Pros: We arrived early from an international flight, well before the scheduled check-in time. The staff receiving us at check-in was very kind and gracious to not only allow us to check-in but upgraded us to the corner suites as those were the only available rooms to allow us to rest and recharge. Overall, the friendly team of staff was what made the trip the most memorable.

I accidentally left my glasses at the hotel, and they even shipped them to another German hotel free of charge (the hotel offered to shipped to our house in the US, but we wa tee them so I er so they had no issue shipping the to our hotel in Rothenburg).

Cons: No hot water night before check out then again morning of check out so we couldn’t take a shower before our long haul flight home. Still angry about that. When I brought it up to the front desk agent, I was told that they were having boiler issue and there was nobody in engineering department to do. It. I was given a business card of a hotel manager. To make the situation worse after I sent a long email message to a hotel manager nobody follows up to calm me down. Polite apology with a small gesture would have been brought better memory of the stay.

Tons of shops, great food and drink locations nearby as well along with their restaurant. The staff was amazing! I had a slight issue with my flight to leave the city and they made calls for me to get past the German automated systems which was a lifesaver! Everyone on the staff was incredible and I highly recommended this hotel.

I showed them my receipt, emailed them the receipt twice and printed the receipt out and gave it to Laura on the second night of the stay. Then, when I check out, they ask me for the voucher again! I get back to the U.S. and get an email from them...wanting the voucher. I expect that they'll charge me twice for the room and I'll have to do a charge back through my credit card. The beds are not fit for human consumption. P.S. a "double" room does not mean two beds - it means that you get a room that does not have the toilet and shower completely open!? They charged us 40 euro/night for a roll-away.

Cons: There was an instant where someone began walking into our room as I had just come out of the shower. Luckily they closed the door as soon as they acknowledge we were there. Cons: Both receptionists from the evening (1st September) were not nice at all, being not very helpful and rather rude. There was a misunderstanding with the tax charged and before I could even ask properly, they jumped all over me, making me feel very uncomfortable. After that, they wouldn’t even greet me and my partner. In addition to this, they gave us a room saying that it was renovated, which seemed like it, but we had a problem with the card reader and and also the bathroom door had a whole where the door knob was supposed to be. I don’t think it’s appropriate to “sell” a room as renovated when there are details like these to be fixed.

Pros: For what you pay for, the accommodations were fantastic. Room, fridge, TV, elevator were all small, but functional. The bathroom was well stocked and clean; the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The street outside the hotel was quiet (which is important as the window needs to be open in warm weather as there is no AC). Location was awesome: very safe, quiet, pretty area, across the street from the metro and zoo, with stores and restaurants not too far away.

Cons: We were provided with silent room as per our request, however it was not non-smoking room. The room, the wall the sheets and blankets everything had a horrible smell of cigarette smoke all the time.

Cons: The hallway outside the rooms is loud (stone floors with poorly insulated room doors); this was not a major issue as there was not a lot of hallway traffic, but some may be disturbed by it.

Cons: I am an experienced traveller, and always inspect my room upon arrival. Upon checking behind the headboard of the bead, I three small, white, multilegged bugs (_not_ bed bugs, but nasty nevertheless and very much alive) along with a seeming lifetime's worth of dead skin flakes and other grotesque signs that this place had not been cleaned in ages. Took one of the bugs to the front desk in a tissue, said I wasn't comfortable staying in a place this unclean, and asked for my money back. They offered me another room, but I really didn't want to stay there. In the end, they refused to refund my money. Don't go to this place.

Cons: Staff did their job, weren’t particularly welcoming neither unfriendly though. There was considerable mold under the sink near the shower, the walls were extremely marked, some big dust bugs under the bed, but superficially it was quite clean. Had a room on the first floor facing the street. It was extremely loud until late and then again noise from street started early in the morning. I would say that the “soundproofing” that is noted on booking.com is inaccurate. I was disturbed by the continuous sounds from the street even though windows were shut close. The fact that there is neither air con nor a fan may become a major issue during hot nights. I was a bit troubled by the heat.

Pillow was of satisfactory quality, which is a rare sight in hostels. The location is great if you enjoy partying or going to bars.

Cons: They charge extra if you are not member of their hostels and it's not included in the original booking price, ridiculous. Also the hostel is super boring, it does not have a hostel vibe and the "bar" is always closed. You feel like in the army or in a hospital. They are also super strict witch checkout (9.30 am) I never in any hostel I stayed they make me checkout so early with no flexibility. I will definitely not choose them again. Not what I look in a hostel.

Cons: Check out was at 9.30. Can you believe that? Why that early? And the worst thing was, nobody informed me about that. It should be written in block letters on booking.com and then repeated by the staff itself. But no, housekeeping just opened my door at 9:30 and informed that I should leave the room. This, however, was not the only thing I did not appreciate. I checked in at 7pm, spent some time in my room, and then I came out to soak up the sights. After a calming e-scooter ride on the bicycle road near the River Main, I went to frequent the Saschehausen area. I came to the hostel at 5am. I used my card to open the building door, but the thing did not work! Disaster. Should I now wait until 6.30, which is the time the reception starts working? I was unbelievably disappointed. However, a spark of hope. Two gentlemen were seated at the reception. I rang the bell, I explained to them that I was a guest, but they did not want to let me in! Can you imagine that? Keeping your guest outside of the building, as if I was a thief, beggar or a homeless person. I felt so embarassed. This never happened to me in my life. One of the gentlemen who was seated at the reception, after 5 minutes of argument, finally asked me for my room number and my name. I told him this and then he opened the door. Thank you, God. Now I can go to sleep. P.S. I was forced to pay a 3.5€ fee for a membership in their hostels. I regretfully inform you that they told me about this only AFTER the bed was already booked! Disgraceful. Shouldn't a guest be informed of all future expenses before he makes a reservation that is being paid in advance?
