well as my room. Breakfast area too small and not very pricey friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and bed was lovely and big, the bed was also very comfy. The staff are very friendly. Andrew on the bar does an excellent job, very polite and helpful. The back of the hotel is right near the canal, lovely to sit outside having a drink. It is also near to other pubs, cafe's and restaurants. Beautiful scenery.

Pros: put us on the 4th floor in the new building and room was larger than expected. Close to everything you want in Ghent. breakfast was great
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was in a very good position.
Cons: Most of the staff were preoccupied and some even surly. The evening staff were the only exception.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very friendly staff, good selection at breakfast
9.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect location comfprtable room ; cofee tea in the room
Cons: reaching hotel with a car is not easy mainly due to road bans ( not too good indicated)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is awesome. One minute walking from the Castle. Breakfast was better than expected. It is quite good having in mind it is a historic building with the problems and limitations it has.
Cons: It is not very eco friendly. Our towels were changed everyday even when we were following their instructions to not to change the towels.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and view, big modern room.
7.9 Good
Pros: Upgraded to a suite.
Cons: The scrambled eggs had a strange odor. I did not eat them. All other items were good
9.0 Excellent
Pros: the location ofd the Hotel and easy to visit all the sights
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was excellent and the staff were friendly but the hotel was overpriced for the level of cleanliness, size of room, amenities and overall feel of the hotel.
Cons: Cupboards rattled when you walked across the floor, the bathroom was poorly laid out, nowhere to place a washing bag or other items. The supplied items, soap, glasses etc, were all rather cheap. Several cracked tiles in the bathroom and the carpets weren't particularly clean.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is good. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: No value for money. 2 days in Ghent and very little rest really. I was given a room in the old building. ->Access to room: I have some doubts about the spiral staircase meeting regulatory standards. ->Noise: Rooms are not properly isolated. On Saturday night a lot of noise coming from the street (people shouting, music, etc) until very late. Almost impossible to sleep. On Monday morning, street work started at 7:30AM. And it was a total nightmare. Drilling/cutting pavement stones. I understand this is unavoidable but I would have expected somebody in the hotel to warn us about this and then offer us another room or at least a discount. At +100EURO a night I felt it was a total rip off.

7.1 Good
Pros: Excellent location. Very nice views from breakfast room
Cons: Besides the location, the hotel does not offer much
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast selection with timely replenishment of coffee and food. The rooms was a very good size for two friends sharing a twin room. The room facilities were exactly what I would expect and need. Shower was hot and had a good water pressure. Helpful and friendly reception staff.
Cons: The en-suite had a slight smell of urine around the toilet on arrival and throughout our stay, however, the rest of the bathroom and room appeared very clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All good, great location. Staff very helpful.
Cons: Thought a bit pricey compared to the others we stayed in on our travels through Belgium.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great breakfast and location. Reasonably priced.
Cons: Facilities were OK, not great. Hotel is supposedly historic, but actually looks quite modern in rooms and breakfast room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly. Beds comfortable. Good breakfast, with a panoramic view of the river. Close to the centre of Gent, easily walkable for everything.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
7.5 Good
Cons: I booked for friends for separate rooms but they didn't let us all pay separately which was disappointing
5.4 Okay
Pros: Very good breakfast. Morning receptionists and breakfast staff very courteous and friendly. Breakfast room very nice apart from unpleasant and intrusive piped music. Turn it off!
Cons: Receptionist when we arrived about 8 pm. Surly and brusque. He specifically said only mini bar and no food. Found next morning was room service until late. Hotel entrance had all the charm of an Ibis Budget
7.4 Good
Pros: Nice location, comfortable, clean room and facilities. Good and generous breakfast although we missed it a couple days due to poor communication at the front desk.
Cons: We arrived in Ghent very late 11 PM. Reception desk was confused and sent us to the wrong room. It was occupied by naked people who were busy on the bed when we walked in. Amusing for us but very embarrassing for the hotel clerk. He compensated with free beer and apologies. In the excitement he forgot to tell us the breakfast area was located on the 3rd floor. We missed breakfast the first 2 mornings. Another minor irritation was the same dirty coffee cup was left in the room for 3 days, while the bed and everything else was cleaned up. Despite the small gaffes the staff were mostly friendly and helpful and the hotel was nice. We would stay here again.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was excellent and we were upgraded to a large and spacious room
Cons: The rooms facing the street are very noisy even with the windows closed
7.7 Good
Pros: Fantastic Breakfast in a pleasant room.
Cons: room was a bit cramped
Hotel de Flandre - Ghent - Bedroom

9.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastic Hotel for Location - two minutes walk from the Centre of Ghent. We have been using this Hotel for many years now and its still great. Breakfast is large with almost everything you could want. The rooms are Comfortable, warm and clean.
Cons: The Weather could have been a little better, But this has no real reference to the Hotel - but its nice to know you can borrow a Hotel branded umbrella.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Great location for the centre.
Cons: The room was very dark, small and with virtually no natural light. Not impressed after driving from the UK.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. Usually very quiet, easy access to city centre.
Cons: The reception staff were very competent, yet quite reserved, bordering on unfriendly, one's social media semmed more pressing than attending to us. We remind hotels that we are in our 70s, yet our room necessitated heaving our luggage down steps.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: We were given a room in an annex which had no character and sway from the hotel which was never explained. Fortunately we managed to get a room change or we would have asked for a full Refund and could an alternative hotel
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Difficult to understand why this hotel is 4 star
6.0 Good
Pros: Very centrally located. Our upgraded room was spacious and clean. Very comfortable beds. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were provided in the room, plus water. Hotel staff were helpful in re-allocating us to a more suitable room.
Cons: We were in the annexe which was a bit strange - it felt like a motel at a seaside location rather than attached to an historic building. We were originally given an executive room with no access from the hotel lifts. This meant getting soaking wet as we had to cross a courtyard and then were expected to climb a very steep set of slippery iron steps. It was impossible for us with our heavy suitcases. Luckily on request we were re allocated another annexe room which although meant getting a little wet was much better (and larger).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, great reception stagg
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful and very modern. Very quiet--the new part of the hotel is in a building about a block away from the original building and is set back from the street.
Cons: The 15:00 check in time is very strict and the place to leave your bags is out in the open and not very well supervised. Anyone could walk in from the street and take a bag, the front desk wasn't always staffed. This is tough on travelers relying on public transportation. Breakfast was quite expensive (€21 per person for a buffet) so we opted to find food on our own. Unfortunately, very little is open before 11:00, so finding your own breakfast is difficult.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location was good
Cons: The property was isn’t in one building but has annex! When we arrived we were informed that our room was in the annex and that they had NO HOT WATER! I explained by husband had just come out of hospital with a skin infection and that we needed hot water, as everyone does, in my opinion! So after I pushed and pushed they offered us a luxury room for 10 euro per night supplement! Considering we had paid for executive room I don’t understand the extra payment! See photo below, we were in room 113
7.5 Good
Pros: Coffee/tea/hot chocolate were great. Bed comfortable.
Cons: Location very hard to find. We checked in at reception, then had to drive down the street to the annex, park, unload luggage, then drive a couple of blocks down the street to the parking garage and walk back to our rooms (in pouring rain). In morning we had to haul our luggage down the street to check out and on to the parking lot with luggage. Windows were open in our room and with concrete floors it took a couple of hours to get the room barely comfortable warm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location and comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I got a great deal on the booking website, and was very happy with the service and breakfast and room, all very good, and a good location in old town Gent.
Cons: receptionist did not smile once when booking us in or asking questions.
6.3 Good
Pros: Central location. Very quiet.
Cons: The drain on the shower was defective so the bathroom flooded.
7.3 Good
Pros: Excellent location. Really good breakfasts. Very comfortable room.
5.3 Okay
Pros: My first room (no 1) was terrible. I changed rooms and that room (447) was absolutely perfect. Night porte was very friendly
Cons: 1) Lobby dirty (cigarettes in flower pots etc. beer tins in the garden 2) People smoking just outside the hotel 3) Room airco did not work. Room about 27 degrees celcius. So I had to change rooms 4) terrible music in the lobby and in the bar. The same music went on and on and on. It was clear to me that hotel management was not on top of things.
5.0 Okay
Pros: location, ease of booking, reasonable pricing
Cons: The staff was not overly friendly. They did not do anything wrong but only did what was strictly necessary. Did not give a warm feeling.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast top!!
6.0 Good
Pros: The location nearby the towncentre.
Cons: Not easy to find from outside

Pros:
Cons: window above the room-door towards the court that could not be darkened - and the court was illuminated all night, worn kingsize-mattress with a gradiant towards the middle
